Ice Prince Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Eddie, atleast since Slash, had gaps in his pressures which why you would often see good eddie players have lil eddie attacking on the ground while regular eddie is jumping up and down spamming j.K Just to simply reduce the chances of players jumping out. This is also true. It is fun to watch a good Eddie though. I hope Ogawa comes back for AC. Although I hear the player "Shadow" is pretty high up in AC atm.
Jet Set Dizzy Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 YEA! won a match against a non extreamly crappy player. And it happened to be of all chars.

Jet Set Dizzy Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Did anyone else get the Order Sol vs. Slide Head video? NA, NANDATTEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!???????? If thats the slide head loop id like to see that too. Haha, well then, I'm excited for ya DN.
Zakuta Asura Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 The video explains some stuff with Order Sol against Potemkin's Slide Head. I would explain more, but I don't know a whole lot of Japanese, but it shows some stuff like Order Sol stand FDing against Slide Head and not getting hit, how the trap effects him in different situations and how he doesn't get hit by Slide Head if he blocks Potemkin's shield super high...though he gets hit by Slide Head if it hits him while he's crouching. Troyboy's Back! Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 If thats the slide head loop id like to see that too Slide Head Loop ?
Teyah Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Surprised that nobody has mentioned it yet, but I would like to add that this: Eddie, atleast since Slash, had gaps in his pressures which why you would often see good eddie players have lil eddie attacking on the ground while regular eddie is jumping up and down spamming j.K Just to simply reduce the chances of players jumping out. This is also true. ...is not at all correct. Eddie's j.K leads into the natural dj/land+low mixup. He's not simply doing it to not allow the enemy to jump away - grounded moves such as Shadow P, 2K, and 2D are most commonly used against potential jumpers. Also, gaps in (Slash) Eddie pressure are short and generally well-covered by the shadow, and by no means long enough to escape via slow specials like Millia's 11F Slash Disc or hittable Roll.
Ice Prince Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 When I said the pressure, I meant as in mid to full screen pressure, not corner pressure. A good Eddie can keep you pretty tangled up there. However, when he's actually getting you to the corner, you have viable options to use to escape depending on what they are doing.
Teyah Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 In the corner during a gap, I could also easily throw an S or FB disc considering how fast they can come out to interrupt it. Slash Disc isn't going to work to counter shadow pressure due to slow startup (CH state hurts as well). FB Disc may work if it activates in the first few frames, but even then Eddie could just use Shadow to hit you while he backs away or possibly keeps himself above the Disc via dj.. still risky though, especially since FD jump seems a faster/safer way to escape.
CrimsonDisaster Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Ice Prince: what Eddie are you judging this by? Good Eddie pressure has gaps for sure, but those gaps are hella dangerous. In the time it takes for you to input a 236 motion, you might have already eaten a 2K/2D into combo. FD jumping is a much better escape than any kind of non-invincible special move. this game is about to

Oh I know what you mean Crimson. Good Eddie pressure is horrid, but you won't always run into good Eddie pressure from alot of Eddie's you face. I was just throwing ideas out. But yes, FD jump is a good option as well. I'm glad you mentioned it.
Pinion Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 this game That's what I was thinking when I saw those Pot vs. HOS vids. Ah well, if those quirks are exclusive to just HOS we'll find a way to play that match safely I'm sure.
rtl42 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 i was talking to a friend of mine who's seen that same glitch in another game, and at least from what we gathered from the visuals (i haven't deciphered the japanese), it looks like you can avoid getting knocked down as long as you're already in blockstun. maybe someone can clarify that, though.

I don't think this is true, because I thought that was the point of the slidehead loop. The glass puts you in BS while you can't block slidehead.
frcflyingjohnny Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I know... but it really is BS that HOS is the only one to get the trick.
