Hey guys. I got the first DBFC last Christmas but am only starting to get into it now. What resources should I be looking at? I couldn't find a thread for the old game.

I already know about the wiki but I was hoping to read some more in-depth discussion. I want to play Tomoka and I already have some basic combos down but I was wondering if there are some common setups I should be learning. Thanks.

That's great news! I was already wondering if the arcade was getting updated.

Does anyone know if the cabinet allows for anything other than the default mapping? I already got used to playing like so...

You should check out this newbie primer that Tsuntenshi made a while back

For more Tomoka specific stuff like setups, it might be best to just check out footage of her on climax-art.com and take note of things you see. Here's a link to listings of Tomoka footage.

I remember in the beginning I figured I would play Kirino because top tier but I could never link her j.A after qcfA, C. The rest of the characters seem relatively simpler. Maybe go with Tomoka and Mikoto.

I totally missed this, but the Producer Terada tweeted on Sunday that we're getting very close to the revelation of the next DLC character (Although we already know that the character will be Ako from NetogeYome...).
I wonder if they reveal the character early next week and then she'd be playable at the Dengeki Festival of Spring which is held on March 13th...

Everything went as I expected... Ako and Rusian have officially been revealed as paid DLC. They are playable at Dengeki Festival this Sunday, so I hope we get some footage.

You can read up @Kurushii's "Importing 101" thread if you need help for getting prepaid cards or if you still have to make a Japanese SEN account. Play-Asia is recommended for the cards since they e-mail you the code directly after the purchase within minutes, but there are many other retailers which provide a similar, albeit slower, service.

Is it okay to ask here, I was wondering what the version update information was about in the recent update about a month ago.

Here's the text from the updates:

・クライマックスアーツを切り札以外で強化した場合のパワーアップ効果は、クライマックスアーツ終了時に消去されるように変更しました。

My only question is will she be more fun than Basketball-chan? She's pretty much my standard for fun in this game so far. My god her moveset is mixup fun. When you got someone new coming into this game who doesn't know how to block her its one helluva time showing off all her left right and overhead setups.



Real talk though, I'm hype for Ako. Never heard of her (like most of the cast in these games) but her moveset looks really fun.

Ako and Rusian are available for download, but we still have to wait for the update.

Ako is pretty fun. Not quite sure what to do other than mess with her assists to get more damage out of her. Maybe she'll be heavily dependent on Power Burst.

*EDIT* Aaand someone already found a kill combo. Nice.

If you crouch and hold it and don't press any normals, Ako will gain like 5% meter every second, or something like that. Pretty neat.

Yeah. Ako is a pretty fun character. I really like her specials. Great addition to the game. I'm probably going to try and work her into my rotation of characters I play when I don't play Taiga.

So, going back to the Ako crouch and get free meter thing, it takes 50 pips to get 1 bar. I was originally thinking that getting an SSS in her Ranbu would do something, so I got one then checked to see if that affected the rate or amount on her crouching meter gain, and nothing, so I still don't know the point in it. :/

Dudes, still playing this game? Been more than 1 month since I played. I want to improve my Miyuki (still can't find a good assist and burst for her, though :/ )

Balance patch 1.04 came out today which is the same as the arcade's 2.30 version.

CHANGELIST:
* Changed Ako's EX Rolling Star damage scaling.
* Changed Ako's "I Love You, Rusian" and "Perfect Blizzard" damage scaling after the first hit.
* Changed Iriya Kana's "SP ATTACK-SUPPORT" (5S) so that she always appears on the ground.
* Improved operation stability.
