*sigh*

Dear DFO Players,
This is In Lee, CEO of Neople.

I have a difficult news to share, and I feel apologetic about this.
This might be an embarrassing news for us as a developer.

When we first started to bring back the game, one of our concerns was about whether the players would like the game or not, and another was about the bots and hackers as they were a lot of them when the game was previously serviced.

So I asked the players not to use bots and our expectation was that the bots would disappear if there were no demands.
However, recent developments within the game have started to shift the game towards the wrong direction. The number of bots or web pages selling gold are continuously growing. And they are trading gold using the Auction Hall.

Every day 10,000 ~ 15,000 new accounts are created and 95% of them end up being bots. This has negative impact on the in-game economy, and it sends the wrong message to the players. Many bots appear with inappropriate behaviors and they are luring the players. Almost all of these bots are frauds and they are there to take your money away from you.

We have been constantly monitoring the game, coming up with various ways of stopping these bots, and blocking them systematically every day but all of our efforts are not enough. We are very sorry. On behalf of the entire staff, as the CEO of DFO’s developer, I would like to personally apologize for this.

After careful and painful consideration, we have decided, as a primary measure, to introduce a policy that might be an inconvenience for many of the players. I understand there will be a lot of complaints, but I would like to earnestly request all the players to work together and keep the game clean. The policy we will introduce, (hopefully) with your understanding, is the following:

=====================

<Policy>
- Starting date: May 7, 2015 after maintenance
- Characters below Lv.50 (Lv.1~Lv.49) will not be able to sell/buy items from Auction Hall
- All equipment below Lv.50 (Lv.1~Lv.49) cannot be registered to be sold at the Auction Hall
- All “ingredient” items cannot be registered to be sold at the Auction Hall
(I’d like to ask that the players should get these items through playing the game. We will be monitoring the game and have necessary measures implemented if this seems to be too much of an inconvenience).

<Opening Hours of Auction Hall>
- Auction Hall will open for 48 hours every weekend (Saturday 00:00 ~ Sunday 24:00, UTC)
- Auction Hall will be disabled during the May 7th maintenance, and will open at 00:00 on May 9th, UTC).

======================

It would have been better if we could block these bots within the game system but Neople lacks the capability, and I sincerely apologize for this.
I know this will not be easy, but please show your support by cooperating with us. We hope to try different policies such as this one and try to keep the game clean.

I hope all those players who love DFO will give us a helping hand. While the Auction Hall is down, we will track the bot accounts and block them.
I really hope you all understand, and please don’t purchase gold from web pages outside of the game.

Despite the above, if there is no improvement within the game we are also considering the complete closure of the Auction Hall.

Once again I sincerely hope for your kind understanding, and apologize, as the developer, for not being able to place a concrete countermeasure to fight the bots technically.

Neople will continue to strive to achieve our best. Please continue to trust us and stay with us.

You, the players, are the source of our power.
Thank you.

Omg, i also thought they would be closing the game down again.

Poor guys, nice that they take it so personally (dat picture) and try to do their best for the game..

I just dumped 20 million worth of shit I farmed onto the market. From a publishing aspect, the game's been kind of a hot mess. They should have pre-planned a lot of the security issues beforehand. No OTP against the hackers? No AH lock such as level or a premium account purchase to prevent gold-buying? C'mon now. C'mon.

If only they had saw this coming though. The same bots that near destroyed the last DFO is just gonna come back here regardless of fatigue system. For all I know, they just need an increase in employment. A huge one, at that.

Really? How could you NOT?

EDIT: "For the security measures, Goblin Pad and security card system are being developed." CALLED IT

So what's this extra gauge I got for this "growth capsule?"

Expires in a period of 3 days when you fill the gauge and click the button. It turns into a pill you can give to any of your 50-69 characters for an injection of 1mil exp. RIP Urgent Quests.

Well, nice to know I level capped just in time for the Time Gate, and F. Ranger certainly got an epic buff to her 2nd awakening. Making a shit ton of DPS just from Topspin and Sobat alone. Screw the bleed damage, the extra slashes make up for everything. Hell, it almost makes Twin Gun Blade negligible since I can spam cube skills without worry since my kicks now do go damage. Which is ironic since it's because of TGB that I was barely competent up until Awakening...that's a pretty horrible skill tree.

So I played a bit of this about a month ago, coming back to it for the first time since well before it got shut down. I went with a Priest and got to Exorcist and am going with physical skills. Is it just me or is game a HELL of a lot easier now? Even when cranking up the difficulty on stages, I just blow through everything like butter. I barely even have to use potions. I feel like it was harder before. Granted I put at least a little effort into not getting hit all the time so maybe its just me not sucking.

Still a fun game though. I might try out a couple other classes. I'd run a Grappler but I remember them being kinda disappointing against bosses that they can't pick up. On the flip side, I played a Summoner a bit back in the day and found their damage output HILARIOUSLY high. I never killed bosses faster than when I sicked an army of summons on them while they were multiple debuffed by the marker skill.

Summoner is pretty easy mode but you'll get bored of it (I don't recommend making it your main but that's your choice). Game gets harder once you hit Ghent.

So I'm hearing that Confidential Area and the dungeon after that are the best places to exp grind until lvl78. Good for those guys, plowing through all the epic quests from 70-74 in one swell swoop and maybe the dailies help, but when all that's done, it doesn't sound like a very efficient grind spot to me. I'm at lvl74 and Express still gets me around 440k EXP in 2:30 minutes. Meanwhile Confidential Area at Hard mode nabs me 340k EXP in about 3:45 if I bring a puppet like Faris with me. Ya'll have been at lvl80 now. What do you think?

Also, curious question. Can growth potions stack on top of one another?

Edit: Anyone got 2million gold to spare? I need to get this lvl70 Knuckle that increases most of my M Nen's skils by 12% and it sells at an average of 3mil from what I saw yesterday.

Don't bother, just go to the lvl 80 gear. Run dailies, easy peasy.

Time Gate dailies are THAT good, huh?

350-400k xp each. Tower of the Dead x3 = 10% of your bar (it scales with level, so it'll always give you 10%). If you're 78, pop an exp potion and do the special dungeon run in a quick party on Time Gate A. That's how I burned through my fatigue during my lunch breaks. Hit 80 a couple days ago.

Testing the waters with a new F. Brawler (farewell, my dear Striker). How is her gimmick applied? She's supposed to have a special use to throwing items right? How do you use them use them up? Just have a ton of throw items in your item hotkeys?

-Turn on buff

-Buff affects abilities that use items. That is all that matters.

I wish female Brawlers weren't all PURPLE POISON at high levels, since I like their gameplay more than M.Brawlers. Sucks that I have to choose between gameplay and aesthetics.
