Spring_Raid Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 translated the doc http://pastebin.com/bAMXKqdN keep in mind that this is just his personal memo, not meant to be a complete breakdown of the character there are things missing, but there's also a LOT of good stuff there I especially liked the notes regarding blockstrings and combos since some of those can be implemented now. I wonder what the start up difference is between SB Run Amok vs B, since SB is faster? Also, with decreased start up/recovery on 236C/D, I wonder if SB version has been affected as well? Right now, you can combo midscreen CH 5C > 236CD > sweep > 236B > jB >j2B > jC(w) > ender but would be nice to combo into 236CD without CH state if we land 5C or maybe even 5B.
Buttface Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 SB run amok is fast enough that you can combo into it from 5AA>2AB
TD Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 ... so apparently marie is listed bottom in the new game, what happened? did she get smacked with the nerf bat?
Buttface Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 It's been two weeks and no one in Japan plays her. Tier lists are based on the current state of the character, so she may very well be bottom tier at her current state of development in Japan. If you look at the list of Marie players, you can see that not many people are playing her at high level or even at all http://sp.p4u2.tv/ranking_view.php?mode=exe&type=psr_rank&character=mr&pref=0 From what I've seen, almost none of the people that DO play her do optimal combos or present oki, either.
Buttface Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 5AA is gapless even on IB in 2.0 Also, I joined the Japanese Marie LINE group, so I might be able to ask them some questions for you guys.
Spring_Raid Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Thanks Buttface and I've got a few please - Can you combo 5B/5C into 236CD > sweep > 236B > etc without counter hit? - Does the D version on 236D still launch the opponent vertical in the air? I saw notes stating it now has similar performance but not sure what that means. - What's the start up difference for Shell of Denial between 1.1 vs 2.0? Also, where is this said line you speak of?
Buttface Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I asked Monyakki about 236CD, he said it seems to be the same as 1.1 236D is exactly the same as 236C now but at a farther range we were actually just talking about shell startup, nobody knows Mayuge-san has been posting on twitter about starting a Marie player LINE group for the past few days, so I jumped at the opportunity to interact directly with JP Marie players. also, apparently sweep>236A>SB Bright arrow>5BB midscreen is possible
Spring_Raid Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Thanks dude and sweep>236A>SB Bright arrow>5BB midscreen being possible sounds interesting.
Buttface Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 it won't make up for the loss of persona invuln, but it'll definitely be nice to set stuff up midscreen
Buttface Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXTmm4SbQ9w&feature=youtu.be safejump off 2C air hit knockdown
Buttface Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 C and D stigma are now 14f startup A shell is 4+3
Buttface Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 2.0 meterless present pull speed looks the same as meterless boss mode speed 2.0 SB present and SB pull are probably the same as their counterparts in boss mode I thought meterless presents looked different but after reexamining they look the same like I originally thought
Spring_Raid Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 C and D stigma are now 14f startup A shell is 4+3 Hopefully the 2f faster start up on 236C&D helps open up new combo routes. I've also started using 2C safe jumps more often since watching your vid and seeing another Marie player apply it a lot this weekend. Wish I could remember his/her name.
Buttface Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'm gonna take a guess and say Rosella-chan
Hiari Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Idk but if this has been mentioned but I found a cool fuzzy guard mix-up. Works on Yu, Mitsuru, Aigis, Junpei.. gonna test on other characters once I finished this session.
TheOneTrueScrub Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Idk but if this has been mentioned but I found a cool fuzzy guard mix-up. Works on Yu, Mitsuru, Aigis, Junpei.. gonna test on other characters once I finished this session. How do you set it up?
Hiari Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 You set it up from safe-jumps. Needs 50 meter to confirm into a full combo, but definitely seems viable to steal that remaining HP if the situation ever shows itself. jb. -> j.cancel j.2b OMC j2.b -> j.b. Sure you could set it up in a basic pressure string with a 2b jump cancel and try to reset pressure with the j.b and go for fuzzy guard. It's just not as safe, and you're free to fuzzy jump OS or 2b. I tend to experiment alot when I like a character, when I find new techs I'll upload a ytube link on my twitter. Follow if you're interested!
Hiari Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Oke I'm back with links. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGR2NqexbPo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky6HbspGI9Y been posted on my twitt feed as well. Additonal info: It works on everyone except Shos, Teddie, Lab/Shabrys and Rise. I don't have Adachi DLC so I can't say for that one, very sorry. Nonetheless I hope this is useful for you all ~
Buttface Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Yukari's new waveform on feather arrow means we can't just stop it with eyes, it will go above and below it
Buttface Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 possibly the Yume the old Aigis god that won EVO 2013 However, all I have to go on are two tweets from Mayuge saying he saw "Yume's Marie" and that it "motivated him"
TheOneTrueScrub Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Oh him. Odd transition. Did Aigis get the almighty Nerf hammer?
Buttface Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 no she's still strong also Yume works for ArcSys or something so it's all mysteries I won't know for sure until Mayuge answers my question, but I do know there's suddenly a mysterious noname player with 802 PSR
Buttface Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 also, one of those Nise Pachi matches confirms my hunch that the present change that makes them pass through opponents, though largely a nerf, means that they pass through personas and other such things as well that means koromaru, other presents, Liz 5C, Yukiko 5D, etc can no longer push presents away
