I'm pretty sure that Hilda was abusing 623b only because of how much these guys were respecting her. Thinking about it, it's not even a good thing because of how much grid the opponents can get from simply choosing to block mids.

I guess that sort of thing is good against the right people.

Note that while he usually gave up the first Vorpal, he did make up for it later on (and makes good use of charging GRD, and setting up opportunities to do so).

Any match ups people are having trouble with? This week i'm gonna try to find answers to them and gaps in people's offenses starting with linne who seems to be like +50billion when she gets in and seems to have no problem doing so either.

So far lynn is only unsafe after a few moves moves and you need to extremely wary of them are (git gud @ blocking)

The unsafe moves are

150px-Linne-s-hien.png (a version can be cancelled but is not overhead and unsafe) B overhead is safe but can be poked out of 150px-Linne-s-getsurin.png (a version can be cancelled) We should all know by now dps aren't safe

150px-Linne-s-kuuga.png (b version) Is not safe if they dash forward because fireball has longer startup, if they use the slower one they're safer

If she has meter i tend to notice she goes in for the yolo overhead super so best thing to do is to wait for it, if she does her ex. fireball she's +50billion don't even try to have an answer for it

Most important thing in this mu is don't punish with 2a, punish with 5a. 5a has a higher success rate of also trading with flying shallow(the jumping overhead slash)

played toan earlier and the mirror match is soooo silly lol.

also fought a really scrubby waldstein who just assault jc and grabbed all day. that character is stupid, just like all grapplers. and it didn't even feel unbeatable, obviously I dont know the game fully yet but having a new game with yet another new grappler to get used to ought to be a salty experience for anyone. salt aside, I did take some learnings away from the matches. 5c is very good so far because it is basically a wall that waldstein cant go through. he has a pretty bad projectile that skewer should have no problems beating on reacton. it even seems like the projectile only hits fullscreen standing.

he was churning that butter through my blockstrings too, no jump canceling plus his grab range makes this very effective. I noticed condense gloom puts her in the air rather quckly, completely avoiding the throw super should the waldstein use it. It should guarentee a setup at least.

day 1 fighting, so take this with a grain of salt.

I played Shine a couple of games. It's scary, but it's very doable (maybe even Hilda's favor). Teleport was useful for me too in that matchup. Condensed gloom to go in the air is interesting, but there's scary things about Waldstein that don't involve 360 too (unless he has chain shift).

I wouldn't think of blocking stringing him up close unless I NEED to hit him NOW.

@TD I'll write how to deal with waldstien next, i literally have 5 in my scene and i'm gonna learn that mu pretty well  :vbang:

Looking forward ot it.

Any good reversal options for Hilda? My main issue is people getting in and being forced to block and wait for them to get far enough away on their own.

Would her B+C be considered a good reversal option?

Hey I wanted to know how hard is she to play cause I pplan on subbing her with my main being seth

None. Got to use the system and space yourself.

Execution isn't too bad. You will be challenged in your defense and zoning.

Oh okay so since watching vids her best bet is to either cs or veil off when shes in pressure I assume

once again, hilda does not have any good reversal options. she only has the system mechanics to escape with. shield, vorpal, chain shift, veil off, guard thrust.. the same options everyone else is given. these options, minus shield require resources, so outside of this, you have mash, jump, and block. in this game, the first two will more likely that not get that pretty little neck twisted. the option safest and that grants resources for more defensive options is to block.

BLOCK. it is a must for hilda to get out. ironic? yes. but the name of the game is respect.

bc is a very slow invul-less move that is unsafe on whiff or block. it would be more akin to an anti air lacking invul. some anti airs like this can be good or bad depending on how many other good qualities that will get you hit the least. this one is on the lower end of that list.

Hey I wanted to know how hard is she to play cause I pplan on subbing her with my main being seth

she is very zonng oriented. you not only have to fight the foe for space, you have to fight the GRD guage as well. as a zoner, you need to create space, and most ways to do this negatively impact the GRD guage. this guage is the key to eeping you safer and with the advantage. it wil also help get you out of pressure or a tight situation with chain shift. this guage is invaluabe to hilda, so you need to play while counterbalanncing any space you create. you can concentrate, or you can play footsies with your zoning, aiming for sweet spots and fishing for hits/ch.

she is slow, much unlike seth, and will require a different game entirely.

I see thank you for the break down im going to try her out when I get off work definitely looks like I picked two decent characters lol

What is an "oki" that some of you are referring to?

oki or Okizemi refers to attacking a rising opponent forcing a mix-up

example after lyncpin ender assault>Charge j.C or Empty Assault>2A/Throw

Posted

I mean it can cover some decent space, but Hilda reaches those areas already. It wall bounces so you can use it for fancy combos I suppose.

It also costs GRD to use. ewww.

A couple of those are subbed. I'll post the Hilda one if it gets subbed at least.

Listing my midscreen bnb I checked videos and experimented for reference purposes.

(5B, 2B optional starters), 2CC, 623A, 66/6AB, 3B, j.©, 3CC, 22A/B (hold B regardless), 3CC, ]B[. Does about 2.6-3.1 depending on state and starters.

In/near the corner, it's most the same, but you don't need to dash before 3B. You may need to jump straight up or backwards while charging j.C.

Pretty sure universal, but not 100% sure as of now.

do people even use her b+c? Like i never see it

I've used B+C once or twice, just to close out the round.

On a side note, what are some decent block-string options? I know that if I have the space, I'll try a 623B after a few 623As; just to catch my opponent touching buttons. Or even delayed 22A.

It's sad that a final boss has heavy issues on her defense, she really reminds me Seth from SFIV.

(As much i don't want to) I don't see almost any Hilda on ranked.

Isn't there any efficient way to use her teleporters? Is it that bad?

GAWD yesterday I played with some friends online. For some reason Byakuya is giving me a lot of headaches.

Also, yeah, her defense is horrible at worst :v Only thing I have is... 214D and sometimes 3B but it doesn't always work the way I'd want :vbang:

Any tips, dudes?

For block strings, don't forget your reverse gatlings (like 2c, whiff 2a). Note that after 2CC and 5CC you can't chain anything else (but can still special cancel). As well as charging for your lynchpins as well.

Teleport is for mobility and positioning. You can do the same with divekicking.

Defense tips...block, tech, and shield better. Get GRD. Or don't get yourself in those positions.

lmao guess I'll have to get better defense with more matches :vbang:

and yeah, I noticed the CC things can't be followed up by anything. I usually just send some 236A shit to finish.

Standard bnb is a block string which works quite well because it pushes then mid-screen

After a 623A you can use 66C and skewer(safe block string) for another block string or go for a lynchpin/reverence pillar mixup

Her teleports are just answers for people teleporting in at her or projectile spam

If you see chaos at the end of the screen and the lizard walking toward you or vatisita thinking she's cute spamming projectiles full screen it works, use her c. teleport also it is unblockable in the air

I also use it when i see a yuku getting ready to teleport at me and then i'm a full screen away , this also works wonders in this hilda mirror match since skewer all day can get ugly
