This is mainly with Blazblue just let you know.

So I've played Blazblue for about a year now and I know exactly what everything is like a mixup, cross up, anti-air, matchups, high damage combos and etc.

I can execture most of those normally now but I still have a problem with Anti-air's. Because I use Lambda and she has no reversal options, blocking is a real problem. When an enemy approaches, I use to block and hope I block the mixup correctly. I realised only recently that I was missing out on what I could actually do to prevent an enemy dashing in through the air by using things like 5A or 2C. It's only been a week now and it seems to be really useful. It's like it has invulnerablility to air attacks, but now here is the problem.

I may be OVER using it. I see an enemy coming in through the air and I use 5A, but I get outsmarted by a double jump or something. And even sometimes, when I use an anti-air and the enemy is in range, it still get stopped. So far that has only happened to me by Platinum and Hakumen. So, any tips? Is an Anti-Air not completely invincible?

Thanks.

(I really hope this is in the right section.)

What do Hakumen and Platinum do to stop your AAs? And your AA should be 6A, not 5A, outside of certain circumstances.

Or just 6D.

Oh sorry, it is 6A. I'm typing too fast so I'm not thinking. I know her appropiate AA, I only use a 5A against a Hazama.

Platinum has her HUGE Fan when she uses her powered up version of magical frying pan.

Hakumen somehow is able to get through it with that kick of his, I think it's j.5B. But his j.2c can also do it too.

You are playing Lambda. A lot of her defense is not being in the wrong spot in the first place. In other words, instead of trying to run up and AA them a lot of the times it is better to just airdash back or backdash so you have room again. But if they really are getting in your face, you should be able to AA them. 6A can be beaten by Hakumen if he spaces it right, but only if you do it too early. You basically want to get in real deep and 6A only then.

If you're farther away though you can just 6D them in the face for airdashing at you.

Yeah -- a lot of the time, you want to avoid placing yourself in a situation where you need to AA, since Lambda is comfortable when there's good space between you and your opponent.

They are not completely invulnerable. There is time after your character starts to do it where they can still be hit by air moves before they become invulnerable to them. For Lambda, her 6A has head invul from frame 5 to frame 13 and her 2C has head invul from frame 11 to frame 34. Outside of that time period, they can be hit normally like any other move.

You should consider using 5A more. While it doesn't have any invul, it is quick, has lots of active frames and it recovers quite fast. If you can learn the spacing and which moves it works against, it is pretty nice.

For the moves you mentioned, you typically shouldn't challenge Plat's super fan directly with any normal. The hitbox on that thing is amazing and it would be better to just block it or put enough space so you can just use D swords to anti air her.

You can 6A Haku's IAD jB but the timing feels weird for it and it is a different timing than his IAD j2C, so you guessed wrong, you are screwed. You can use 5A to trade with IAD jB and it will beat IAD j2C but you gotta know the spacing for it. Best to just IAD jD/j2D or dash under him. If they are using them after a double jump, 2C is great to use since it has head invul for a long time and will beat both of them.

Of course if you can, you typically just want to D your opponents to death and avoid having to be close to them but sometimes you don't have that choice so hopefully this helps for those situations. And if you have more Lambda specific questions, you might want to post them in the Lambda board since the people there use Lambda mostly.

Natuarally. ;)

Thanks though.
