just got it in the mail today after a long week of waiting..... :yaaay:

It's pretty small and compact for a 256-page guide. Even though I can only make out a few bits of Japanese, the pics help me with the Gatling Combo Route charts for each character. Has match-up info for player vs. player as well as Vs. CPU and even includes info on GG Mode lol.

Also, info on Guilty Gear X 1.5? All I know of it was that it was a re-release of GGX for the Atomiswave arcade platform, and that's about it.

it was more than that, it also had some balance changes and some new moves that are present on GGXX onwards

If there were any changes from X to X 1.5 to X Plus....Honestly I think they'd probably be expressed in EX Mode...which was a prototype in Plus anyway.

For anyone who has GGX is GG Mode drastically different from the normal mode? Tried it out for the first time since unlocking it this morning and I noticed the gameplay is a bit faster. Also looking through the guide some characters either gain new special attacks, or have their existing ones modified (the most obvious being Ky; there's an entire page about GG Mode Ky)

Also there's a matchup diagram for both normal mode and GG Mode. Normal mode I kind of understand but for GG Mode?

GG Mode changes a few specials for certain characters, and allows low-to-ground airdashing, plus a lot more normals can be jump cancelled if not all normals.

Also Ky > GG Mode > Proto Robo-Ky (which was carried over to GGXX, but became an entirely different character after #Reload).

Proto-Robo-Ky:

236S Slow Stun Edge

236H Ray Divider

214K Inverse Crescent (an inverted Crescent Slash...predates Greed Sever)

236K Impala Hunt (quick sweep, goes through some projectiles)

623H Aces High (Vertical RTL)

632146H Quick Single-Hit RTL

His walking animation can go under projectiles, his dash is fast but has a weird stop animation, he also has a weird crouch animation as well.

Also his Gatling Tree is kinda odd in that you can do stuff like 6P 5S 6P 5S for crazy stun. I think his 2H hits once, IIRC.

Other than that, he shares Ky's original jump Stun Edges. In XX he got an Eye Laser (632146P) kinda hits like Sacred Edge.

As of now I think EX Ky is superior to Proto-Robo-Ky.

Other than Ky, GG Mode Sol had a weird Bandit Revolver, I think it was mashable when it came out.

Lastly, in XX GG Mode got "Kakusei Mode" from the original GG...where if you had a little HP left, you got a Yellow Aura around you and gained Tension faster.

Thanks....only tried out GG Mode with Sol (and Bandit Revolver is indeed mashable in this mode) Fun thing is that it can be enabled for either player, both players, or randomly. Will try out GG Mode Ky tonight :)

If you guys want I can post some tidbits from the guide, maybe contribute to the wiki a bit

If you want, I still have Proto Robo-Ky's frame data (somewhere in my archive) if you wanna translate it for whatever reason.

..not necessarily related to the guide but any vids of some high-level or even mid-level GGX play?

Seems all I can find are the Sammy Cup vids.
