As high as possible, as delayed as possible, needs running momentum on the close slash & only work on specific people.

Randomly realized that 1/2/3 ball jumps have different trajectories. Can possibly create ambiguous ball oki. Note that the crossup ball (9 jump > 3 ball jump) requires a delay, if done meaty it won't actually crossup.

You are already well on the other side of them by the time the ball hits despite it looking pretty ambiguous.

If you want you get into semantics then sure. You're just hitting them on the opposite side to what they expect. If you want to instead try it then you'll see its (1) meaty (2) on the other side to where the knockdown occurs and (3) can be made not to if spaced correctly.

hmm. Didn't get your point but i'm sure u can not meaty cross up in GG. Just try it with Chipp jH and you'll see. record Chipp doing c.S>6P>c.S>2D knockdown, super jump foward jHS "cross up" on Ky. Then hold 4 with Ky and you'll see u can block it

Try the May setup above with an iad.

then it's probably not meaty. The cross-guard mechanic is confirmed long long time ago by both Japanese and Dustloop member, don't understand why u try to ignore it =.=

Edited: I play with May usually and see that setup pretty often. U can try it on training mode to ensure it's meaty or not.

zz, u don't get it or what? i just want to point out that u can't meaty cross up, and base on the video from Ice Cube above it's clearly true - u can tell that by seeing Millia's life bar. In training mode if you hit meaty, the dummy cannot recover it's life

It's a GG mechanic that let u can guard by 4 or 6 input in situation like that on wake up and can successfully block meaty attack from both side

Yet you came in claiming that my version didn't work because 'you can't cross up' yet the ball hits on the opposite side to where you started. Based on the same concept as Leo corpse hop buttons. I actually used it against various Japanese players this past week.

You just like arguing or what? Take it elsewhere.

hmm. I didn't say it didn't cross up - u can check my comment. I just wanna say that it's not MEATY CROSS UP. And i didn't say that setup didn't work. I get hit by it often, but it's probably not meaty - and that's clearly

what? try recording May 2D knockdown > meaty crossup j2H then block without correcting.

In any case, I realized with the new ball jump buff (reset air momentum) you can do new cool things with the good old midscreen 2D > P ball. Here's a demo https://youtu.be/EC4TXgLr6JI . Try experimenting with different blockstrings and different ball jump directions (1/2/3), it's fairly freestyle.

Do not have console at home, but i can make a quick video on #Reload to prove the existance of cross-guard

But you're completely missing the point of the ball oki. You can be on the other side to where you put out the ball and on wakeup they have to block it the other way.

Oh and cross up protection does nothing but make blocking harder against bedman. Dolphinman can avoid having it happen by doing the specific ball oki with the iad.

You are the only one arguing your point. The rest of us don't care and have ways to circumnavigate it.

Ok then i'm the bad man here right =))), just want to point out that the setup above is cross-up, but it can't be meaty. And if it's visually "meaty cross up", it's in fact can be blocked by holding both 4 and 6. Assume that i was wrong, can you make a video to prove it. I'm uploading my video

No one labeled you as the "Bad Man" here, all that's occurring right now is you ignoring their points and frequently bringing up a fact that is absolutely non-significant, "It can be blocked by holding 4 and 6" then why are you getting hit by the setup in the first place? We understand what your talking about as far as the mechanic, but come on man, chill out.

Exactly this ^.

There are situations where cross up guard also doesn't work. Mostly when the entire character model is completely over your opponent - like meaty j.2h.

Ok, then what about this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LN8lWwlOJ4

I didn't try to say that the setup mentioned above is worthless, all i wanna stress out is that it's not meaty, and even Ice Cube himself said when done meaty, it won't cross up

if done meaty it won't actually crossup.

And "the situation that cross up guard doesn't work" is when it's not meaty, like i said before. All the "meaty cross up" setup is done non-meaty to make it actually work
Maybe i was too dumb to try to say a fact that nobody care about

nice, seems like i have to check it by my self. Maybe the cross guard doesn't affect when both May and the ball in the same side

Sorry for my previous comments, if this came out earlier, there weren't that much worthless talk =)))

Or maybe you have any explanation for this, why i can block the j2H meaty cross-up by holding both 4 or 6, but your vid shows different

I believe it's to do with whether any of your character model is on both sides of the central axis of the waking up opponent. In this case you are completely on the other side, for yours you are overlapping like the vertical line drawn up the centre of the sprite.
