I actually asked the guy at Insomnia about this.  He told me what you already know. "We don't hold tournaments for Blazblue anymore because everyone switched over to Guilty Gear when it came out."  --

Kevin and Jason mocked me by saying I could never pick up Blazblue based on superficial assumptions about player mindset so I'll wait for more information about the system directory and a tier list from Arcadia that lets me pick something with a good ease of difficulty to power ratio.

I wouldn't take anything they say for granted, really.

Other than Jan, no one really knows how to actually play BlazBlue in Houston. Truth is, everyone there is really bad at the game. I mean, you have someone like Jan who is the best in Houston, and he does not even play the game.

Talk to Jan about it, and see what he says about your game.

Honestly, he is the only one with a real opinion on someone's mindset.

What up houston. Dec 12 will be the next Test Your Skills 6 and will feature Blazblue. Some brawl players play blaz so it should be a good turnout. Don't worry about it Pozer, I was just riled up a bit from the remarks. Anger is always the best motivator for me, so maybe this time it will help me stick to the game instead of trashing it in disgust due to the lack of a player base or enjoyment of the system here. Hakumen looks like he's equivalent to Sagat right now, so it might be an easier transition :eng101:

But then again, you never played me in Fate, so I don't think you can beat me ^_^

You shouldn't claim such a thing that Houston don't know how to play BB when you haven't play Faulty and I can think of 3 great players that would put up a fight and they don't even go to PZ! They are console players and are pretty sick. Not even Faulty has played these 3 guy's only cause his ass won't come out to Pasadena. lol. I suck but I do play for the fun of it. I'm just saying just cause the BB scene is huge in Austin, doen't give you the right to come into the Houston thread and claim such a thing when you haven't even played Faulty. Unless you have along time ago but this man is a beast from what I've seen.

Rather unfair of me to judge the BB scene from an awful arcade (let's face it guys, PZ is trash).

I wouldn't mind playing these guys, and I actually have played Faulty in Blaz. Let's just say it's very one sided, sorry faulty!! :(

Next time I'm in Houston, I'm interested in playing these guys and see whats up.

but yeah, austin bb > houston bb (though last time it wasnt so one sided that i couldnt score several wins off some of his characters so don't make it out to be as bad as it was the first time...)

jaison was the only one taking CS seriously i think, jan was good but tager was just too shitty in CS

in CT what I can tell is kevin is hittin it hard and of course jaison is all over it...i still havent decided on a character

Ya...you're right pozer and faulty, Austin bb > Houston BB in regards to the scene. Though judging all of us as bad just because of the arcade we have to deal with isn't right. True, if you were to look at the quality of players (arcade scene wise) we have and the ones in Austin, theres more quality players in Austin. Anyhow, I'll see you in Austin for more arcana fights. Note: I think you have CS and CT reversed there faulty.

I do agree with you on the bolded letters. PZ GARRRRBAAGEEE. I hope new management comes in 2010 or houston will have to just go to the galleria. Scene up there is better and more competition anyways. Since you cant make it on Dec 12, No excuses for Test Your Skills 7 Jan. Will see you there Pozer...

I would like the money match to go down live on projector at Text Your Skills 7 (((IF))) pozers down. I would be doing sidebets but have to see how much beasts are in the building before I stay making that green fly. Let me know whats up...

I'm going to the Texans vs colts game this weekend and was hoping to go to pz afterward and try out cs. It sounds like i'll find the 'competition' to be alright since i'm not exactly a pro...

We might be able to get permission to extend it. If anyone has a copy of Tekken 6 they can bring let me know. List of games: Smash Bros. Brawl, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur IV, Street Fighter IV, Call of Duty MW2, Halo ODST/3 This week we'll have FPS/multiplayer games running on a projector. Some games that gamers have brought that we might play include Drake's Fortune 2, Wii Sports Resort, UFC Undisputed 2009, Fight Night Round 4, Madden 10, and Punch Out Wii and a variety of other titles. If you plan to come it would be helpful to let us know what you want to play and what you can bring. We request that you bring your own controller for the game you want to play but it's not mandatory. We usually have 20 - 35+ gamers coming so disregard the RSVP count. There will be BlazBlue too! Just letting yall know. Peace.

Depending on how much of my project I have done, I may be available wednesday, thursday is probably a no go for sure though Though I still have to turn in an assignment online by the end of the week, today is the last day of finals i'm fuckin stoked and ready to celebrate with some whoopass
