GGs man, those were really intense matches. I was probably using too much 2D, that thing is easy to punish on whiff lol. Which resets were new to you? Seems like you blocked most of them. My main reset is the OD combo>OD 22C/214B>cross-up j.D, but you blocked it pretty easily. You're the second person out of everyone I've ever battled to block it.

 

Also you won more matches but I get the moral victory since the astral score was 1-0.

I thought for sure after I whiffed my first astral in the match that you wouldn't expect the second one in the same round.

Resets... let's see, there was that one where you'd freeze me in the air, then I'd unfreeze just as I was falling towards you and you'd reset me before I hit the ground.

And that one where you'd knock me down with 3C, I think, and if I teched wrong I'd get hit with an overhead or a new combo. Also that one in the corner where you'd do that Jin 22C I think it is, and the SMP would make me tech into another combo. Aaand... I think that's it.

So basically I'd never seen any of them lol

I take it it's too late for either of you to play still? It's fine if so, i'd probably not be up to par considering how late it is.

When the match gets intense and we're both at low health like that, I start expecting everything to go wrong so I flail around and try my best to do neutral while not panicking lol. I considered astral as one of the possibilities of the continuum shift.

 

j.D>5B? That one is used by a lot of Jins, you just barrier to block it. I think you could have j.D countered it too but I dunno Haku details. The 3C one is one you'll also see a lot, but not as much. That 22C one doesn't happen a lot, based on the Jins I fight. I need more gimmicks. And ways to see 6B coming. How many times did you hit me with that

And i've used that reset on you before lmao. But try it out, not a lot of people see it coming because no one expects a reset in the middle of an OD combo. But yeah if they block, you just missed a lot of damage. Still though, most people will feel panicked only because you're in OD, which means their defenses will be easier to break.

Yeah, once I realized it was an air reset I started barriering. At first I thought I was landing and just wasn't blocking right.

Interesting, I haven't really played any Jins since EX. But I've got enough built up experience to get the handle on him since his tricks are usually the same type. A lot of the gimmicks I know are older, but there have been a lot over the years.

That was fun. We should play again sometime. That's it for tonight though. Gotta sleep for work.

Also those scrambles at the end of the round had me feeling like I was playing Tager at some points. Both of us slowly closing in from opposite sides of the screen.

But yeah, those were pretty awesome games, you really keep me on my toes and make me think more about what exactly to do during neutral/under pressure/dealing out pressure. I'm down to play almost every day in the afternoon and night, mainly night. Good luck with the offline netplay in otakon. Make sure the games turn into a slideshow.
