[VS] Netplay Issues

So, I have an issue where my matches will randomly disconnect, and this can happen every 4/5 matches at a time. Has anybody else experienced this issue, and does anybody know why this happens? There's no problem with my connection otherwise (wired, stable).

Occasionally I join a player match and all I see it black backgrounds. I can hear interaction w/ the confirm button. Odd

Are you familiar with port forwarding, and if so have you done it yet??? Usually that eliminates quite a few netplay issues that don't involve the game itself...
