Not satisfied with your performance in the main tournaments? Wanna make some money against a smaller field? We will be holding 8 man double elimination side tournaments for SSF4! Only if you get eliminated out of the main event can you participate. The first 8 players to sign up begin the first side tourney. We will be doing this repeatedly all day long every day (every time we get another 8 people signed up, another tourney will begin!) $10 per player Winner takes all $80!!!!

Tournament format is Double Elimination for all games. Any tournament that exceeds 100 entrants will pay out top 8 spots and all others will pay out usual 70/20/10 (except REDEMPTION Tourneys which is 100% to winner).

I looked around into a few places. Mash harder was pretty dead, and the PZ link is pretty dead aside from a ton of SF4 stuff. I went by PZ and screwed around on BB, but was sad to see GG was still broke and they had taken out Arcana Heart 3. Where's a good place to get acquainted?

arcana board broke last i heard, and i dont think they were gonna pay to fix it. They took out gear a while back cuz people stopped playing it at the arcade a little before street fighter 4 came out

as far as i know PZ still had weekly street fighter tourneys on thursday nights, that'd probably be the biggest turnout there

on wednesdays there are street fighter 4 get togethers (and maybe blazblue?) at smilys sports bar in sugarland (5 dollar cover fee, 18 and up)

tuesdays i think a decent # of people go to monsters arcade in NW houston, for SF4 and blazblue

as far as i know the only people that play gear in this town anymore hang around my apt from time to time (and thats not many), and i still need to get a replacement ps2 stick

I dont go to pz much at all anymore, and last i did, i just played a run thru of the fate unlimited codes story mode and left

Phone hasn't posted the last 3 attempts to reply. -_- I'm a huge fan of GG, but with no one to play with hardly, I'm scrubbly. I play a lot of BB, but I'm probably only midway to decent. Netplay is a sad substitute for arcades, and it's pretty lame there are hardly any GG players around. Been looking around for more people to play to sharpen my skills and get better, but haven't had much luck.

I'm not a huge fan of SF4's system, and the community reminds me of Halo's. Unfortunately, the majority of PZ plays it, and there are only a handful of BB'ers. Shame to hear about AH3, I was looking forward to trying it out before I import it.

Shoot me a PM and we'll talk about maybe hanging out and getting some matches in. I've been tempted to mod my 360 stick to play on a PS2, or pick up a backwards compatible PS3 if I can find one around, but I don't mind padding it up. I'll warn you my main opponents have been AI, a couple of friends a couple drunken nights a month, and my little sister. I know most of the basic fundamentals of 2d fighters, but am probably scrubbish as shit compared to more srs players.

Pz sux. I don't see the point in paying a dollar to play one match and most of the ppl who play bb there suck. Except kensou. & from what I heard most of em wont help you eithere. Also another reason i dont go is because they never went to monsters or midnight comics to support the scene therefor i dont see why i shpuld support their scrubby sceneSmileys is mainly ssf4 since most of the ppl who play bb don't wana pay! Im sorry I don't get on my knees and kiss you're feet when you give me advice. All I say is ok what else ddo you want me to do? I've never said" hey fuck you I know what im doing" I just listen then I work on it. Ask homeboy darren. When he helped me out too all i said was "ok" and try to work on my mistakes. I can take criticism and i wont get mad if youre trying to help. If anything i appreciate that because that lets me know what i need to work on. Im not like the other people at pz who dick ride you all or hori who has to look back at you and ask who he should use against sam and get raped anyways. I was landing my combos in the tourney. I can do my dive cancel loops on almost all the carachters and land almost all the 100% curse combos. Hori couldn't even air grab to full curse. If anything he would jump and get grabbed. Then when I first went to pz I tried talking to him and I still say what's up to you guys and hori talked to me like he's the best in the country. Hori couldn't even beat bukethead and buket head barely plays the game. Cmon.

If you're looking for someone to dick ride you the way hori does then im the wrong person. If you wana go play bb at monsters than im all for it. If you work on it, you can get it and step your arakune up by a lot. Because as it is, your ara is only scary up until you get curse.

Also, I don't know why your bringing hori into this man. We were just trying to enjoy ourselves there, and the reason he asked what

character to play? He doesn't have a main character anymore and quit BB months before that tourney. So unless you know the full story behind that stuff, don't bother mentioning it.

PS: Yes, hori has an ego the size of texas. We know that, and in all reality, I have no idea what his problem with you is.

I stopped trying to get the BB scene grow before I even met you man, there's no high horse to get off of and never was.

You want to talk to me about a scene I wanna grow, get to me about arcana.

I talked to the guys at monsters about Arcana meet ups and I'm setting them up on Tuesdays the week after it is released.

If you want help with that, it's not a problem. Just please have an idea of what character you intend to use, it'll make things

much easier and much faster to get you adjusted to the game.

Monsters and midnight are both about hour from where I live man, the few times I went to monsters for bb casuals, there was hardly anyone there.

If you want actual practice, grab your stick and come by my place or antoine's. My cell has been out for quite awhile and around the time I

met you, my service provider was delivering about 10% of any inbound or outbound text messages, so any messages you sent were

likely either not received or my reply never was sent out. That's my fault, can't really do anything about that at the moment due to bills and school.

I wana use eko for sure. I wana main her but I also wana use kira but im iffy since she's a grappler. Stone told me she's not a conventional grappler though and she actually rushes down and stuff. As far as ah3 goes me, ash, jp, & daniel wana play it. Aj wants to play it but his moving to austin if im not mistaken. I don't really like having more then one charachter so I wana give kira a try and if I like her ill tey to use her too but eko looks to sick!

Jan mentioned that to me a long while back and then ya, the board broke on us that same day.

Kira may be a grappler but stone's right on that, she is most certainly not a conventional grappler.

She has a fairly solid rush down and decent tick throw set ups. The main thing to remember though is

that movement is just as important as offense and defense in this game. Kira is fairly good at it,

saw a lot of her in japan but she has a lot of problems against quick moving characters.

Eko is a fairly good character too, but relies on clash frames and long active frame attacks. Plus,

the arcana used with her has some importance. Really fun character though.

Should be interesting regardless though, we have a site for arcana btw, homingcancel.com,

I started a Houston thread a lil while ago so most of the information about get togethers will be there.

i got a stick but i dont have the tools necessary to open it up and put in the parts i want >.>

but i can make due

other than that i have a few ps2 pads that are all kinda iffy sometimes, i suggest bringing what you want to play on tho

also have a ps3 with tekken 6, blazblue, and ssf4 and maybe one stick if i decide to operate on it and put all the pieces back together.

also have a 360 with nothing...if u want to play on it you'll need to bring a game and controller

i wanna get ah3 when it comes out

but if anything is gonna stop me itll be [saki's dp + near infinite boost meter towards the end of matches]

god that gets old REAL fast
