I'm sure it would be a one day thing, I doubt Persona would need to last longer than that unless they had a huge number.

Optimism though, man!

There are going to be 1000000 entering for Persona because it's such a great game!

Still one day though. Don't worry about it.

Lot of set-ups.

*Fixed*

Also, for those who are going to be at GamePazzo tonight, there's a few things I wanna discuss regarding EVO and our Dustloop page. Please show up if you can to play games and get involved in the discussion if you're interested in seeing changes.

Shin, what about the people who couldn't make it to GamePazzo tonight? will you still discuss with us about EVO and the dustloop page?

GGs Koba and everybody else I played! Lesson of the day: NEVER play FG's high on energy drinks...

Never got around to it. Too busy with games lol. But once I get to my laptop, I'll post the ideas I have up here and we can discuss them.

Hey got directed here from SRK.

We're a new social gaming lounge in Oak Park, IL.

We hold tournaments every Thursday in various games & we are trying to build a tournament crowd as our 1st couple tournaments have been very small.

Next Throwdown Thursday (1/17/2013) will be featuring the following games:

Persona 4 Arena

Skullgirls

Madden 13 (3 on 3)

$5 pot fee per game

$5 venue fee

payout 75/25

In addition to cash all first place winners will receive 1 week of free membership to EXP.

*We have room for your own equipment.

**Check our profile page or find us on Facebook for more information.

Hey EXPGaming:

I saw your post on SRK and glad you decided to post on Dustloop. I find it interesting that you're hosting tournaments for various games and even though we focus more on BlazBlue/Guilty Gear/Persona, we play other games as well. I heard about your venue from other gamers from around the city and with you guys hosting a Persona Tournament this week, I'd like to show up and take a look at the place for myself.

I have classes Thursday but you say the tournament starts at 10PM right? If so, I can make it.

Yea tournaments start at 10:00pm or a lil after. But we are open everyday except Mondays so you can visit any of those days.

Awesome, I'll def be there then if you got some BB/GG casuals set up too.

This is my first time seeing you post here, welcome to the thread. We play BlazBlue and Guilty Gear at our other gatherings, if they can't do casuals for those games this Thursday, you can show up to GamePazzo on Friday. I always have a copy of BB on standby and GG is downloaded on my console so show up and play!

I also show up to Ignite on most Mondays (Not today, I'm sick), and we play BB there as well. It would be cool to meet you and for you to get involved in the scene.

Technically everyday is casual play @ EXP but if you are asking if we allow casual play during the tournaments on Thursdays then the answer is YES. There is a $5 venue fee for causal play on Thursdays after 10pm (tournament time).

Where exactly is that end-of-the-month tournament located? It's not listed. For anyone outside Chicago(I guess just me) we'd never be able to find it. I might see if I can make a run up there.

@Shin: I noticed you wrote about heading up a BB/GG tourney. That might be something I'd like to participate in as well. I just hate the drive.

Also thought about maybe playing Persona online in a few days. I know I must be brain-damaged(haha I don't like the game much, lame joke). Just curious if you might be interested in that. And I suppose anyone else for that matter can join.

The Monthly happen at the GamePazzo venue, click on the link (The name of the venue) and all the info necessary is on their homepage.

It's confirmed: Keits has put me in charge of running BlazBlue: EX and GG:AC+ at UFGT9 this year. I will be running brackets, watching the pot money for it and calling all the shots for those games. If that's what you're coming down for, make sure you have a spectators badge (should be around $15 or $20) so you're able to enter.

EDIT: Front Page Updated. Thanks for that point out Arc!

Hey thanks for the reply. That's actually a whole lot closer than Northbrook was. Shaves about 30m off of the drive time(an hour total!). I will definitely get with my friends to see if they want to make a trip.

As far as the tourney in May goes, it seems more likely. I can actually get a little heads up on something happening for once rather than learning of it the day-of. Such is life.

LunaKage is trying to come down for UFGT9 as well (especially since BB is going to be there), hopefully things work out and he can be down here with axis and the rest of the MI crew.

Welcome to the forums 4V, hope to see you being as active as possible and growing with us as much as you can.

Talking to Kobayashi, he brought up some good points, we know that a lot of people don't want to come out for some reason but we want you to. We figured we need an incentive for those who opt out of coming so you guys can stop missing out on the fun and show up. What was discussed and what I would like to implement are the following:

tournament_medal.png Monthly Trophy: This will be rewarded to the one who wins the Chicago Monthly at each month, It will be posted next to your name in the player's log to show everyone who's the top guy for that month. It's small but I think it would be a fun thing to implement.

Highest Ranking New Guy: No one likes losing money or entering a tournament if they feel like they can't win so to kill that noise, we're going to start doing this. For every person that hasn't placed top 3 in the monthlies before, the highest ranking person of that group will receive a free six-piece order of wings from the venue! I know, it's not money but if you want that, you gotta get that top spot. I beleive this will motivate everyone else that hasn't placed top 3 to grind out their skills and work for top 3 the next time. It's friendly competition between those who hasn't quite gotten to that stage yet and hopefully this will motivate you guys to get up there. We have the strongest US Yukiko, a powerful Elizabeth, a knowledgeable and strong Akihiko/Yosuke and the Narukami Moderator in the scene, there are resources here to get to that level and hopefully this competitive prize will boost people's morale and get them to wanna surpass them and take the top spot.

Level Up Station Training: Domingo had this going at one of the events and for some reason, we didn't do this. We usually do our own thing but this will be interesting to do once in awhile, probably the week before the monthly or the second week of each month so everyone has a good idea of where they are and who is on their level of play. This also gives people a chance to gain lot of insight on their play-style from players on their level so everyone learns to grow together. This is by no means a way to separate players by any means, this is a session to help everyone work on their game and increase their level with those near their level or slightly better than them, it builds everyone's skills. I personally believe we should implement this once a month.

These are three good ideas I've come across and I would like you guy's opinions on them. This obviously doesn't apply to P4U only, but for all the games we play. I know I would like to still level up in BB and GG so doing this for those games as well would help out a ton. What are you guys thoughts toward these ideas?
