  1. Hm, just by eyeballing it I get the feeling it won't combo, not enough hitstun on Noel's j.c. If you really want to use that combo and get some semblence of oki, you could drive install into a 623d. Because of proration though, they won't be stunned all the way till they fall, but they'll air tech in your face and the momentum is still in your favour. Her BnB's all involve something like that, most of the time. There are other combos that do like, 5-10% more damage, but most of the time drive>214a>drive ender is your go to combo if you want reliability. It's the 'best' way you can capitalize on damage, but not a good way to get in, 5d'ing into someone who's going to be blocking isn't safe. If you want to get in you have to know your spacing and footsie game reasonably well, and make use of your normals instead of drive. Edit: I've been thinking actually, since the 2d reset works by hitting before the opponent is able to stand up, wouldn't that make it an unblockable if 2d still hit overhead like in CT? Because if it's done properly, you can't block it high even if you want to, there's no time to stand up before it hits again. Haha pity 2d isn't an overhead anymore, that would have been amusing.
  2. If you can do them, why not? They're not exactly very easy though, especially the last bit, it's like 6d (wait) 4d (wait longer) 5c and so on, you're always on the knife edge of proration and spacing with regards to dropping the combo, plus j.236c ender means you lose oki. Still, if your execution is that good go ahead, you deserve that 5k. Personally I'm sticking to braindead easy 4.2k from CH 5d. Lot's of corner push with the option to end with Fenrir if they're in the corner after 236d for 5k.
  3. Nope, don't need CH, normal 3c will do. That video was recorded at an arcade, so the CH would probably be just random chance, it's an actual fight and not a setup. Man, but if that Noel can bust out those last few 3c combos in a match situation, that's pretty good. Anyway, 6c 6d and especially 6c 22b 6d are very spacing dependant, you want to hit the guy as high 22b will allow so you can 6d before he reaches the floor and techs. The only person I can replicate it reliably on is Tager. The modified ender to the combo is very interesting though, after j.d into 6d 4d 5c JC j.c 6c j.c j.236c, now that I've a proper training mode on console BBCS I'll explore it a little bit more.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDdQvtTn-OU&translated=1 Not really a Noel video, but I found this over at the Tager forums. Nice short vid showing both players' options after a gadget finger/neutral situation where you're standing beside Tager. Most of us probably know this by heart already, but new players might find it educational. It's in Japanese but pretty easy to understand.
  5. From what I've seen 6c tends to bounce them back the same distance every time. It is a very very tight link though, at least I wasn't getting it reliably, I'm not going to be busting it out in a match anytime soon.
  6. I haven't touched CT for ages so I forget if Nu had the same thing, I think her throw combos are different. Don't lose too much sleep over it though, it's something you can probably learn in 30 mins tops, more importantly you need match experience to make sure you don't choke doing it in a real match. At the least you can watch the Mu vids people are putting up, good for getting a sense of how her moves flow into each other and her general playstyle, always useful.
  7. Almost no one, if you ask me, she is pretty distinct from Nu who looks like she would play like her. Sort of, I don't know, Nu and Ara's playstyles together. There really is no good substitute haha, the only significant thing she shares with a member of the previous cast (Lambda) is her throw (dash) 6a link, which is pretty important to learn.
  8. I'm very interested in the combo at 2:20 of that video. The Mu uses 214d (whiff) to cancel the recovery of 6c and continue the combo. I was trying something like that but nothing seemed fast enough to catch the guy after the 6c wallbounce, good to see 66a fits the bill. 214d whiff also gives a her a pretty damaging meterless option off her throw, cool. Edit: I went and tried it for myself, and it's a pretty tight link, that 214d whiff to 66a. It's quite important for 6c to hit them as high as possible so they take longer to reach the ground, giving you enough time to dash up and 6a.
  9. Three way fight! I'm using that colour as well, same palette as my Noel colour http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?8454-Noels-CS-Color-Chart&p=656560&viewfull=1#post656560 On topic though, 236a is pretty good to use after ending a combo with j.2c, locks them down and buys you time to set up steins.
  10. Good stuff. I especially like 66b 66a 6b 66a because it has quite a bit of corner push.
  11. It actually clashes with stuff like inferno divider, very cool but not something I would do unless I'm winning and want to mess around. Never really experimented much with it since it's so gimmicky, maybe you can cancel into j.236236d after the clash or something, lol. Also, if you space it right, even if your opponent blocks the j.d, you'll land too far to be punished easily, but still near enough for 214d to cross up again. Situationally useful against Noels that like to spam drive on wakeup. Jump, see them go into drive, hit j.d and profit, if not, just land and resume pressure. Alternative to poking with 5a/2b and getting hopped over by random 2d's if you mistime it.
  12. 236a [66c 236a] x N If we're talking about shenanigans, my favourite troll thing to do is run at the someone waking up and jump over and meaty j.d on their recovery, then 214d when I land for a second crossup.
  13. I've tried it in training mode, set a Noel to j.4d through my AA, even slow AA's like Mu's 2c allow her to recover in time to block j.4d. So I wouldn't expect to get a hit of any sort unless the opponent is mashing. It would be fine if j.4d didn't perform that little 3rd jump that buys the opponent enough time to recover. You'll probably score a primer break though, but then you'll be stuck in drive against a blocking opponent so it sort of nullifies any benefit you gained. I honestly hope they do something to j.4d in the future, I only ever press it when I'm winning and feeling confident, and even then I end up regretting it half the time.
  14. I found it quite funny when AkSys on Facebook put up a couple of pictures with all the new stuff that characters gained from CT > CS. Belial Edge, new distortions, etc. For Noel there was just "You can j.4d in the air now" and all I could think of was the new unsuspecting Noel players in for a world of hurt when they try it.
  15. It seems it has invulnerability, I went and tested it, perhaps someone else can double confirm. Doesn't really matter though because j.4d is still crap. Lolol perhaps if one day you get caught in the air without barrier and Jin is about to ice arrow super you, you can blow his mind by dodging it with j.4d.
  16. Hm until you land? That seems a little excessive, but I don't know myself, never had anyone try to hit me out of the air while j.4d'ing (they just wait till I land LOL j.4d). I'll test it out later. Might be useful for air-to-air situations then, but I'm thinking even if you use it to dodge something, both of you will land and your opponent will have recovered already - might take out a primer I guess.
  17. After 3c, the 222d hits them before they land on the floor completely so I think it can hit airbourne opponents, though they probably have to be close to the ground. It's horizontal hitbox doesn't seem to be as good as it looks though, I tried stuff like CH 6c 222d to test if it could reach, but no dice. Also, 5b doesnt combo to 6b, only CH 5b > 6b is possible. 6b also doesnt combo into 5c even on counter hit.
  18. Yeah that Noel was pretty good at 5d'ing through Mu's dp, 3 times in total lol.
  19. 0:28 of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhIuuyD1mpQ j.4d has invincibility frames on startup? Noel seemed to dodge Mu's ginormous j.c.
  20. @Pyro90x Meterless, you can follow up 6b with 63214c or 623c, that's it. In the corner you can RC that 63214c and go into her corner loop. If you have steins nearby (as in really near), 6b combos into Yata no Kagami as well, and you can do 66 5c 2c air combo after that. Yeah, but there's nothing much you can do from 6b in general I guess, it's like how Hazama's 6a elbow drop only combos into his 236236b. @Rageru, that first one works, pretty much anything 3c into 222d combos fine, 222d has a pretty big hitbox. I'm unsure about the second one though, 5b 6b 5c? How do you do that? @1:33 of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhIuuyD1mpQ there's another way of comboing after RC'ing an air throw, the MU did 6b 6a 6b 6a 2c air combo.
  21. Actually, that only applies to her 236d bouncing laser, which is fair game imo since it takes some time to execute. Also it adds some depth to her gameplay, smart positioning of steins can increase the time that laser is out and bouncing around. Her normal lasers on the other hand are subject to this. If she summons a stein and you catch her in a blockstring in time, it won't fire, which is fair enough, if not you would never be able to pressure her.
  22. There a R-1_ryuhua or something at the top of the Noel leaderboards, 75%ish win ratio, I figure it's probably him. Yeah, his Bang has a 92% win ratio lol.
  23. R-1's still playing Noel if his D-card on PSN isn't lying, though he's subbing Bang it seems LOL.
  24. Can do on everyone pretty much, some are harder than others but still possible (smaller hitboxes, 66a too early and they will be too high for 6b to hit), it's also probably best to swap that second 66a for 5c to avoid same move proration.
  25. I think this is worth mentioning while we are waiting for official frame data. It seems like her different steins do have different recovery times, with 2d/5d recovering slightly faster than 4d/6d. I tested this by doing CH 2c xx stein > 5c. You recover in time to hit them with 5c if you cancel with 5d/2d, and too late if you cancel with 4d/6d. Perhaps someone else would like to try this out? In case I made a mistake somewhere.
