Dreize Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I never used to lose to darkassasin like I do nowadays. In-fact, If I remember correctly I used to win much more often than I'd lose. He has clearly improved, as both a player and in the Valkenhayn match-up. He's one of the few players that can actually consistently block 6C on reaction (it's gotten to the point where I don't even bother using it on him anymore because it's simply ineffective). He also seems to understand how basic wolf mix-up works. Low, high, low, high, etc (w[5A x N] > 5C > j.A > w[5A x N] > 5C > j.A) and is able to react to it accordingly unless I mix things up. As of recent, he's also starting to mash me out of certain forms of wolf mix-up. Which is extremely frustrating for any Valkenhayn player (but I still do commend him for doing it). He's also getting quite good at IB'ing a lot of my stuff. Also, tk.236D and 623D are a pain for someone such as myself. But, above all else. In neutral, he just gets it. Plain and simple. When I face most other Vita netplayers, I feel as though I control the pace of the match at almost all times. With people such as him and givinguponlife, I don't. givinguponlife's Platinum confuses the crap out of me, and her amazing corner oki doesn't help my cause. I'm truly quite bad at blocking and dealing with Jin's gimmicky pressure as well, so that doesn't help either. But, at the end of the day. I'm simply being outplayed by better players. There's nothing else to it. I'm certain that I'll improve in due time though, as I'm quite content with putting work in.
Safros Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I'm not saying that he's a bad player or that he hasn't improved. He is a good player and he has improved. My problem is that I never feel like I can play at my best against him because of the ever present input lag. It doesn't really matter if I win or lose, I simply end up feeling disappointed with the way I played. However, I do have to agree that his neutral game is excellent. ... Thanks Bignick, I simply cannot get enough of your amazing and completely unpredictable pink grabs. GGs. Although I do admit that your lag switch really makes my Tager's command grabs shine.
Dreize Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Yes, well. Wireless Vita netplay leaves much to be desired in the "strong connection" department. When/if I get a ps3 I'll happily be using a wired connection. Though, I do very much appreciate the Vita's accessibility and convenience. Financially speaking I'm perfectly fine, but dealing with others is going to be a pain. But alas, tis our current situation. Oh well.
NecroTheReaper Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 But if you go to ps3, unless you can do remote play with vita you have to deal with the shitty dpad Dx more people, but I can't control for crap on ps3
Bibiquadium Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Vita's dpad is pretty ass, been trying to play this game on it recently and I'm way too used to play on stick to deal with this, so I'll use that as an excuse to learn a sub and witness its terrible netplay.
NecroTheReaper Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Well, same could be said of anything that's changed like that xD, like there's no way Id be able to switch from vita to stick just because vita is my comfort zone, anyway. I wanna play CP dammit
hipikachu Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Vita's dpad is pretty ass, been trying to play this game on it recently and I'm way too used to play on stick to deal with this, so I'll use that as an excuse to learn a sub and witness its terrible netplay. Well, it all boils down to preference. But TBH, it really isn't fair for you to compare playing stick to playing pad on Vita, they're completely different control schemes. I find the PS3 pad kinda frustrating but playable, and the Xbox pad gut-wrenching. Try playing GG on a Gamecube controller. It'll open your mind to different fighting game peripherals. Congrats to Vita matchfinder thread breaking the hundred-post mark.
NecroTheReaper Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Indeed, I take full credit on that xP xD jk btw, your thumb/finger/filange fixed up yet? I wanna try your haz on good terms to know if I have issues with good hazamas dE
Dreize Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 But if you go to ps3, unless you can do remote play with vita you have to deal with the shitty dpad Dx more people, but I can't control for crap on ps3 If I get a ps3, I'm getting an arcade stick. Plain and simple. These silly d-pads and analog sticks are absolutely horrendous. Plus, I want to be able to pull off the w[j.A] IOH consistently.
Bibiquadium Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Once I learn how to super jump properly and micro dash inputs it'll be over, but for now I'll just heart car everything.
hipikachu Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Plus, I want to be able to pull off the w[j.A] IOH consistently. You can. WITH THE REAR TOUCHPAD MWAHAHAHAHA~
NecroTheReaper Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 -cry- why can't I beat anyone with a 90% won ratio @.@
Dreize Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Win ratio's on netplay mean little to nothing for the most part.
Dreize Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 He's a better player than you are. Plus, I was told that he's been playing since CT. So he definitely has a good bit of experience.
NecroTheReaper Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I know, but its good practice even though I'm occasionally "wtf, there wasnt a rod there!" In the matches xD really good for blocking practice, plus I remembered that relius had a CA for once
Bibiquadium Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I mash Mami Circular and have something like a 90% win ratio. And people with high level/PSR that are about to lose to me just cut the cable to avoid losing their PSR. Netplay.
Dreize Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 You live in Montreal while I live in Toronto, and as a result we are relatively close and may be able to get some actual games in sometime. Heart car mash on Vita netplay is a viable strategy against most. Sadly. I wouldn't even bother playing ranked to be quite honest with you. It's tedious at best. I have a 91% win ratio for beating players that are even worse than myself. Not to mention the fact that there are ragequitters galore. Ah well.
NecroTheReaper Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I will admit, I got my red name probably the week I started playing online. And I regret it -sigh-
darkasjinksu§ Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Connection-wise, I feel that the better delay 0's are playable, and that 1 and over is a godsend. Although I never quit because of connection (I prefer to let them kick me or leave the lobby instead), It's always nice to get matches where you can actually pull off your combos. I do have amazing internet speed, at least.
NecroTheReaper Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Mine use to suck hobestly then the people told us our internet plan no longer existed so they upgraded us xD and hmm... you're one player I hear people talk about that I have yet to witness wreck my face : O
Bibiquadium Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 It's playable, but then as soon as I switch back to Makoto it's not viable anymore, I guess I'll stick to Platinum unless I really find better connections/get more used to the D Pad.
