HiagoX Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Buffs - All Level 2 Drives now are special cancelable. ? - Space Counter: Input changed from 46 to 214D and is now a strike move with guard point.
Wild Candy Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Sounds pretty cool. I take it that the 214D goes into the parry stance, and if Makoto's hit, she automatically goes into the attack follow up?
narutouzu4real Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 awesomeness!! that was one thing i didn't like. the 4-6 motion was too hard which made it too risky if i wasn't playing around. so i just about never used it, but now. . . >=) things are different now
Lvl2 drives can be cancelled into special moves. This change was made because non-Lvl3 drives were rarely used. Parry is now a strike with guard point.
KajiOkami95 Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 So what kind of tech do you think the "Lvl 2 drive special cancel" can offer? From the top of my head... if the move is still cancelable on block, I'm expecting some 214A-B-C into follow up shenanigans. Overall I sorta see this as a gap closer for some block strings... risky though.
Wild Candy Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 So i found some stuff on twitter 5D has slightly LESS untech time 2D combos don't combo like they did before (might not matter much given special cancels with LV2 drives) j.2C is cancelable 214A~D Has no follow up Ground Bounce 6B~C is still a thing also, given the fact she can cancel lv2 drive attacks into specials durring pressure, this also suggests that she could go into 214C for mix up stuff, and comet cannon for a situational reset. Also, given nerfs to certain characters like Valk and Koko, Makoto might not be bottom 5 anymore CP2 Hype levels have reached overload point.
Teutonicknight Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 It's looking better than it initially was, and a mid-tier Makoto is something I've always wanted back. Having a strike-style parry is going to take some getting used to though. Especially with half-circle input.
