Kanji has really good resets and becomes even more annoying if you are paralyzed, and of course DP and evasive action aren´t good ideas at all (if you do an evasive action he can catch you with his command grabs and if he uses his DP you will end up getting hit and paralyzed, seriously, what were they thinking when they decided to give him such DP?). Other than that this matchup should not be a huge problem. The problem I am exposing here is general, no one feels sure against Kanji in corner lol
fruits_punch95 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Fought a friend who plays him some days ago and I did 5D while pressuring him and he tried to punish me with the command grab supper and I thought I was screwed but no, Izanagi actually stopped him!! This is great since I thought that Kanji could punish this with the supper.

Use IABD air Zio when you can, trying a ZC j.C as a safejump occasionally is decent, and in general, don't be too risky. FC combo off anything except 2A that doesn't knockdown on hit is - FC 5A 5B 5C 236A 214AB 2B 5C IAD J.BB 5C TK 214A 5B 5C 2C 214B Also,break his persona! This is extremely important, because without his persona, he can't DP, and only does like 300 damage off a grab!
fruits_punch95 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I recommend to jump when we wake up once in a while so that in next occasions he may think you are going to jump and try to catch you with his broken 236C and if you do not, then it is a free punish. He makes you guess, then make him guess too. Also, there is something I am not sure yet but I think that J2B does hit him in the startup of his 236C, but again, I am not sure. Our best tools here 236C and J236C and something Kanji needs a lot in his neutral game is J.236A/B, feel free to DP the hell out of him if he does some of these (would not recommend to DP him if he does the ground versions in block-string) I am going to add more info on the matchup as soon as I can find out more things. Thankfully my friend is a great Kanji player and that makes him a good source of info lol
