[P4U2] Yukiko vs. Adachi

Today, the hunter becomes the hunted! Yukiko takes on the crooked police dick, Tohru Adachi! Can she see through his schemes and bring him down, or will she find herself beaten by a murderer? Let the evaluation into this matchup begin!

I can't figure out this matchup to save my life. You can't 2B anti-air his j.C because it just hits the persona and then Adachi punishes you out of 2B recovery. Feels like your only option for counter-poking him out of his pressure is DP as most of his normals both outrange and outspeed yours. Zoning is not an option either because of 2D and Atom Smasher. Feels like you have to run away most of the match and hope he makes a mistake.

Based on personal experiences, this is a matchup you should completely avoid online at all costs. It'll frustrate you to no end.

 

Yukiko can 2B or DP his 2D. Keep in mind that his normals beat out ours. As for his j.5C, I compare it to Labrys' j.5B and so I would just roll through it or respect it. That's pretty much all you can do. When Adachi has meter, things become frustrating because thanks to Atom Smasher,  you need to watch your every move because Yukiko's moves on whiff spell danger against him with meter.

I know there's no bit on Yukiko but on weaker starters she should be able to get a forward air tech j.B or neutral air tech 6B to work to hit MIzanagi.
