Regarding about PSN tourneys

So yeah, for the last 3-4 months I've been hearing about these tournaments on PSN and I wish to participate. I'm not THAT good, but I just wanna get over the jitters you get when playing in a tourney/first-to-5/etc. plus meet more people on the P4A community. BUT, one slight problem: I live in Puerto Rico. I *USUALLY* don't lag unless someone's using my internet, then it becomes the crappiest thing ever hehe. Anyways, I may have 0 bars in a lobby, but that's just because the host may be from the west coast, when technically speaking, I'm on east (not on usa, but close!). Even when I have 0 bars, I don't lag. Anyone can still do their combos/resets/blockstrings on me (unfortunately ). AND I've been informed that people from Canada have played on the tourneys, which I think its equally as far as Puerto Rico, if not even farther away than PR. I just wanna join one of these damn things haha.

TL;DR I wanna join tourneys but not sure if I can cuz of location.

I can vouch for this, I play the guy regularly and there's never an issue with his connection.

Generally, 0 bar will lag, even if you don't feel it yourself it generally just means you're not at a level where you can feel it. That said, you should be okay if you get someone to lag test/approve you.

I hear a lot of the people on the tourneys are on east coast, and usually vs east coast players im 1 or 2 bars. and it may feel like "netplay" but im sure east vs west coast players feel it too. and its barely noticeable and u can still block fast bs like chies AOA. BUT if i gotta test connection with someone, I will. whatever it takes damn it

if you get 1/2 bars with some people you should be okay. I thought you meant you literally just get 0 bar with everyone. Just ask in one of the threads if you can play next time! We won't bite... most of the time

I've played you before, Shady (though I don't remember who you use). I can also vouch that your connection is playable with most players.

I think its generalized to only have players from NA since its the most sensible way to weed out (more likely than not) bad connections from players due to relative distance. But if you have a decent enough connection despite being out of the country and want to play, then I don't see why not. Now if you have a laggy as hell connection though.... RIPRIPRIP

yh we've played Omnix a while ass ago, and yh we were pretty decent. GotSarged tho... im almost sure we played forever ago, and I had like 1 or 2 bars and for some reason we still lagged, psn can be stupid sometimes :/ PR is out of the country but its still pretty close, shit, ppl swim from PR to Florida so it cant be that far lol dats just stupid we dont really do that, but WE COULD IF WE WANTED
