From back when I messed with it I think I didn't hold the rainbow step  and bc'd as soon as I was able.  Then hold the direction again immediately after you release csa.  My friend said I should be able to hold the step direction.  Make sure you hold a direction when doing any movement in general, like how boost hops go further when you hold the direction.

For the sachakyan I realized the other day I've been rainbowstepping into another melee instead of sub. The timing must be st00pid or not possible with pad if the mythical button delay/buffering is actually a thing.
