  1. Due to an overwhelming lack of interest, or traffic, or both, please disregard this. Perhaps I will try again in the future but for now this is canceled.
  2. I have had some pretty good success finding games in UNIB. This is in the middle of the night and filtering out anything below 3 bars. In contrast, if I load up BBCP(or try to find "local" games in GG Xrd) at any time I can sit in an empty room for an hour. This is fine for me since I enjoy UNIB a lot more anyways. I do wish the online was a little livelier but it is what it is for the moment. I guess, try not to get discouraged. You might find some people to play with sooner or later. You could always coax some friends into getting into it with you. It's a pretty fun game.
  3. Personally speaking, when "game" gets released, only to be shortly followed up with "game 2.0 coming real soon", I think it really kills the excitement. At least for me. I would like a little more time between iterations. The very fact that everyone knows when "game's" time is "up" is depressing. It is almost like the old computer hardware jokes. "As soon as you get your new rig up and running its already very-obsolete." Granted one cannot simply invest in -nothing-, but it is sometimes hard to shake the fact. I am not really sure if this is an "anime" game problem so much as a symptom of a saturated market. People are going all over the place to new games and imports all the time and playerbases are being fractured constantly as a result. Online communities rapidly become total ghosttowns. Like Zouf above me, I only really have netplay. Whether I would like to support a game or not is irrelevant without a dedicated playerbase. Offline communities can probably handle the load a little easier since it is far more social. These are probably irrational thoughts(very likely in fact), but they are also probably not uncommon.
  4. Hmm I stumble in here only to find news of a brand new version of this game. Love Max just landed(dead in the water) in North America. I really hope this ends up being a patch. If this is something I have to pay for I will likely flip out. Also, that new character. What the hell? Perhaps I sound a little bitter. Maybe I am? Personally speaking, hearing any news about a new version of a game, I just bought, kills my desire to play it. This same thing happened with BBCP. NA releases and I have to wait for 1.1. Just barely after 1.1 lands there's news of 2.0. It just makes me not care. I am aware of the irrational nature of this, however, I feel my time is not being rewarded or respected. I would like for the meta-game to be more developed. It barely gets into the swing of things before something new shows up. Sorry for the rambling. Edit: Yes I know these companies have to pay the bills somehow.
  5. Moving the Fatal property from a strong/popular punish, and then slapping it onto a crippled 5D, is a very bizarre move. I am not sure anyone throws out a random 5D any more. Maybe they thought the old way was too strong? I saw 4D do a regular counter-hit and it hurt my soul.
  6. Just some minor observations. It is hardly anything more than anecdotal: Counter-hit 6B > 5D still works(just for confirmation). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG9zkIdys0M&feature=player_detailpage#t=24 d.2D seemed to beat 4D clean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG9zkIdys0M&feature=player_detailpage#t=36 ~d.5B(wallbounce) > 236B > 66 > 5A > 6C(2) > 2D seemed to miss completely. j.C > j.D definitely looks almost useless and non-confirmable. 4D later beat d.6A (I -think-) and counter-hit d.6B. It also ate some other random single hits from Azrael. It makes me think the overall invincible window is a lot smaller, and that a multi-hit attack like 2D/d.2D can get around it now. Not sure if that was possible before but I do not recall it as such.
  7. I was just wondering how much of a community is going to be around for the NA version of Love Max? I look at the ranking leaderboards and see a whopping 350 people registered. There are 0 online games going most of the time. At all hours. I have to say it is really disappointing to have the community segregated in this way.
  8. Wow this is definitely awesome news. Glad I came in to check. The question I have about it would be, are there any plans for a localization as with the previous version? Either way I will definitely look into it. I always loved this game even if I was the most terrible Heart ever.
  9. It is sad to hear that this game will suffer a delay. At least they were honest and fairly transparent about the reasoning for it. I guess I will now have plenty of time to wear out Chronophantasma. http://yatagarasu-ftg.com/dev-diary/yatagarasu-aoc-developer-diary-feb-27th/
  10. Callisto is definitely right about that. Unless the netcode is tweaked or otherwise updated(like in KoFXIII for Steam) there should be little overall difference. You get other benefits though as far as stick compatibility and no online-multiplayer paywall.
  11. Hey all! I know I do not post here much but there is something I saw today that I feel is very important. There really is not anywhere appropriate to post this kind of thing on this site so I suppose I will start with it here. If you want to support the idea of PC ports for ASW games then please check this out and share it with as many people as you can. Otherwise just ignore this and go happily about your days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7llTGq7ctU
  12. I finally booked a room and updated my status to confirmed for Chicago Heart 5! I am pretty excited since I've never been to any kind of a tournament before. However, I look forward to a, hopefully, enjoyable experience! Now I just have to consider participating in any of the gaming events personally.
  13. I heard about the O and P but couldn't figure out where to use it. If it's in the character select then at least I know for the future. I also thought it might be a good idea to include region in the comment but maybe that's just me.
  14. After fighting with this for a couple of hours last night and being unable to join any public lobbies last night(maybe they were private?), this game suddenly came to life and decided to work today. Not sure what I did or didn't do but I suppose it's no longer relevant. I had a few matches with a couple of fellows. The host was nothing short of flawless and the other guy that came in the room had a lot of lag with him. This is despite the ping being fairly reasonable. The netcode is easily better than I expected. I would like to get some more games in in the future if anyone else is interested. I had a good time.
  15. I just wanted to state that that video database you guys made is far and above the current standard. Good job!
  16. If anyone was on the fence about getting this game and/or funding the indiegogo campaign, there's an affordable alternative for everyone. In my email I was lead to this site where one can purchase this game among many others in a bundle. Although I already funded the campaign I might just pick this up as well to give it a try before the later release.
  17. I caught wind of this game recently completely by accident. I also saw this video on SRK: video. Most of this looks pretty good to me. Though I do have one reservation. The guard crush mechanic seems a little on the quick side to me. Is it easier to avoid than it looks initially? Are the rewards for a guard crush substantial? I have no experience with the game, however, I intend to pick it up at some point.
  18. Hell, even I went to one. I never went back. However, that is due to it being hilariously impractical. If you at least live within a reasonable distance, there's little to no excuse. You guys should be thanking the FG gods that you have others to play with. I do not and my ambition, motivation, and skill are waning greatly. I do hope to make an appearance for the May tournaments though.
  19. Thanks for this update Tigre! Also thank you for this insight into this mechanics functionality. Knowing is half the battle! /gi-joe
  20. That does make a bit more sense. I just thought it odd that it was as useful as it appeared to be. It seems like it would make block strings more annoying to do with a threat of that happening. If it's punishable then it wouldn't be such a big deal. I have no experience in the matter so I guess all I can do is take other people's testimonies into account and speculate myself.
  21. Arcana Heart posted this on Facebook. Didn't see it here so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXcXTPUDuUI&feature=player_embedded From what I see as the Arcana Blast, is there any reason to use the old burst now? The recharge time is a lot faster with the blast.
  22. I don't run or use IRC. :/ I only use WLM and even that's being turned into a program I utterly loathe. It's not all together a bad idea though. Was just planning to play with a buddy of mine tonight.
  23. Just a reminder: If anyone around here wanted to netplay tonight I should have a room up around 7PM central time. I'll probably stream it too. Edit: Mics are welcomed and encouraged. Being social is always a positive thing in my eyes. Edit2: Stream: twitch.tv/arcknight9202
  24. Hey! I never got a reply back from you. You could have been training or afk for all I knew. I don't just barge into other people's games either. At least not usually. Also, that game was Tales of Graces F. Been working on the platinum trophy. Game is ridiculously fun. Almost finished too! 10x damage can die in a fire though.
  25. You're one to talk about dodging Toan. :P Ya ya I hardly ever see you on. Anyone else free Friday evening? I figure if I post about it ahead of time people can make arrangements. 7pm CST. Stream too probably.
