Antihero11 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 It's strange how you practice this by setting Zato-1 to dummy. Since timing the DP is crucial with Sin/other characters. Seems counter-intuitive, but it makes sense. I think that's a good idea. I wonder if knockdown, into medium drill, and stalling until re-summoning would be better. Less damage, but lets you set up mix-ups again. Thanks for the ideas.
huber Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 That ain't practice that's recorded that way just to make the video
Antihero11 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 How do you practice it then? I just meant stalling with safe blockstrings can give you more time for the eddie meter to recover and allow a resummons, as opposed to going straight for a combo.
huber Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 My bad I didn't mean to submit those first posts the forum was being strange. I misread your post initially I get what you mean now. I think I'd still rather do the combo to waste more time and push them to the corner
Antihero11 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 This is probably in the Faust forum, but it's not character specific, so I figured it's worth sharing here.https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kt3d_YoUH5i3g8X5putPdm74bqrTu5e1DKNuOTfG6pc/editNage's thoughts on losing and how to improve. Very helpful for any competitive endeavor. This would include video games, sports, etc. It helps a lot since sometimes competition can feel like an endless grind. Zato is a character you'll lose with a lot at first until you get really competent. So stay strong other shadow users.
frizzical13 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Does anyone have tips for playing Zato on pad? I know it's possible as some players like BeautiulDude have done well with it, but my pad Zato could use a lot of work... I mainly need to improve my skills at negative edge and managing eddie while zato uses normals. I play on the regular PS4 controller with kick on the left shoulder button, slash on the right shoulder button, dust on the circle button, heavy slash on the triangle button, and punch on the square button. Thanks for any help you can give.

Took about 6 months to get used to stick, and I still miss shoryuken motions sometimes. But if possible, I'd find Beautifuldude on his twitter/youtube etc and contact him, as he'd be able to help the best. As long as you have slash and kick mapped to the shoulder buttons, you should be fine, as you'll probably use those most. But Haneru (punch) helps too. Honestly, just like stick, keep practicing. How long have you been using Zato for? It takes at least 2-3 months to get used to negative edging in neutral. Try using break the law and controlling little eddie in neutral if you're having a hard time using both characters at once. Once you get a feel for that, then transition to using things like nobiru, then 2HS, etc.

I've played about 400 matches now. I guess i should just practice to get rid of sloppy Eddie usage and accept some losses online in order to experiment and become comfortable with negative edge. If I can catch Beautifuldude streaming on twitch I'll ask him for some pad advice. I've got a lot of work to do but it's worth it to play such a cool character!
Antihero11 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I'm glad to hear it. We need more passion in these forums. For some reason, the Zato subforums are pretty dead. I think it's because we're all out there experimenting/playtesting instead of theorizing on the forums. Zato would probably be my favorite fighting game character of all time, in both playstyle and background/story. He has a tragic history, and understands what it means to make difficult decisions.
KTX_Sama Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Excuse me, can any tell me how to do a optimized SG Loop.
koufdell Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) peace all , can anybody give me the input for the combo that sako was doing against daigo (sol) midscreen which ends with shadow gallery (starts with mawarou) Edited August 16, 2015 by koufdell

huber Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NX4VHCHWaoat 1:57:05alright this took me awhile to figure out. Good luck! Sako is crazy! The timing on the shadow p after far drill hits is really tricky. Let go of p after you iad. I also found it easier to do with iad j.s instead of j.k. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=71F8HkCzzPo inputs are inthe description

huber Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Yeah after practicing for awhile I can still only get it like once every 5 tries. I mistime the nobiru most of the time. Gotta work on that.
huber Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Huber train me! <3haha man I'm not any good I just spend a lot of time in training modethx bro , much appreciated ... it took me some times too but i still have problems with shadow gallery not hitting them try this version. I saw it in an old Reload combo video and turns out that added j.HS gives you more time for the shadow P to end and to move eddie forward. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaXg0SqVNho
JG Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 I think this route, for the double UB, work well against most of the cast, i hope that you like it = )https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQgEqCiZV1g
smellthejava Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Yo guys, there's no Zato skype group? I'd love to join if there's one.
Antihero11 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 We're all too anti-social and angsty to Skype. Comes in the job description when you select this character as your main.
KurlyBandit Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 What are some good/common ways to protect Eddie? I feel like he gets killed way too easily when I play. Also what are some good uses for break the law? I can't figure it out other than maybe a gimmick to get out of the corner with yrc to make it safe.
