Legacy Edge Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) So i got my copy and what the hell guys, this is SO confusing :S already miss lambdy but those act parcers are really cool Edited November 6, 2013 by Legacy Edge
toanenadiz Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Who else is loving Luna's drive being able to go through lesser projectiles? Piercing through Litchi's staff, Kagura's fireballs and Bullet's projectile is fun.
someonewhodied Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I never actually go into luna form outside of combos or being bursted in the middle of a combo. Unless its a nu mirror. Nu mirrors make luna an important part of her toolset.
toanenadiz Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I used to never use Luna but I figure it was a waste for it to just be combo filler so I have been spending a lot of time recently using Luna.
someonewhodied Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 but...what do you do on a drive being blocked? Mode change? Because god forbid asw give us crescent cancel in both forms ;~;
toanenadiz Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Typically nothing. Sometimes gravity well. Sometimes mode change. Occasionally a late 214D if I feel like they are gonna try to IAD towards me afterwards. I treat Luna D moves as long range pokes akin to Litchi's 6B rather than traditional Nu/Lambda drives.
someonewhodied Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Honestly though I just realized how much easier it would make some matchups. I guess which mode you default to depends on the character you are against?
toanenadiz Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Yea. Against Litchi for example, I find the most troublesome thing to be the stick canceling out my swords so I am willing to sacrifice the extra zoning potential Dia gives for a way to punish Litchi launching/setting the staff easily.
someonewhodied Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Mu lasers are a big thing too. I train constantly with Nemesis and well, lasers cancelling out my sword punishes is a big annoyance.
someonewhodied Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Just in: 2C lost its huge hitbox behind us. No longer a cure-all against bang teleports and crossovers. it still works, just not as well. FML
toanenadiz Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Really? I've anti-air'd people behind me with 2C way more than I did in Extend.
someonewhodied Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 It no longer catches jin's IAD j.D crossover or bang's teleport behind you (well it does sometimes)
BloodWolF Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I've seen that happen a lot too. I need to test it out more.
Legacy Edge Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) Jesus Nu is so stressfull... Mashy combos, different mode stuff that you have to remember, coupled with her bad defense. Lambda was too, but Nu takes it to a whole new level. Edited November 13, 2013 by Legacy Edge
someonewhodied Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Lambda was easy compared to this. Honestly the biggest nerf to Nu was the loss of guard primers.
Durkslag Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I hated guard primers after CS1 so I dont mind. I really hate the nerf to counter hit j.B and all Ds, so much harder to pick up anything compared to extend =[
Legacy Edge Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I didn't even came to notice the loss of guard primers, its everything else. Btw im dropping air juggles in retarded ways, such as not jump cancelling. Tried again on extend and had no problems. Someone mention before increased game speed, can it be due to this?
umbrage86 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 For me the game speed threw off my timing initially, it takes some getting used to.
BloodWolF Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I think it's the speed. The game has a lot tighter timing for things it seems. You say "mashy" combos, but I've been worrying so much more about timing everything better (usually putting in a delay of some kind) in all of my combos. I even find my self dropping 3C > 22A > 3C online. It makes me want to shoot myself in the leg.
someonewhodied Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 the only delays I see are [Dia]3C>Delay236D and [Luna]2DD>214D~22A>Delay236D
kenja0 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 2DD > 22A > 6A/3C is a pretty hard link but that's because of the input speed. I'd say the absolute hardest thing to learn about Nu is the side switching combos. I would love to consistently get enemies to go behind me in a combo. The 6623C input is extremely tight (but easier on Counter Hit).
someonewhodied Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 So I've been using 2137D~C>2B a lot as a wakeup reversal against lows. It actually works a lot. I'm surprised.
Errol Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 So I've been using 2137D~C>2B a lot as a wakeup reversal against lows. It actually works a lot. I'm surprised. that would work great against tsubaki. 2b so slow.
AchedSphinx Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 If you guys want to relive CT Nu. Get Unlimited Nu, her 2C comes out insanely fast.
someonewhodied Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Time for: Blockstrings with SWD that you are never gonna have the mentality to do in a real match well I've been doing two that i've done in CSE and just found how much better they work: 1: X>2B>2C>j.214D~C (Not TK)>falling j.C>Reset Blockstring 2: 2B(6)B>IAD>j.214D~C>falling Airgrab Whiff (Punish upbackers)>Reset Blockstring.
