slghslnfs if GG1 is the main story and GG2 is the continuation of the main story and Ky is in both clearly I-No saving him during the Holy Wars is entirely meaningless.

As I mentioned earlier, there's ALOT os inconsistency within the Guilty Gear world, and instead of fixing it Ishi just said "make a self contained universe taking only the essentials into account!"

Nothing in GG is canon except Overture....according to Ishi-kun :psyduck:

He never said it wasn't canon, he said it was a sidestory. It was not the main plot of the world, it was an excuse to keep making fighting games. "What can we do that lets us introduce a bunch of new characters and have them battle against each other for all-or-nothing victory without seeming like a total load?" == GG Storyline Creation.

Well..it isn't that it's not canon..I think he just doesn't want to deal with it, like I believe you have said. He made it, it exists. It's just one of 3+ timelines he now has created. I am just too damn stubborn to believe X and XX are not canon after the time I have put in to reading up on them.

It's pretty much like this. GG1 exists and is relevant. GG2 exists and is relevant, supposedly. GGX, XX, etc. all exist, but they're minor stories, taking place over the span of about a year, and on the whole they lead to nothing. If you were to trail all of these storylines to their very end they'd last a few years at max before finally becoming irrelevant to the world around it. They were self-contained tales, used to justify a bunch of people fighting each other near-constantly. The fact that any given Guilty Gear game contains some 40 non-canon endings (i.e., endings that get immediately disproved by other endings or the next game) this really shouldn't come as a surprise to any of you, but oh well. So apparently Ky survived the Holy Wars, with or without I-No's help. He fought in the Second Order of Sacred Knights tournament and Sol, at some point, defeated Justice. MANY YEARS PASS and Ky's got a kid and a kingdom, Sol's still a vagrant, and whatever happened to the other characters is irrelevant to the core story of the game. So the other characters don't NOT EXIST, they just don't factor in anymore.

Again noncanon is a bad word, gaiden is what I should've said, side stories...what ifs if you will, but the main point being that all you know about the Guilty Gear world is not it's true form, he doesn't feel like fixing crap, and instead of just erasing crap he goes and says it's additional side story. However he has a vision of a main story which he's trying to get back to (thus is born Overture) and he's trying to keep only what is needed to tell the main tale of the Guilty Gear world.

...nothing is being erased. Why do people keep insisting on erasing things? It's all still there, but none of it is relevant to GG2's storyline. The world at large has moved on. Whatever issues existed were resolved. It's fairly straightforward.

Hard to say. Since there's a big gap between GGXXAC+ and GG2, and no mention is made of the other characters, there's no telling. We can go by their AC+ endings, but which of those are real and which are what-ifs is, thus far, unknown to us. All we know is that everything in AC+, currently, is either resolved by the time frame of GG2, or has nothing to do with GG2's cast of characters and thusly need not be mentioned.

Bet Millia died...and Eddie died. And anyone wonder what happened to Solaria? Other than second candidate as Ky's wife?

Lol until this moment I can't believe the whole fantastic X/XX storyline which I've devoted isn't canon but the trashy Overture one. Does it really make sense that Ky, originally the leader of the Holy Order, could become a King of a kingdom that it own existence doesn't really match the real world-or the modern one as it should be- in such a short time (no longer than 10 years since King Ky looks still very young) ?( unless he raised his own kingdom) Doesn't it really make sense that "the fact" that Ky died in Holy War and I-No's existence apprently help with revealing the relationships between the characters ?.

Honestly, the word "love" can't characterize Ky, who's never had a strong feeling or desire for anything or anyone( Actually I may say Sol and Justice).

Blah Blah so many things to say____

And maybe with the drop of GG2's sales, we can look forward to the TRUE canon version of the whole series, GG3 sorta things.

O yeah GG3.

I wonder what the storyline will be.

i Hope that the story in GG3 will be the TRUE cannon. and not some gaiden one. Or poeple are gonna cry :gonk:

I still prefer to say that the X series is noncanon, although gaiden may sound like a prettier term for it. The attempt to justify the horrible inconsistencies and complete lack of true canon in the GG world remind me of "The Crisis of Infinite Earths" that DC created. They realized that unlike Marvel they didn't manage the multiverse very well, and had never designated which reality in the multiverse was official canon... so in an attempt to save themselves from their terrible foresight, and poor writing, they destoryed the multiverse during a comic event. This left only 1 reality and set the stage for the inane lack of creativity from the mainstream DC studio, leaving the only creative minds in DC to become part of Vertigo (which is owned by DC :vbang:).

So, essentially we can say the story of GG goes like this:

Guilty Gear: The Missing Link

Guilty Gear X: By Your Side

Guilty Gear XX: The Midnight Carnival (Including Judgement, Isuka(?))

Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus (conclusion of XX: Midnight Carnival series)

Guilty Gear 2 Overture (A LOT of the cast from X and XX are forgotten or no longer have a part in the story, it is the DIRECT sequel to The Missing Link, but X and XX are side stories between 1 and 2.

I've seen the pictures. I have also seen the very canon gallery picture with a shirtless Sol holding a barely dressed Dizzy as he breaks chains. :kitty: Has there been a gallery picture where he is shirtless holding a barely dressed Ky? I didn't think so. Therefore I have come to the conclusion that Sol prefers incest relations. :eng101:

Incest is best? We need a "Crisis on Infinite Guilty Gears" thread where we just point out all the blatant problems with the continuity of the series.

LOL

As long as it's not Daisuke's art, it's not that valuable.

And

I'm wondering why Daisuke didn't choose another one of his designs of King Ky.( Have you seen them ?. Hilarious !:yaaay: )Know why ?. Its more, much more persuadable, especially to fangirls like me. To be honest, the current King Ky doesn't look like a man with wife and a child at all.

I agree, instead of looking like a family man, he decided that Ky needed to look gay. :psyduck:

well, i enjoy the story of gg, but in my opinion all of this disscusion of what story is cannon and what not its merely pointless, who cares, lets only enjoy, as we see everyone has their own theory, and everyone want that their favorite characters take a major role in the story of gg, and more importantly no one will be satisfied by the theories posted here.

imo Ishiwatari wants to tell us a group of diferent stories that are connected betwen them in a way and another, and some other fans (like the ones who made the drama, manga, novels) want to tell their stories inside that world.

And its common on a running tale that the story teller wants to retell the story in another point of view, i rewrited my comic like 4 times when i was making it, because ill never get satisficed by how it was going with the time, maybe he has the same feeling, maybe he feels that the story its not going where he wanted and he needs to start over again, from the starting point.

No, we're all fanboys to some degree. It's just the intense ones that get on my nerves. They're the ones that ruin it for people. My most hated are Square-tards who think that EVERYTHING square-enix touch turns to solid gold.

(sorry for the very late post) like unlimited saga

maybe Dizzy dressed him up? She prly told Ky to shave and keep his bisho body. Sin is more muscular than his father.
