DerQ Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Hard to give feed back on the two first videos since they are letting you do w/e you want at neutral too easily Regarding the Koko match, aside from the first round, you're not being mindful enough of Koko's wakeup options. I saw you do Zettou > j.B > Land + Dash at one point and what happened was Koko teleporting behind you resulting in your dash being a backdash. It's not specifically the teleport, but there was a lot of these flukes tbh (her backdash for instance). Other than that, some of your decisions at neutral were really high in commitment. A few Raibu at neutral suggesting Gekiren attempts, 3 Gosei with no meter from rather high above. Sometimes Koko would punish some of these, not appropriately enough, but putting you at a disadvantage nonetheless. Last, I'd suggest learning/using the corner carry loop [5B(1) > 5C(1) > 236A > j.B(3)] x3 over the hariken cancel loop [5B(3) > 5C(2) > 6C(1) > 236D~D > 2B] x2. Damage on both these routes are fairly similar but having corner and 6D setups that may be guaranteed is worth it over the hariken loop any time.
Cynthetik Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Recently had a local party with a small side tournament which was mostly for fun. (I am pretty sure most of our players were a little tipsy when they were playing lol). Here are my matches from that night. I noticed I was doing a lot of wake up supers that I normally wouldn't do during these matches. Anyways, feel free to critique the matches and sorry for the quiet commentary, we didn't notice how low the mics were until it was too late XD http://www.twitch.tv/taisenkai/b/505672140?t=35m10s Hellfire (Amane) vs Moses (Ragna) http://www.twitch.tv/taisenkai/b/505672140?t=1h6m20s Ryyudo (Litchi) vs Hellfire (Amane) http://www.twitch.tv/taisenkai/b/505672140?t=1h26m6s Suna (Platinum) vs Hellfire (Amane) http://www.twitch.tv/taisenkai/b/505672140?t=1h42m10s Hellfire (Amane) vs Spelt (Jin)
Cynthetik Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Some footage of local casuals with me vs one of the resident Hazama players. I noticed during this set was that I got too comfortable throwing out Gekiren because I was catching him with it at first. I continued to do this even after he adapted and stopped getting caught by it. Any critiquing is always appreciated. The second video suddenly ends because we ran out of memory on the sd card, I apologize for that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7q_7Cl8RsAA&t=20m55s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE9MJgvBEDc SecretHighTier (Hazama) vs Hellfire (Amane)
DerQ Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 I watched these over the span of the whole week, didn't pay /too much/ attention to details so just keep that in mind. In the set against Ryuudo, I noticed a few 5C attempts to catch him jumping/Instant air-dashing. The guess was right, but the spacing was off for it to happen as he still jumped and reached you. There are a few spacing related things that would happen now and then that you could be more mindful about. I noticed some 5B > 2C > 3C whiff happening sometimes. Very minor stuff to notice, yet way too important in all aspects of this character. Saw a lot of 5C > 6C > 6A > j.B > Combo drops because the opponent was too high when 6A connected. If they're higher, either attempt another route or delay 6A really reduce drops when going for it. Delaying 6A can still hit with the opponent behind Amane, it's a side switch, but it ensures to properly followup at the correct height. That or 6C > 214A > j.B > 5B > 5C > 6C > etc works like a charm if they're too high. Last little thing, I don't know if you're aware of it while doing it. When you go for 6C(1) > 236D~D > 5B >236D~A, do you realize you sometimes can do 6C(1) > 236D~D > 2B > 5B > 5C > 6C(1) > 236D~D> 5B(1) >236D~A or do you shorten the combo on purpose for some reason? It's a bit more damage before the reset unless it's to make it harder on the other player to know you're going for the drill reset (less time to react)??
STenSatsu Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Another thing on the 6c2>6a route is you can sj straight up into j.b if they are high up. Though it can be pretty hard to confirm whether you need superjump or normal jump on the fly. Usually normal jump should always be fine if you are doing it after 2 reps of 5c>6c routes.
DerQ Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 We had a tournament this past weekend out of town. My recorded matches are timestamped in the description. I have an idea of some flaws in the Mu-12 match, but I didn't rewatch any of this. I want to rewatch them with what people have to say about it. 2 out of 3 against WakeUpDp's relius 3 out of 5 against Pochp's Mu-12 Winner finals 3 out of 5 against WakeUpDp's Relius loser finals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7XhVkP14fU
Cynthetik Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) As some of you might already be aware of, I was at SCR. I made it all the way to winner's finals only to lose then I lost again in loser's finals. I don't quite understand the Tao match up at all, not sure what that character is doing other than she is always in my face. In loser's finals, I think the fact that I was facing one of my local players had me not thinking clearly/playing poorly and I looked really free. Overall somewhat satisfied with my performance and hope to make it farther at my next major (I was so close to top 16! ). Feel free to check out my matches, any advice is always appreciated! Cynthetik Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Had some of my matches recorded from last weeks casuals. Was mostly working on trying to incorporate 5B > 6D blockstring into my game (learn spacing/when it's a good time to go for it). Feel free to check out my matches and tell me what you think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3afov7UoSY&t=11m40s Hellfire (Amane) vs Spelt (Rachel, Jin, Litchi)
Kirnupiima Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I was amazed by your SCR casual matches. You just steamrolled everybody :p GGs!
Cynthetik Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Just had our monthly tournament this weekend. I was able to make it though the gauntlet from hell and make it to grand finals to take 2nd place! I feel like I played pretty sloppy in loser's semi's and in grand finals, tourney nerves were kicking in and I was dropping a lot of things that I shouldn't have dropped. After seeing Hoshi's performance at FR, I am really trying to level up my movement, I feel like I am still way too stiff especially given the tools that Amane has for movement. So if anyone has any pointers or tips on how to improve my movement, it would be greatly appreciated. -Loser's Semi-Finals- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY7bxNAgbdw&feature=youtu.be&a Hellfire (Amane) vs TC True_Tech (Kokonoe) -Loser's Finals- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs1Mmvuq2C0&feature=youtu.be&a Hellfire (Amane) vs SHGxMiniMatt (Kokonoe) -Grand Finals- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE5ckEwIjhE&feature=youtu.be&a Hellfire (Amane) vs Moblin (Hakumen)
Cynthetik Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Last week my local scene decided to finally stream again, here are my matches that were recorded. Feel free to critique anything. http://www.twitch.tv/milehighburst/b/517497481 1:47:5 - Hellfire (Amane) vs Femoral (Valkenhayn) 2:12:30 - Hellfire (Amane) vs KrsJin (Bang) 2:30:27 - Hellfire (Amane) vs SecretHighTier (Makoto)
Cynthetik Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Haven't posted anything in a long while, but here is a FT5 against my local Hakumen player. This was a really good set and both of us were respecting each other greatly. Would love some feedback on this because even though I felt like I was playing the match up right, there is always room for improvement! http://www.twitch.tv/milehighburst/c/4379745 Moblin (Hakumen) vs Hellfire (Amane)
