solidshake Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Next random question: When would you use 6P over 5HS for AA; and the reverse: 5HS as opposed to 6P? depends on what you are AAing, imo. sometimes I get in trouble for trying to 5H slayer's j.H or johnny's j.H, where 6P would have saved me a CH, though I don't do it much myself. on the other hand, a 5H's CH turns into damage no matter where you are. that being said, 5H's bizarre gumby-like hitbox gets me out of all sorts of weird shit
Sesshyru Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 lv2 Rock It into fafnir is pretty easy on anyone that doesn't float like a chick. easy knockdown if you don't mind spending the tension. Hum... I wonder what the damage is compaired to RC -> D.loop -> no kd that being said, 5H's bizarre gumby-like hitbox gets me out of all sorts of weird shit lol hence the question. 5HS and 6HS are so werid. Gets you outa Danzies and wakeup reversal supers... Even May Dolphins some times..
Kamui Moon Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Hum... I wonder what the damage is compaired to RC -> D.loop -> no kd a lot to a little+knockdown. fafnir should really only be used when you're midscreen, imo. corner you can rc into dustloop or dashing 5Sc into loop.
Tsak Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Where you come from?? Long time no type to. You goin to NEC? :bad: prolly i dunno depends if my bro is and he probably is
Sesshyru Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 a lot to a little+knockdown. fafnir should really only be used when you're midscreen, imo. corner you can rc into dustloop or dashing 5Sc into loop. Or vs ABA >_>!... prolly i dunno depends if my bro is and he probably is We should room again $p You 2 are halarious.
Tsak Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 ill try not to break into someone else's exact replica of a car lol j/k its cold as hell in philly tho im liking midscreen fafnir after rockit level 2 it fits my lazy profile also if people get a little dicey after seeing you toss down a fafnir they might think its gonna become big damage and it might squeel a burst out of them or not i dunno probably only americans
WUT Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 If I'm spending Tension after a Lvl2 RI it's usually AC FRC dashing 5S© into combo. More damage than Fafnir and it works on the floaty bitches. That said, it's also a pain to do. Midscreen it's really not worth the tension just for a KD. I tend to shy away from any combo that involves RI until I get near the corner. Unless I want a 5HS tech trap, of course.
Sesshyru Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Next random question: What FRC's do you mainly use and when? I use BR FRC and all AC FRC's pretty regularly, but I have been messing around with gunblaze FRC since after seeing that combo vid; but that is one hard FRC to hit.
Tsak Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 mainly SV AC FRC, GB FRC, BHB AC FRC other then that i really don't use any others whats with the random questions can't take this to general discussion?
Sesshyru Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I dunno, this place been dead. I could stop if its annoying peeps. Besides it helps me out a lot believe it or not. It is combo related. Wat else am I gona do? You and Destin abandoned me!... I did not know you could Fafnir after lvl 2 RI for a KD. Gona use that vs ABA all dang day.
Sophisticat Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Anyone know where I can find a list of EX HOS combos? All I can do is stuff into dustloop. For that matter, how do you play him? He's like an alien entity compared to regular HOS.
JG Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Quick question, is there any reliable combos with CC? I was practicing the 2D, CC, 5K,5c.S on the corner seem to be very good. You can get 2 rep of dustloop from that setup. Ohh well, any good tip for Charge canceling Lv3 Rock It? I’m having a little bit of trouble with that.

I’m having a little bit of trouble with that. If you have level 3 then a great punish combo is 5HS CC 5S 5HS lvl3 BRP/RI -> combo A good tip is what it seems like for me is just finishing the input a little after the 3rd hit strikes. Make sure you perfectly TK it though, anything other than 2149 (that exact input) doesn't seem to work.
Sophisticat Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 You play him by not picking him. Now, now, it's not like I'm trying to use him in a legit match. I'm simply interested in learning him for the sake of variety and as an aid in survival mode. Just messing around with him has already improved my HOS game a bit. In any case, I'm starting to get the idea he's a cross between HOS and Sol, so perhaps an interstitial character embodying the HOS -> Sol transition. Checking out some Sol combos has proved an asset, but I would like to see a complete guide, if there is any.
Nakkiel Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Combo into Tyrant Rave, dustloop off the wallbounce. Combo in to Fafnir, combo in to dustloop. FRC VV, combo in to dustloop. Hit with FB Gunflame, combo in to dustloop. i think you get the picture
Sophisticat Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Swell, that's pretty much what I've been doing until now. FB/overdrive cancel off normals is just Thanks anyway. I guess that's all I need, really.
JG Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Hey people, do you still think that Hos can deal big damage? For some reason I still can´t believe this. It looks like most of his combos doesn’t deal to much damage, except from dustloop and FB combos…. I like this char a lot, but seem that any combo who involve j.p, 2.k and 5.k deal low damage.

Tsak Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 hos has damage opportunities but they aren't fresh like slayers you need CHs moves that will give you these paths for good damage CH GB (preferably lv 1, but lv 3 might give you something... lv 2 you should stay away from) CH 5HS (easy to set up, this is your tech trap move, stuffing certain moves that you are prepared for) CH 2HS (as mentioned, used on oki for maximum effect, stuffs some moves funny, used in footsies for some avail) CH J.H (obviously, its your main CH tool, you will see this come up a lot, though its harder to capitalize off of it will yield good damage if you can do combos) CH fafnir (huge damage, yes and that's not too hard to combo off of) CH 6HS (hard to pull off but easily your best dizzy move, throw another 6HS and you'll be happy about what happens) CH 2D (easy CH, very low profile, CC for combo opt, good as a run in move) CH Savage Fang (lv 1 doesn't give you too much unless your in a corner, same for lv 2, lv 3 on the other hand is your ticket to stupid damage, and with a 1 frame activation you can get some easy CHs if your constantly buffering it lol)
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 You don't really need to CH with Savage Fang to get heavy damage. Every version can be comboed off of, though the level 1 and level 2 versions are more situational since they blow the opponent across the screen. All you really need is enough of an opening to land the move, and with how ridiculously fast it is, that's not hard.
Tsak Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 well yeah now that i think about it just about anything with lv 3 savage fang in it does some hefty damage.. i just got a little too into the CHs hehe
Coinage Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 a funny combo 6HS > RC > 6HS > 6HS if you already hit your opponent a couple of times, this should dizzy them. Dont try unless you wanna just have fun.
