ehuangsan Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 darn, can't go; guess someone will be keeping my Aquapazza throne warm for me while I'm gone.
PhaethonH Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 As a side note, I'm looking for (volunteer) people to help run parts of the tournaments and smooth out the event, for up to an hour cumulative. Activities may include: tracking match results; calling/announcing matches; fetching players; changing/swapping equipment; floor traffic control. Aspiring TOs (Tournament Organizers) welcome. This call for volunteers also extends for SuperNCI in March.
Spartan257B Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I can help with tracking match results/calling and announcing matches.
ShelledMenace Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Y-you can use me however you like...b..but it's just for one day!
DJcream Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Chance. GET! Anyways, I've already talked to Myung and Chun about handling the Smash portion of the tournament. As a fair warning, I've managed to wake a sleeping dragon and it sounds like over 30 people will be coming in for Melee alone (I hella didn't expect that TBH). I'll be willing to help out in other ways this tournament.
PhaethonH Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 @DJcream: I was expecting a large turnout for SSBM anyway (b/c they always do). Also, I want to make it abundantly clear to the Melee community that they'll need to bring their own setups. They're likely accustomed to that, but I don't want assumptions biting us later. BTW, is there a hotspot for SSBM@NCI communication that I can lurk in? @Spartan257B, @ShelledMenace, @haketh: thanks! Current plan is to use Challonge for brackets, so getting familiar/not-lost in it beforehand can help. Also, furniture-shuffling. :/ I'm probably forgetting a few other things, too...
DJcream Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 BTW, is there a hotspot for SSBM@NCI communication that I can lurk in? I made a cross post on SmashBoards (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=332843), but most of the activity is goin' on in an invite-only Facebook Group where the tournament is currently a pinned topic with over 50 replies. Imma be updating the Smashboards info with setup information I've been getting through FB over the weekend.
PhaethonH Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 @DJcream: I spotted a discrepancy. I posted 2v2 for Melee, but smashboards post says 1v1. I assume your post is more accurate, but I'm pinging other channels as well.
Shining Aquas Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I'd be perfectly happy to help with anything. I think I mostly just lurk at the tournaments now anyways, since I never win at anything 8[
haketh Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 @Spartan257B, @ShelledMenace, @haketh: thanks! What tim do you want helpers there?
magz Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Won't be able to make it, but will tune into the stream.
PhaethonH Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 What tim do you want helpers there? I'm thinking 2:15. That should give enough time to plan out any furniture shifts and prep the computers.
PhaethonH Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 First post updated with [thread=15801]results[/thread].
ShelledMenace Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 SNCI this month on the 23rd, though there's still a not-NCI on the 2nd lol.
totoroslayer Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 NCI - Fake edition https://www.facebook.com/events/508461609192624/?ref=3
StayFree( ' 3') Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 What games will be at SNCI? ...most likely fraudulent ones that rhyme with "god damn"
Shining Aquas Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I'm assuming Super NCI is happening tomorrow, yes? What are the odds of Arcana Heart 3 dollar tourney?
