Doomscyther Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 It took me 2 weeks of lot of playing to learn the "arcade layout" on pad. Shyt was painful.
ParryPerson Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Open invitation if anyone wants to learn ST with me in Shreveport. I think Kobe might be down to at least try...

AlwaysDizzy Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Man, if you're playing KOF 98 I'll play you in it parry. (This is Stone on Leonard's account, btw)
Kurumster Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 So I just totally figured out that my playstyle is flawed. I'm going to try a completely different approach when it comes to playing. Hopefully it turns out to be a good thing.

Doomscyther Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 On your next day off parry, we gotta play some games. So Steve, how does it feel to FD with 2 buttons and FRC with 3?
Kurumster Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 FDing has gotten better and easy. I've yet to frc right though. My jumps look sexy as hell. Main reason I can't frc is because I can't do my discs. 236 motion is hard as hell for me right now.

ParryPerson Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 lol one button FD is probably the most scubby thing ever, imo, to macro. as for the SRK MOVEMENT (fuck yo numbers) just think of pressing forward before you do a 236. I know you like doing things the correct way but do this for now, then slowly just stop the last forward motion, and learn to "dig" into the gates bottom right corner, unless your stick does not have a square gate in which case GL. To learn on stick you really should have a square gate, as it makes feeling the corners a lot easier. Try just walking forward and then doing the 23 then slowly turning that into a twitch motion. EDIT: Sorry, I thought you said 623, which is understandable.... how the hell do you not know how to 236 on a stick lol. Hold it like a wineglass, I use it between my pointer and middle, alot use it between index and middle. There is a vid of the way diago holds his stick somewhere, and a thread on another forum about how to hold your stick and get used to it coming from pad.
vegta12 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 when your button that is set for FRC can also be used to FD, why have the need to press 2 buttons.
Kurumster Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Okay Parry I'll try that. I just hate when I knockdown, roll, then do 4H instead of my disc And what Joe said.

There is a vid of the way diago holds his stick somewhere, and a thread on another forum about how to hold your stick and get used to it coming from pad.My stick (as well as it being my first stick) is a Hori RAP1 which has square gate. It was a tad difficult getting used to at first, but I really like square gate compared to octagonal gate. I find it more helpful and easier. when your button that is set for FRC can also be used to FD, why have the need to press 2 buttons. It's easier to FRC and FD on stick because of the fact that you have your fingers more spread out. Kinda like playing Tekken on pad. Even though you're on pad, your performance is much better when you learn to play with 2 fingers instead of your thumb. Okay Parry I'll try that. I just hate when I knockdown, roll, then do 4H instead of my disc And what Joe said. There's a 4H? :8/:
vegta12 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 i play with 2 fingers and a thumb on pad anywayz ure flawed shiro!

Yeah it only seems harder at first, knowing where your corners are *for sure* can save your ass a lot of times.
