Heatpark Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I like to point out beforehand that I am not questioning the credibility of the frame data currently available in the Dustloop wiki (http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=BlazBlue:_Continuum_Shift_Extend) with this thread. How do people get such accurate measurements of frame data? There were so many properties to attacks which I never even knew it existed (like P1 and P2) and it surprised me how this one website contains all the data for every character. Are these data obtained from the game disc? Do people test them all out and make calculations manually? Or does ASW just release them on the Internet?
KayEff Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 all the information in the frame data is based off of the BBCSEX mook, which if i recall correctly, is done by a team of individuals outside of ASW. how they manage to obtain these values is not particularly known, but their findings are incredibly accurate, which is good enough for most of us.
Airk Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 If I had to guess, since the Mook is "official" even though it's done by a company outside Ark Sys, that ASW probably provides the data. There really doesn't seem to be any other feasible way for them to get this sort of precision without like, reverse engineering the game data, which seems like it'd be a lot of time and dubious legality.
Heatpark Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 So it's from the BBCS: EX mook. Does that apply for the hitboxes of each characters as well?
KayEff Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 the hitboxes are extracted from the game itself, thanks to shtkn's work.
Heatpark Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Thank you for your answers. I was quite worried for a while when I couldn't view some of the character's hitboxes for a while (like Tager and Tsubaki's).
shtkn Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 i didn't create hte program taht extracts the hitboxes, someone who afaik wishes to remain anonymous did the main work (if this is not the case mr./mrs. anonymous, please let me know). i only did some minor cleanup work and got them online. not all hitboxes are shown and not all hitboxes were properly extracted so there may be errors in what we're showing.
