Well. I suppose I can delurk this once... :v: Kokonoe'll be at ACen AND Otakon, for the record.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing about ACen's tourney list, but I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed. Not that I have nearly enough practice with BB for a tourney, anyway, I'll probably be sticking to Accent Core if anything (assuming they have that tourney again, I HOPE they do...)

OMGHAI

yeah the only fighting games on their official list are SF, MB, and Tekken [also Brawl for the people crazy enough to count that as a fighting game]

I need to figure out how to start unofficial tourneys...

sup. Ugh, I'm so sick of seeing nothing but SF tourneys LOL... Hell, something as simple as setting up in someone's hotel room for matches would be fun enough, yanno? Do those hotel room TV's even have hookups? The ones at Anime Boston don't, me and my buddies always talk about doing room GG tournies there but we can't because of the lack of hookups. :(

Speaking of hotel room stuff, Kokonoe's makeup takes a little while, apologies in advance if I end up like, imposing on your bathroom that morning, I'll try to be quick..... :psyduck: Freakin' hate the blue line

OH right this is the cosplay thread, and since I'm an avid Cure stalker, I'll post up some of my fave recent BB stuff from there- apologies if any are repeats:

Tsubaki: http://i45.tinypic.com/2gt8aip.png

nice Noel, Jin, Hakumen shot: http://i47.tinypic.com/11id8b5.png

There's this guy ZON that does really good Ragna cosplay (he's a bit of an *ahem* fanservicey cosplayer, as in eyecandy for girls, but it's still well-done), and he also did one of Ragna's prototype designs. I have a large-ish amount of his stuff so I'll upload and post it later.

At ACen the TVs have some cord to prevent you from playing, but it's really easy to pull it out. Played GG casuals after a tourney my first year and it was cool [until my friends dragged me out cuz they didn't want me hanging with old people... we were 14 so... >>]

Pfft yeah as long as they can't tell you messed with it (and don't charge you...) who cares, ha. Hell, if anyone really wants to chill and play, I'll bring PS2/AC+/controllers if wanted, since I'm bringing my cosplay stuff in my suitcase anyway each day to change... I'll just have to check how late the train schedules go if it happens late, but I was fine last year.

I usually bring my PS2 and whatever GG game is newest [AC+ now].

:D

Fun shall ensue.

Sweet. I'll bring an extra controller if needed.

Cool.

I COULD also bring Isuka if anyone wants lulz.

My multitap is shit though...

LMAO why would you ever.... man I don't think I've actually played Isuka in at least 2 years. Prolly longer.

Oh, I also have KOF XI with me if you want me to bring that...

So how's Mu-12 cosplay going? :RA:

I'm actually stoked to see Mu cosplays. I like her design, even if she's a shameless KOS-MOS clone.

Actually, on Cure, I've only even seen one or two Nu's so far- here's the only one I have saved offhand: http://i46.tinypic.com/11jreb8.png

It's an alright Nu, though I've seen better-constructed ones stateside, such as this alt color one: http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2342409/

IT'S A SECRET.

Yeah I need to be prodded for things to happen.

LOL you're not the only one... I'm really hesitant to start on Kokonoe's tails because I'm still learning the ins and outs of ACen's retarded cosplay rules (like the 6" thing, wtf is that).

But if you DO end up making Mu I would totally love to take pics of/with you XD I need to work on my cosplay photography more, anyway. It's just a matter of when I can get my hands on the school's cameras >.> And ACen always being finals/dorm moveout weekend is super unhelpful. Of course, if it was any later, I couldn't go at all, so...

Speaking of... someone linked my Kokonoe's older photos from dA, right? Here's a newer one, in case anyone is actually interested: http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2445511/

I know, I only did the makeup for half my face- I'm lazy ok.

The rule is 4 feet for props I think... unless they changed it? I know this from when I was A.B.A and my prop was 1 foot too tall so we had to mutilate him. :<

I know the prop rules is 4' (which is annoying but more understandable), it's this rule about things not being able to protrude further than 6" from your body that sounds absolutely ridiculous to me.

Haha, I have a 7. foot. tall Paracelsus body sitting forever unfinished in my workroom at home, and that's WITHOUT the head. Of course I was making it for someone that was 6' tall, so...

That's a lovely Kokonoe you've got there, Kitsoru!

And Mu cosplay? Do wanna see~ You'll show it to us when it's done, right, Jam-Kiske? :D

Ah. I forgot that one... it's kind of irrating that there's so many rules... >>

And there shall surey be pictures of my outfit when it gets made~

[excitement ensues]

Kitsoru : Even your facial traits fits perfectly to her! That's what I'm the most picky about usually (since the costume can be bought, same for the wigs, so it can be biased to judge the skill of a cosplayer on its costume alone. . .but your costume, and especially your wig, look above average), but you really have it. Really nice! Jam : I'm quite curious about your Mu cosplay too. <__< I'll try to bribe my Noel cosplayer (the one we had planned for the convention we're attending to (Otakuthon '10)) to cosplay Mu too. But she's complexed about stomach revealing costumes... Oh yeah, at least she let me molest her. That's better than nothing. And my Jin costume is 70% completed. I just have to make the finition for the Jacket and the undershirt, and it's going to be done, that and ordering contacts. A tip I'd like to remind myself: never order circle lenses ever again, those are surely the most uncomfortable shit ever created.

Oh a Jin costume sounds spiffy. There was a pretty good Jin back at Youmacon who I semi-stalked [saw him like 5 times and asked for a pic EVERY SINGLE TIME :D] I dunno if I want to do contacts for my outfit.. it'd be good but I need glasses so colored ones with prescrpition = EXPENSIVE SHIT As far as the Mu outfit goes I'm nearly unhealthy in terms of how skinny I am so I'm cool showing my stomach. Bewbs are what I lack so it works fine for Noel in general. I'd never cosplay someone with big boobs though as it would be so wrong [my friends wanted me to be Orihime once and I was like NO GUYS]

Posted

I got stalked by a bunch of girls and glomped by a loli (I swear, she couldn't be possibly older than seven) at the last con I've been to (I was in Kaito from Vocaloid). And my friend was in Sol Badguy (considering she was (...no wait she still is) a girl...and quite a busty one, it was hilarious, she didn't even tried to compress her chest). I have glasses. I'm nearly blind (and fated to be blind someday, duh...). I don't order prescribed lenses, I just keep my glasses on, and take them off if I'm asked for pictures (well in Jin's case, I could almost keep them, if they weren't so thick). Well, Mu is all dat ass & hips. Breasts are pretty much covered by her cloak anyway. So you're fine. For Orihime, well, tissues, loads of them.

PSSH You're blind? My prescription already reads Helen Keller. One day I shall finally go to a convention and see all the cosplaying... and maybe get into cosplaying myself eventually. That story is pretty funny... is it sad that I want pics cuz I'm creepy like that? :vbang: I can't wait to see/hear about your costumes when they're done :3

Exactly. I swear, ACen is the strictest con I've ever been to in terms of just piles and piles of rules and regulation of stuff and all that.... :8/: I've heard AX is bad about that too but I'm not sure first-hand. I understand ACen has space issues but seriously.. 6 inches? I could understand wanting to keep the amount of giant wings blocking up the hotel areas down, but 6" is just too little. A foot, maybe.

Thanks! I'll admit I.... don't particularly feel like I do, really, though mostly I just have *ahem* height sensitivity issues (yeah one of those tiny short girls, hence why I cosplay May). But I hate the ugly inaccurate bitchboots Japanese cosplayers wear even more, so XD;

Oh yeah, at least she let me molest her. That's better than nothing.

lolwat

Oh wow, I've never seen her before. She looks awesome :yaaay:
