stinkymonz Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'm sort of trying to find a quick early-match midscreen OD combo for Plat, that would function the same way Litchi, Ragna or Noel can. Like Noel can do something like standing 5B 5C odc dash 5B 5C 5D 623D for at least 3k midscreen off something she wouldn't have gotten anything out of otherwise. You guys think Plat has anything like that? I've been messing around but it seems like there's little a midscreen odc can give her. gatling into 3C odc knocks back way too far, other odcs don't seem to allow anything much better than she would've gotten otherwise. Goal would be to get a 6C or 2C you wouldn't get otherwise, I suppose. I just want to be able to get 2 ODs in a round like the grown-ups do ;_;

I don't know how Noel's OD works but Ragna and Litchi gain special properties or additional attacks on some of their moves while in OD, which makes it easier for them to go into some damaging combos. Unfortunately for Plat, none of her abilities gain special properties. The only way I can see her being able to take advantage of an OD combo like that would be off something like 2B > 5B > cOD > 66 5D (Pan) > Stuff if you're too far away for the Pan to connect under normal circumstances or something like 2B > 5B > cOD > 3C > 66 5A > 5C > Hammer stuff. You don't want to use 5C because it pushes the opponent hella back.

As in, she can even hit crawling Taokaka with it? 6C is a low crush, so it beats most if not all low profile moves in the game. It's especially useful against Taokaka players who constantly spam attacks that low profile 5A and 5B. There's nothing really stupid about it as it's fairly risky to use and can be countered with Taokakas 5B due to the slow startup. Besides why would you even crawl anywhere near platinums 6C range? Like her 2B that even pushes her forward a bit, or 2A that outright beats most of platinums lows? But then again Platinum isn't one of those characters you really want to crawl against. Crouching under missiles and bubbles gives platinum player a chance to 66C her up. 3C poke is also fairly devastating against crawlers in that position as not only will the 3C hit but the missile or bubble as well.

And as a tao player you want to crawl under plat a fuckton, since it obliterates her 5a/5b l0l. then again tao can just 2a under our 5a, also tao's crouching hurtbox is retarded wow im getting annoyed i have a lot of combos. im going to make a cmv when i get my hands on some recording equipment

Hey look, I landed a j.C, too bad that I didn't do it low enough and now I'm not even at range to confirm with 66 5A. Hey look, the opponent was crouching when I landed my starter and 5C > 6C works in this game. Too bad that 5C pushed them too far for the 5C > 6C gatling to connect. I miss CSE Plat and none of her new stuff is going to make up for all the stuff that she lost ;_;
Cirno Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 5c and j.c pushback is annoying, but i'm more annoyed at how short persia is, and how far 3c pushes back. persia route would be so much better if it could be done from further away. i'm also annoyed that j.c gets its hitstun nerfed (especially ch), but jin j.c ch hitstun gets buffed? yeah ok. 6a not floating anymore also really frigging sucks. all things considered though, i'm still really enjoying her. she's a struggle as usual, but i definitely feel like she can still outplay other, stronger chars. litchi though.. give persia anything lower than 6f projectile invul startup, decrease her pushback on certain normals, make persia distance longer, make 6b not fucking garbage l0l
Moy_X7 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I think I'm just going to wait for her to get buffed in the next game and let's not kid ourselves because she is in dire need of some buffs. She's damn near close to CS Rachel in this game in terms of the harshness of her nerfs compared to her buffs lol. It's one thing to play a character that's hard to win with as long as you're having fun (CSE Jin). It's another to play a character that's hard to win with but you're not even having fun anymore ... CP Plat ;_;

Anybody else here often forget that Plat has Happy Magica? I think it being a charge move has something to do with that for me.

I also enjoy dropping chests near opponents and seeing if they decide to either run straight into it or just sit in one spot. I'm still having fun with her even though I'm drop dead terrible. Did they change how 22C works after Mami in this game? You used to be able to 22C to chase people, too. I mean, it wouldn't hit (unless you did the forward jump trick and they rolled), but it got you there pretty fast.

Still fun to play but either there's a lot of things we need to get used to or she's just not broken enough for this game right now : P
