I probably missed that because of the guild chat being flooded by megaphone things.  Is there a way to filter those out?

There's that, but I play the game on windowed mode, so the megaphones are separate from everything.

There should be two chat windows on the side on top of each other. One for megaphones, one for everything else. There's a + sign on the tab on the bottom one. Clicky.

Tried that.  My guild page has only guild stuff and whisper selected, but I still get flooded with the megaphone announcements.

Edit: I play full screen mode.  Don't know if that affects.

Yeah then I don't know. I tried fiddling around with it and it's there no matter what.

It does, just as Holly and I said. Give it a shot.

Figured it out, but now I miss having the widescreen ^^;  Man.  Can't win with that game.

I dunno about the carrying part. lol You were having a bit of trouble with your Testament Ada  Nicholas.

Nicholas becomes pretty irrelevant past 35. Vallecre is all I really need. Command Grab > Dark Orb > Cursed Spikes > etc

Posted

I don't see him that way. He's not really strong, that much is true. But his utility is very good. I don't mind spamming a lvl 1 Black Web, it still slows down enemies. Whether I max Black Wave or not don't change the fact that it keeps enemies in place, and so do the zombies.

I spam the shit out Vallacre myself, and I still have room to destroy enemies little by little in conjunction with Nicholas. Z attack > Soul Lure > Dark Nail > Dead Man's Grudge > slashing. Maybe grab an enemy I don't like along the way.

Or how about:

Nicholas: Hear ya go, boss. (Black Wave)'

Me: Thank you Nicholas.

Nicholas: It's what I do.

Followed by Soul Lure > Dead Man's Obsession > Dark Nail > Dead Man's Grudge (anywhere in that order, really) > DARKNESS FINGER! (Vallacre's Grasp) > Z attack just in case. And that's for the heavier enemies, especially Hell Monsters. I'm essentially a tick damage dealing destroyer. Costs a bit of MP, mind you, but it works. I guess part of that has to do with the accessory I had that debuffs shadow resistance to my enemies. In any case, sure Cursed Spear and Dark Orb could carry you up to a point, but I find no practical use for them since I'm an offensive Necromancer.

Cursed Spear after Dark Wave will pop up the enemy further for more damage rather than instantly dropping them.

Also I goofed. I mixed up Dead Man's Grudge with Obsession.

Does anyone know if there will be EU-Servers after "global release" in April?

So i would have to start again to play in my region afterwards?

Tried f.gunner and thief this weekend on Cain.

Seems like potentially lots of fun if i can get anyone else round here to try it ^^

Edit:
Also if anyone has any brief hints for how to use skill-shortcuts.. you said some things like using quarter-circles instead of the skill-bar or something?

I'm playing with keyboard at the moment and trying to navigate and remember where to press for 10 skills on the left of my keyboard is totally strange when beeing used to playing on pad/stick/wasd-layout...

If it would be possible to use a pad/stick in an efficient manner (qcf-commands for skills or something, so you don't need like 10+ buttons + item-bar), that would be great.

There's no QCF commands, it's just down then forward. It makes it very managable on a keyboard.

There are no diagonal inputs, but you can change the inputs for individual moves. Moves that are down forward are, in spirit QCF inputs. If you want, you can use a pad. Just run Xpadder and plug in your controller if its a XBOX 360 controller or install Motioninjoy PS3 drivers and set it to Xinput then use Xpadder. If you use an ability's command instead of hotkey, it doesn't have to be on your hotkey bar. If you go to your skills, you can change their input to whatever you feel comfortable with.

Also join guild if you're looking for people to play.

Now that I think about it, that's kinda fucked up when Strikers have little to no AoE, making THEM the ones being carried. Myself included.

We have AoE. That's not a problem. Problem is that the ranged, safe characters are dying before me :psyduck:

Speaking of shortcuts, don't forget that you jump by pressing a separate button, which means that you can use such inputs as 896 for your moves. Moreover, you can go both directions with conventional inputs, such as 632 rather than 236. And then there is the simple stuff, such as tapping a single direction twice or pressing opposite directions. Those inputs alone give you 18 different combinations, and there aren't that many characters who need more.

Thanks for the info!

I still have some problems, though, after trying for a while already...

I first tried JoytoKey, then MotionJoy + Xpadder (with PS3-pad). One problem is, that it doesn't recognize the keyboard-letters when mapping them to the gamepad (i can "write" stuff in Word with the pad fine). And when i map the gamepad-button to X i can attack in dungeons, but i can't talk to people in town anymore, except using the mouse.

Ok, so i settled with using the mouse but the second problem is, after playing for 5 minues or something i always get a security alert for using hacking software, with both setups (joytokey/xpadder).

I'm on windows8. Did you have the same problems or know what i'm doing wrong? :/

Guild sounds like fun if i get it to work :)
