This is Ares from Mugen Guild - I helped out SirRouzel ripping the sprites (Hey! No kudos to your buddy that figured it out for you to help you rip the sprites? That's cold!). I just want to let everyone know that I'm trying to decode the .hip files from the sprites. I'm also working on getting the voices from all the past BB games as well (found here). It'll just be a matter of time til I get the .hip file working.

Those who are wondering why the character sprites haven't been ripped yet:

 

Using Bullet's first sprite (00.hip) -

 

Rippable sprite from character select on the left - sprite from the character .pac on the right:
 

 

Notice that they are the same in the very first lines - then becomes different later on. The .hip file is a different .hip format or the .hip file is compressed differently. Either way ArcSys got smart(er) by making the character .pacs different from the rest of the rippable stuff.

Out of curiosity, were you ever able to find the story mode dialogue boxes? The arcade winquote one is fine, and can serve whatever evil purposes I have just as well, but I'm still curious.

Nope... It Was Not There.

 

Probably It's A "DDS/GTF" File.... The Other Ones I Call "Texture" Are Just A ".HIP" File Than A Real Texture "DDS/GTF.

Sure, take all the time you need. It's not even that important really cause, like I said, I can use the Arcade dialogue boxes just fine for the silly shit I do. Interesting that they'd bury it in one of those files instead of being a regular image file like the other dialogue boxes, though.
