O-Sol can combo after so many things now and lvl 3 savage fang ingores OTG, I'm in heaven. :D

Triple bandit revolver lvl 3, and Dragon Install Sekkai ignores OTG as well. It's pretty fantastic.

Unrelated:

I was watching some Xrd stuff and I just saw Sol do some HNK/Sengoku Basara Cross shit in the corner with wallsticks :/

Edit: Oh, and OHK is no longer garbage in xrd apparently.

Fafnir's also crap easy to confirm on normal hit now. I'm in heaven lol.

Those wallsticks are from dust. You know how in persona after an all out attack you can either wallstick em or blast em up, well, that's what happens in GG too now. Only without that mashing thing and it seems to affect the ENTIRE combo instead of the first hit, so you kinda basketball them against the wall with every single move you land, even if it normally doesn't do that.

Thanks for the warning man. I was considering going ahead and doing just that.

No worries, hopefully the US patch comes out soon.

After I got my PSN all updated I did some training mode for the first time in a while. This made me sick of the lack of random music. I tried to unlock it through missions first (turns out I was wrong and you can't through mission mode, but at least they were actually doable for me unlike a good 3rd of the old XX missions). Guess that means I'll finally see the rest of AC story mode.

Edit:

I might be just a purist but so far I prefer most of the old character designs over the Xrd ones. I do like the new Millia quite a bit.

My greatest fear is a Baiken with cybernetic limbs.

You're welcome. :D

I don't see cyber-Baiken being a possibility, though we may get to see her naked missing arm in some parts or maybe all her devices inside her kimono's sleeve kinda like how we see what happens when Potemkin busters you off-screen...and that's awesome.

I'd love to see Baiken's maimed arm and/or her stored weapons. It's just, I feel like the new Potemkin design is really. . . un-Potemkinlike. He feels more like a robot now (that helmet, his purple glowing eyes, the switch from fingerless gloves to full metal gauntlets, what little of his voice I could faintly make out sounded mechanical). Such an extreme change in one character raises the possibilities of extreme changes in others, and I guess I have this fear that they might make Baiken into a Raiden-esque cyborg.

edit: you guys have probably seen these already, but just in case here's some xrd vids:

Potemkin vs May, then May vs Ky, and finally Venom vs May

Ky vs May, then Ky vs Sol (shows off the new Dragon Install at the end)

So like Azrael? That's hilarious.

Azrael doesn't really have wallsticks actually, his kick just has AGES of forward-moving histun even in the corner when you get hit by it with the weakness applied and he keeps canceling it into itself for that kicktrain thing. If you see him do just one of them you'll see just how long they fly forward lol. In this they seem to actually bounce back from the wall in a way which may make combos possible even when not directly in the corner.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere the voice clips are not recorded and they're using old ones from AC or even older games so don't bother trying to listen for differences quite yet. :P

May's voice clips especially make this apparent so watch some games with her and listen closely.

As for his redesign, eh, I never was a big fan so it's a lateral change for me. I like his new fire style moves though, maybe he needs to be more robotic to have that flame hurricane spew from around him now lol.

So we doin' anything this Sat.? I remember Why saying he probably won't host this week or somethin', so maybe X9-suals could be a thing?

Posted

Sadly, X9-suals on Saturdays probably won't be able to happen for a while. We do Heroclix tournaments on Saturdays now, so there isn't any space.

Speaking of Divekicks,I just saw the Squigly character guide and she's pretty cool. Why am I always drawn to the complicated characters?

Because when you learn them and get good with them, you can't help but feel accomplished

Because the game doesn't really have that complicated characters in the game yet, and seems generally focused around what silly things you can do with assists considering the "make your own assist" option. She really only has three mechanics that I can think of that put a bump in the standard learning curve. 1. Stance-cancel shenanigans (seems only useful in combos); 2. being able to lock the screen's focus (really situational); 3. Level 3's homing ability.

I might. Also...I HAVE SATURDAYS OFF AGAIN. If anybody is doing casuals, hit me up.

Edit: Who else is hype for new JoJo's?

So what tournaments does anyone plan to be hitting up within the next couple of months? Anyone considering going to the next stickbug monthly?

I'd like to go to NEC if I have money by then, definitely won't be attending anything before then.

On another topic, if anyone is looking for an anime to watch I recommend Uchouten Kazoku. It's the best series I've seen in a long time. It's sort of a modern fantasy show about a family of Tanuki living in a human city. The art style is pretty typical minus the equilateral-triangle shaped ears, but the plot and character interactions give a Josei impression.

Was anybody not expecting Kokonoe? I'm honestly surprised it took them this many games.

I figured Jubei to be added before her, considering they said they'd add him with Relius.
