Zeero Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 also noticed the FRC on jhs sword is a LOT quicker now and u can combo afterwards... lots of possibilities there (kinda want to do that old ggxx combo with the 6p js jhs rc js jhs land whatever lol) but since the js angle is a lot higher now... probably not possible... but jhs frc would do something... mmm... maybe something like 5s 2hs jhs frc jd land 66 js jk js dj js jd? im making things up lol... but cant blame me for being excited about AC zappa!! :D

Maybe it'll be a neat mini-loop. So something like Raoh Uppercut RC, IAD HS, IAD S-HS, 6HS, Darkness Anthem, 6HS, Darkness Anthem, etc., etc.?

Yeah as of right now it appears that Raoh actually got buffed more than nerfed. I don't know of any nerfs that were made to Raoh. As of right now Raoh looks even more broken than before!!!
Dangief Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I did see in a vid using the downward DA to bring them back up after a slide, so it looks like we can jHS bounce them across the screen until the corner where the new loop works. I'm going to miss the old wallbouce one because it was so much fun, but Raoh is looking even stronger now than he ever was. Add to that the fact that it is easier to get him now because of unsummon and Zappa is looking hot.
Zoogstin Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Yeah I saw the OTG thing with DA aswell. Finally all of Zappa's summons are good. All he needs now is a better poke game and he'll start winning tournaments more. As of right now a lack of good safe pokes is what hurts him the most.

I've seen Johnny tech out of it and plus most of the latest videos don't even show Zappa finishing with 6hs anymore with the dog. they kind of just have to stop their combo and let the opponent get away because they can't knock them down anymore.
Warakia Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 About the summons - I wonder if the ghosts were returned to the R# style - I really miss the times when i could do four or five 2S in a row, I also used this move during jump-in - opponents blocked high and got hit... It doesn`t work in Slash because it takes quite some time for the first ghost to come back and for the second one to hit, and even if you won`t get hit while it happens, the second ghost will miss... Besides as far as I know the ghosts` explosion hitbox got smaller, and their most damaging move is 6HS... The damage of other moves is smaller - In the Zappa-Ky vid the ghost explosions did little damage... Then again, maybe it`s just me...
Zoogstin Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Well I read that 2S with the ghosts got slower. So sorry. And if the ghost explosions got smaller, I can live with that as long as the active frames are still as long as they have been. That's what makes the ghost explosions so great.
Zeero Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 i believe explosions got smaller, and also block stun got lower, but active time should be the same The new ghost is really like... a poking game, u chip off life very little by little since everything that is related to ghosts (S and HS hits, toss, items) do barely any damage compared to everything else. thats how i feel while playing AC and while wathcing videos now
Dangief Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 That's how they are in Slash too, no big damage, but the space you can control with the ghosts is amazing, even more so now with the punch throw. Your opponent should be sitting frustrated on the other side of the screen with stuff flying everywhere until they are knocked down, then it's jHS time! It sounds like the ghosts are still solid, just no damaging, but that's ok considering the control they give you. And I forget who brought it up, but Zappa DOES have a good safe poke now with 5S, which partially hits low and staggers on normal hit for free run in combo xx summon.

Oh yeah duh. I completely forgot. Nevermind then. :grin: And yeah you won't even begin to see your opponents health guage go down with the ghosts until you actually start comboing with them. Theres no denying how weak they are.
Oiboi Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I think it's safe to say that with all these changes to Zappa, He's going to be a very solid character; Even if the other characters changes outpace him, his new poke, moves, and peculiar new loops (The Raoh HS bounce, the new DA launches, etc.) will make him even more difficult to fight. They're obviously trying to make him easier to play, so that more people will play him, but they still kept him as random and difficult to fight. Suffice to say, I'm liking these new changes.
