Young Navigator Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 XBL P4A denizens: My name is Clinton Bowman, and I am a P4A player, much like everyone else here. I am a big fan of this game, and I would love to expand the scene out a little more. As a result, I have started a Twitch channel (twitch.tv/radioinfluenceDOTcom,) as well as acquired streaming equipment. With the plethora of P4A players around here, I would be more than willing to get everyone in a position to provide content as well in the form of weekly casuals and/or tournaments. I understand that there are ranbats, and 3v3 seasonal tournaments, but I wish to do weekly events at 8pm EST on Mondays or Thursdays, depending on people's schedules. Anyone have any ideas on how to execute this, or wish to participate, please feel free to reply to this thread, or PM me. Thank you very much for your consideration!
Young Navigator Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 I want to do Netplay. I can also do local at my apartment in Queens, but I want to focus on Netplay.
Elochai Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 My apologies, I didn't see the fact that it said XBL. Now I feel dumb lol. I'll be down, I guess. I dunno how you would do this without making it a ranbat, unless you just stream sets or something.
Young Navigator Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Streaming sets would be a good idea for it. Maybe FT5 or FT10 sets on stream. With commentary on Skype with myself and anyone that wishes to do it that week. Make it kind of a weekly webisode thing. These are just ideas I have rolling through my head.
Omex Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 If it's an excuse to get matches and practice in, I'll likely do my best to participate.
Tsukahara Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I can use all the Practice I can get, so I will play if I can.
Young Navigator Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 Alright, so here's some ideas that I have fleshed out with the co-host of my FGC podcast tonight after we recorded. *note*: This is all netplay, and will be streamed LIVE 1) Exhibitions on Monday Nights: Whoever wishes to participate in this will get paired off into matches and participate in First to 5 sets as well as: Casual Lobbies on Thursday Nights: Anyone willing to play some casual matches on Thursdays on stream can join up, and play on stream. 2) Monday Nights will be the same as 1, but: We begin Weekly Thursday Night Netplay Championship Tournaments (tentatively named The Ol' Dusty Trail:) This is a great way to grow the community, as well as introduce people to the game while keeping it as casual, yet competitive, as possible. How I would run it would be as such: The first week or two would be to determine a champion who would win the championship (dependent on how many people jump in.) We then have weekly tournaments to determine a Number 1 Contender to that championship. The Number 1 contender would then face the champion immediately after the tournament in a best of 7 series to determine who will be the grand champion going into the next week. The first few weeks will either be double elimination tournaments or Round Robin matches,, again, dependent on how many active participants we get. If anyone has any fixes for these ideas, or even an idea of their own, feel free to let me know! I can't wait to start this as soon as we get a solid idea settled on!
GBS Giovanni Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I'm good for Thursday for this month. Not sure bout April.
strawberry Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I'm down for this. Although, from this and the xbl matchmaking thread a lot of people are East Coast. Same rules as the Ranbats for testing our connection?
iora Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 hope this takes off. my schedule has been much busier so i have not been able to do my thing. best of luck ^^
MastaToken Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I'm game and I'll help with streaming as well if there's a day you can't do it.
