Lord Pwnge18 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Being Kagura is suffering. So, this matchup is total ass. No two ways about it, this is totally in Rachel's favor. So let's break it down... Your goal here like any other is essentially to KNOC EM DOWN. Unfortunately Rachel doesn't like being knocked down, so rarely will she be. At neutral, I would wager that every single one of her buttons is better than Kagura's. Our 2a is pitiful in comparison to hers, her 2a and 6b can completely stuff our 5c and drives, it's pretty much a terrible idea to approach from the air with our weak air game and her godlike 6a. It's incredibly difficult to flash kick anything here, since her pressure will either be super tight or instant overheads, which are obviously a little tough to react to. Any other pressure will just be outside of flash kick's range. Obviously one of your choices will be 6d~c to try and grab her out of a lobelia or something similar. If this was super effective, this wouldn't be as terrible a matchup. She can easily hit you out of the start up or simply wind in whichever direction she pleases to get away fairly easily. It's pretty damn useful for getting in on her, but be wary about it. 2D~B also isn't a terrible option for getting closer, but again, you should be sure that she would at least block it if anything. 5c is decent here, but be sure to use it at max range only. Even at max range Rachel can stuff it with 6b or 2a if she runs in. In this matchup though, you'd probably be lucky if the Rachel chooses to zone. She can keep you totally pinned with her pressure, which you pretty much have to block until she runs out of wind. If Rachel approaches from the air, 5a isn't the worst thing in the world to go to, as doing flash kick probably wouldn't be very safe. From the ground, 5c is very dangerous If by chance you do get a knockdown into B orb oki, it's possible for her to wind tech, completely avoiding the orb. During pressure she has the option to cat chair or mash 2a, so you have to be careful with your pressure. If you can get her to take the orb, you should probably already know the wide arrange of options you have to go to. Hopefully by then you've won the match, because if not you get to deal with her shit all over again. Suffering. Knoc 'em down.
Bill307 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 How do you wind tech with Rachel? I've seen it happen but I'm not sure how to do it in training mode to see if there's any way to stop it.
