Blade Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 So you can have up to 4 layers on screen spritewise... Let's say I wanted to make Stun Nebula a semi-3D effect: w <--Viewer's Eyes Forground Sprite ring half Main Lighting Sprite/Ky's Layer Background Sprite ring half Background itself If this works, I could make some pretty neat hi-rez Ray Divider effects. I'm also wondering if this trick would work for Slashback as that doesn't just get larger but zooms out ala 3D.
2nd_God Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 sounds fundamentally tight for the most part! did you check the forums at mugen nation to see if anyone knew exactly how in fighterfactory to make the layers? if not.. http://www.mugenation.com/forum/index.php you.. might want to go in with a translator http://translation2.paralink.com/ 3-d effects sound BOOOOMBuh:keke:
Aegis High Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Hey guys. It seams that Robo-Jam finally is going to be made for MUGEN http://sokowodokunda.ma-jide.com/ I'm very excited :yaaay:
Blade Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Nice to hear! I've been somewhat delayed due to certain missing sprite edits I'm working on....slowly....
squirrel Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 a good original character is Narayan Maxime by Ryanide if anyone's heard of him. He might not look like much but he's very well made and animated and quite fun to play, and unlike most original M.u.g.e.n. creations, he's apparently quite balanced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwaUlDV26RQ

Blade Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Man, Aegis, when you're done, do you mind helping me with mine? I've got a monstrous setback with mine due to having to wipe my hard drive and put everything on backup.
2nd_God Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Christ~! Her air throw and taunt... dustloop needs a bloody nose emoto. Looks really good man, can't wait to see the final results. I'll have to re-install this game for it ()
Aegis High Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 ROBO-JAM FINALLY RELEASED:yaaay::yaaay::toot: http://sokowodokunda.ma-jide.com/
Blade Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 T-T I'm happy for you, Aegis....someday....someday I'll be done with mine...
Mjskillz Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 y'know that's what I was looking for was software to work on sprites... any sugguestions or I'm I pretty much fucked? Oh, btw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfuirJyZC-E&feature=channel_page
Blade Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I'm currently using a program called "Fighter Factory". Get used to using PNG, GIF, and BMP files, as well as some other weird extensions, and make sure you attach a pallette to everything. Oh...and be aware that Photoshop has a bad habit of flipping your palette upside down.
2nd_God Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 FINALLY.. unbanned~! wow, that seemed like forever. ok.. not that im an exact expert in this feild.. but i've toyed with a few programs.. iDraw3 being one that stands out (if ONLY for the zoom in graphing feature that allows you to paint to the pixel) heres some info on it: http://www.rmxp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=7890 http://www.gamemakergames.com/forum/index.php?topic=6708.0 they mention some other programs in the 9 posts that there are.. i havent encountered those programs although Heres a page that actually has a few links to some programs.. not to mention.. MANY.. MANY names: http://help.forumotion.com/garbage-f4/some-graphics-for-your-use-t17576.htm also, i came across this little tidbit while looking for a direct link to idraw3 for you: http://www.programmersheaven.com/download/16430/download.aspx dunno yet, might be worth a look /editz on 2nd_thought ... disregaurd that link to sprite2.0, as it is purely garbage (the one in quotation marks)
Blade Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Question: If you were gonna create a sprite similar to Sol's sprites, but on the scale and quality of a Blazblue sprite...how would you go about doing that?
2nd_God Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Me personally? step 1 - photoshop for quality (saves better resoluted sprites to .jpeg format) step 2 - paintbrush for re-sizing step 3 - anything besides the above mentioned programs for pallette actualizing step 4 - and/or multiplied to the square root of and divided by presented as a fraction numenator over
Blade Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 So apparently somebody's working on a PSP Homebrew equivalent of Infinitycat. It's essentially a Mugen clone, but you have to convert file formats to fit it. Something to consider, playing Mugen on the go.
2nd_God Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 what no link? aaaand, why are they not making it for the ds?
Blade Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 First read it here: http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=65963 Dunno how old that thread is though. As for DS...I dunno, you sure it could handle it? I don't think the DS is built for file transfer in mind.
2nd_God Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I'd believe so.. it allows you temporarily download entire games to your memery card when 1 party of link play doesnt have the game just find some means of storing it on that, would not be that incredible
Blade Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Again, like I said, it's homebrew, so I dunno if they'll ever make a DS version. Sorry but you may be out of luck.
Patty24 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I can only work with .zip files, is there any way to convert .rar files into .zip files, because I want Robo-Jam and a few others?
2nd_God Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 why yes there is.. www.rarlab.com pick up the latest winrar compressor/decompressor there and fool around with it theres a fairly self-explainatory option of course another easy route to go would be to simply extract the charector to its own directory (inside the chars directory) then manually add the folders name to your mugen.cfg (example: potempkin.zip cliff.zip whoever.zip jam.def orthercharfoldername.def .def forces mugen to search for the definition file of whatever the chars folders name is.. not all that important.. but nice to know whats going on there with that none the less
