Okay, so here our topic is to outline how to format the wiki pages. If you want a live demo check the Hyde page, as it is the most complete page and what we're basing this off of. Keep in mind that this is written to follow a logical order for new players.

Please post up if you are starting to edit a wiki page, so we can see what's going on. You will need to email the admin (bellreisa at gmail dot com) to activate an account thanks to spam bots and Captain Tsubasa or some shit.

Let's start with the order of sections. Note how there are some sections that are universally filled out already (i.e. the colors, minus images for the two console exclusive characters)

Order of Sections:

Introduction
Story: Story information for the character.

Unique Trait/Health: Most characters have a unique trait. Be it Hyde's chip damage, or Eltnum's bullet reload. This is outlined in this section. Use a linebreak and put the characters health. For the love of god use commas in your health value. If you want the values check the system page of the wiki, all but three characters health are there.

Gameplay: Basic gameplay outline for the character.

Move List
Normal Moves:Normals moves go here. 5A, 2A, 5B, 2B, etc etc. Order is grounded normals, A>B>C, 5>2 (repeat per normal), then air normals (notated j.X).

Charged normals have their own entry, using [X] for notation after the normal they are a charge of.

Command Normals: Command normals go here. i.e. anything that isn't 5/2. Move order goes A>B>C, direction order is clock-wise starting from 6 (6,3,2,1,4,7,8,9)

Dash Normals:Specific normals that happen when dashing are here.

Universal Mechanics: These are moves that every character has, but have different results per character. Each character has a different type of throw and Force Function. Effects of charged Force Function go in their own move (like seen on the Hyde wiki)

Special Moves: Special moves go here. If your character has ground and air versions of a move, list all versions with the bullet point things.

Infinite Words: This is where you talk about your characters Infinite words.

Infinite Words EXS: Describe your characters IW EXS here.

Combos
Honestly you can sorta go with whatever you want here, i'm not going to stop you. Feel free to put stuff starting from crumble, jump ins, combo trees.

Midscreen Starter: Put some combos that start midscreen here.

Corner Starter: Put some corner combos here.

Throw Starter: Combos starting from throw.

Colors
Colors all have their names already. If you put stupid shit like whatever moeblob anime character you think the color looks like I am going to remove it. You are not going to be touching this section unless you have clean sprite rips for Nanase or Byakuya. Don't be a smart-ass.

Also if you want to edit the Hyde page by all means have at it. I wrote most of that at like 4am just to get a template page done. I do not feel comfortable talking in depth about moves I've never used before so it's hella basic atm.

Are you guys still going to leave the old movelist images up there? The IW EXS input/info isn't even correct anymore...

I tried replacing Seth's with a cap of the updated one from the official website but my image text ended up fuzzy (sorry!) every time I converted from a PNG cap to JPG , so I didn't continue doing it and the wiki didn't let me replace the existing JPG with a PNG.

I have no idea how bell got such a clean JPG...

No, those graphics are just there right now. I'm not worrying about the graphics for the wiki until I have the game and can poke around the data. Let's focus on filling out the text for now.

I wanna do what I can to help with the Hyde page so I'll be emailing requesting an account shortly. This wiki isn't plagued by ads like the other one so I'd prefer to be able to just use this one.

Started to transfer everything over to the new setup (this is much easier to display frame data, based off the DL wiki setup).

Hyde, Linne and Nanase have been moved over. If you feel comfortable figuring it out feel free to help move pages over.

Do NOT fill out Cancel or Guard properties until I have decided on a notation. You will just be wasting time. (I will figure that out when I get home tonight.)

It's actually impossible to determine recovery frames for anything until we collect active frame duration for everything.

Posted

It gets left blank for now then.

Posted

...Is there a column where I can store total move duration for the time being, then?

Posted

Can i ask for what reason? Total move durration should be pretty easy to calculate, it just requires addition. That also means a lot of text insertion for whoever is maintaining the wiki (at this point, myself) for something temporary...

Posted

Because total move duration is measurable through capture methods, but distinguishing between active and recovery frames is not. Until the people with debug get everything sorted out, I have the former, but not the latter set of data.

Posted

The switch to the new format is complete! I will be proofing the pages and making sure everything fits the format over the next few days, but please start adding/playing with data now! If you're posting frame data PLEASE make sure that it is 100% accurate.

Do not post images to the wiki unless you have clean image rips, When the time comes for adding images to the wiki please also make them absolutely descriptive (i.e. UniWald5C.png, UniWald5CFrames.png, UniHyde623X.png). I will post an absolute guide for how we're going to format the image names once we have the frame viewer in our hands and have the power to post clean images.

I am going to do that tonight, after I install my new OS on my laptop. So very shortly. Air shielding will be displayed with the Guard properties because that's pretty much what it is...

Posted

I dunno, there are things that can be air-blocked (projectiles) and things that can't but are air-shieldable (most air normals). Unless you have a specific notation planned for those cases.

Posted

Air Shield and Air Guard are two different things, so yes they will be represented as such.
