  1. I've had troubles getting into rooms, even rooms with no restrictions that my friends actually invited me to. Even though I'm not aware of any changes to Player Matches from the last patch, since 1.05 I have literally not been able to connect to any rooms at all.
  2. I can play, though usually not until about 9 pm EST. If that works for you, add me: gmxsephiroth
  3. I figured I would put this here since alot of folks have asked me about it: To raise service stars with suits, you have to play as that suit a certain number of times. Please keep in mind that service stars only count towards ONLINE games. These can be deployments in Arcade Mode, Mission Mode, or Ranked/Player matches, but it MUST BE online (also, in the case of Arcade/Mission mode, each individual round as counted as a deployment, for example, in a standard 8 round Arcade run, it'll count as 8 deployments, or 9 if a bonus round is played). Wins and losses are irrelevant. The requirements for each service star are as follows: 1 star: 1 deployment 2 star: 100 deployments 3 star: 300 deployments 4 star: 500 deployments 5 star: 1000 deployments For those who want the source, its on the Japanese wiki here: http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/122.html
  4. I think having multiple hosts set up to speed the process along would definitely help. It already takes alot of time setting up invites and making sure everyone gets in, so doing one whole round at a time with several hosts will definitely make everything go faster and you'll have alot less people getting bored or frustrated or impatient. If we have to have the players all in the chatroom anyway, doing this shouldn't be logistically difficult. From the time we started actually playing til I played my 3rd match it took 2 hours (and the matches themselves were usually no more than 2 minutes long). 2 hours out of my day, for no more than 10 minutes of actual playtime is kinda ridiculous. Mind, there were alot of connection and invite hiccups that contributed to that, but having multiple rooms should help regardless, since it'll be getting other matches out of the way while the remaining team figures it out. Connection problems seem to be the rule rather than the exception with this game, so having those kinds of contingencies in place should help, as well as clearly defined rules for particular scenarios (like in Shuffle, if only one player cannot play, how to proceed since there are 3 players left and only 2 can advance, for example). On a personal note, I also disagree with Stage Random. Alot of stages are disadvantageous to alot of different units (depending on the stage). For a completely casual tournament I guess this point can be debated, but I don't feel its fair even in a casual tournament if its not a fair playing field all round, but again, this point is just my personal preference, so take that with a grain of salt.
  5. Alright, here's his info then: Location is same as mine. PSNID: eraudissidia Unit: GunEZ
  6. @Setsuna Yuki Its not so much that he can't, its that he really doesn't want to (and since I usually tell him about any events being organized, he finds it unnecessary).
  7. PSN: gmxsephiroth Unit: Reborns Location: Daytona Beach, FL My roommate is also interested in signing up, though he is not a Dustloop member. If thats OK let me know and I'll post his info as well.
  8. Lol duly noted. I always forget to laugh when I use the Gagas
  9. I'm right there with ya. I did exceptionally well in the Beginner room, but I get those kinds of numbers in losses when I play in regular rooms. It is a bit of conundrum for me.
  10. I've been having alot of trouble against melee-oriented suits with Reborns (in particular God Gundam and Banshee). The conventional wisdom seems to be to simply not let them get in too close, but what are my best options in the event that it does happen? For stopping a melee approach the more obvious option is 5AC in G mode and 5B in C mode (or so it seems to me). AB in G mode seems to work as well (so long as the shot doesn't go out of angle), and I suppose 2B would be your only other viable option in C mode since A always seems to miss up close and AC comes out too slow. The other dilemma is that a lot of the better melee oriented suits (like Banshee, The O, God, etc) seem to have decent to good mid range options that, coupled with their speed, make it more difficult to lock them in the mid-range as would be the more common anti-melee approach against weaker melee suits. Maybe I'm just approaching it all wrong, or just need more work and practice on fundamentals or execution, but some insight on the matter would be appreciated.
  11. I believe it's mapped to L1 by default.
  12. I use the Hori Fighting Edge.
  13. I personally play with an Arcade Stick. My roommate plays with a regular controller.
  14. Well, arcade mode doesn't have rooms, just two players per session like in Ranked Team Hold. And Arcade doesn't have replay functionality either. It also moves at a pace where it is difficult to do chat unless it's a Skype live call or something.
  15. You're right, I hadn't thought of chaining A>AB on stagger. Seems like a decent use for it. Makes sense since he can can cancel MG into anything. I don't remember having any problems hitting BC>A, but I didn't really pay that much attention to it since I mostly used it as a punish against my partner getting melee'd. I'll have to test it in depth in Free Battle to say for sure.
  16. Grenades don't seem to have much utility, IMO. After using him for a while they only seemed to be good for anti melee about half the time (if they get too close, then the explosion stuns you as well). Startup is too slow and explosions too small to be of any particular use outside of specific scenarios (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I'm just not working them right). I'll have to check some replays to see if I'm missing anything. Something important to note about the command dash, when in green lock range, it will move in the direction that Ridden is facing regardless of player input. While in redlock it will home on opponents (either directly with 8/5/2BC, or of swerving around the left/right with 4/6BC), so it should be used with caution for players who are skirting the boundary between red and green lock.
  17. Well, I dunno how much shipping costs to get to your country, so I can't really comment there. The game itself is $77 USD atm. If you're not concerned about delivery speed I guess you can check out other sites like AmiAmi.
  18. I think PlayAsia would still be your best bet. In my experience so far they're the easiest to work with.
  19. I've also heard that Heliopolis is also allowed in tourney settings. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  20. I had one shipped from PlayAsia that arrived this morning. I also have another one shipped from AmiAmi, but I don't know how far out that one is.

  22. The game has local multiplayer for 2 players. Unfortunately you can't take two players online on one console, so if you and a friend want to play online against other players, you will need two copies of the game.
  23. I think that the negativity will exist in every community, especially as it grows larger and gets more exposure. It's the unfortunate truth of human communication. Different views inevitably lead to friction, usually of the negative kind. But it's a hurdle we have to overcome as a community. Getting back on topic, this game is definitely worth a shot. I've already converted several folks who don't know jack about Gundam into fans of the games. I'd love to see some kind of localization effort, but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon, if at all. Time will tell.
