I've looked through the match finder thread and I haven't found one in or near my area (and I can't afford to travel right now). So I figured I go to a pretty big school that I could try and see if I can get something started in my area.

I'd like to hear what you guys have to suggest, and maybe some "do not do this" advises as well.

If you have not done so already, see if your school has a fighting game club or gaming club. If there is none then create your own and see how many people are interested and show up to club meetings/activities. If you do create your own club be prepared to bring your own equipment (i.e. consoles, controllers, screens, etc. etc.).

I Know there was someone else in Eugene(who probably isn't you), but I can't for the life of me remember who. There's people in Portland if that is worth the occasional trip. God this is going to drive me nuts.

Anywho, starting a club works better with as many experienced players as you can get at the start, because core membership will have a lot of impact on things going forward.

I figured I'd have to haul my PS3 around for that. Would it be better to see if my school offers lending out screens or anything like that? I don't have a safe way to carry my own TV out and back from my room.
