I have recently just got EXVSFB, having a lot of fun and still trying to learn about the basic mechanics and such. I thought I'd try my luck at online but to my demise, I seem to get kicked from lobbies? I'm not sure if its me not readying up (does the yellow border around your name mean you're not ready?) Because of this, I am unable to acquire much needed experience against players! Anyone else get this problem?

From the UK

JP PSN = OronyxJP

PSN = Oronyx

Thanks in advanced

It can be a few factors, ping, lag or if you're missing absolute fundamentals that you should know before you play online, people will kick you. I don't know if you're being kicked before you get into matches or after so I can't say but those are the three biggest reasons.

While unfortunate, some people also don't like it when new players join their lobby so they specifically check your experience to see if you have a good enough match history to see if you know your stuff.

@Oronyx: I'm not actually sure which yellow border you're talking about. Are you attempting to play Ranked? Or Player matches? If its player matches and you're not getting in the game, you need to queue up as well (circle). If its ranked, people are cancelling, most likely because on ranked you will mostly find JP players who will have a bad connection to you.

If you can clarify which kind of matchmaking you're doing, it might be easier to help. Since you're from the UK, its helpful to try and understand the delay icons to know who you have a good connection with or not.

It's player match and most groups I join have 3-4 bars (never max, which I think is blue) The yellow border surrounds the player's name and gundam, I couldn't figure out what that meant and why my name never went yellow

That means they're currently in a match. Your name never went yellow because you never confirmed your selection and entered the match. To do so press circle once you've selected your suit. If you are unable to do that, the room has some sort of restriction you do not meet. Find a new room and try again once you've done that.

I've had troubles getting into rooms, even rooms with no restrictions that my friends actually invited me to. Even though I'm not aware of any changes to Player Matches from the last patch, since 1.05 I have literally not been able to connect to any rooms at all.

Port forwarding or placing your PS3 in DMZ might help connect to some rooms.

For port forwarding, make sure you assign a static IP address to your PS3.

Also, try to use a wired connection whenever possible because the PS3 wifi chip isn't very good.
