lol I can taste the saltiness.

I play pocket Mitsuru, I'm speaking from experience. She's very easy to pick up and learn the game with compared to the rest of the cast IMO.

Chie will give you better anime fundamentals, but Mitsuru is overall I think the easiest character to get more bang for your buck in terms of training mode stuff. She's got good easy B&Bs and will teach you to translate random hits into damage very well.

Entry level -> mid level Mitsuru is fun and will teach you a lot.

...so anyway, if you want an actual character that's pretty easy to pick up and play, I would suggest Chie or Labrys.

I would go as far as to say Labrys was created AS the beginner character.

I can taste the salt.

(I can do this too).

Labrys is a good beginner character too.

Kanji has easy execution requirements but will teach you a LOT of bad habits.

This, this, this

Seriously, Labrys is hands down THE beginner character

I've seen multiple people just pick her right up and get to work on her

She kind of molds you into the game--as any beginner character should

Doesn't hurt that she can hit like a truck

Ha, ha, I've used Labby a few times. How I pulled 4.7k out of my ass I'll never know.

I guess I should play around with her until I make a permanent decision. It's between her and Yukiko now.

IMO if you're just starting and want to play Yukiko, I would actually play Labrys first to learn the game. Yukiko as a zoner is arguably a bit harder to play and trying to learn her along with learning the game is going to be that much harder. People are going to be rushing you down and with low health, you're going to be dying before you get a chance to learn much.

To all new players that tell me they want to play Yukiko or Liz I always recommend they learn the game with another character first.

Labby is a beginner character? I played her for a short while and dropped her because I found impossible to win with her.

Her basic combos aren't that bad. I just tried her out for a couple of matches. I think I'll stick with her to learn the game.

That's the problem I had with Yukiko. I was doing okay in the beginning and then came across better people who mopped the floor with me.

She's fairly straight forward. You only need to know her auto-combo and cancel into red axe to win rounds easily. Not saying she's the easiest in the game, but she is a good character to start with.

I dunno, I couldn't do any of her combos at all. Then again, I can't do any combos at all.

I'd honestly say Yu is the best for learning the game. He's pretty damn easy to start using, not to mention he teaches all the fundamentals well.

Yea, I heard that from other people.

I honestly wouldn't say any character should be used as -the- starter character. They are all for the most part rather unique compared to each other, so the best way how to play the game with your character is to learn said character. They all get by with different things and utilize different aspects of the system better, so just pick one and commit to learning him/her. For example, Yu gets by alot of pressure easily with his dp, and can punish things most of the others can't, so learning him won't really help if you are trying to learn characters that need a stronger defensive base.

This is really a conversation about which characters are the easiest fundamentally, but I wouldn't commit to learning any character but the one you are most interested in playing. Starting well and then hitting a barrier is a natural part of learning the character. If you come across a roadblock, you should clarify what the road block is, and polish the weaker parts of your playstyle that that roadblock exploits. Overcoming these hurdles will naturally make any character feel better for you.

Definitely agree. In the end, it's all about who ya like the most lol.

Well, from since I started the game, I really, really liked Aigis and felt she suit my playstyle because of her zoning tools. But the main reason why I asked who was the easiest was because I didn't want to take on a character that's too difficult to overcome.

So if I wanted to go with someone I really like, I would say Aigis.

So mad I wasted $50 on the other crap. I'll wait it out for a stateside shipment at my local Kunokuniya for a bit cheaper price tag.

maybe by balance they mean fixing bugs like that IK one.

i'd be down for a balance patch... but this is entirely unannounced and i don't think japanese arcades mentioned getting it did they?

Last thing ASW even sent messages of was them promoting the new mook. Would be really shady to promote a product that is outdated one day later. No news of a arcade patch. I think it's just bad wording. Only a bug fix.
