  2. Trying to get here on Thursday or Friday (probably Friday, hopefully more people will be there for Persona). Can't wait to give the game a shot.
  3. Man, this is exciting. Been looking forward to this for a while. Bringing some friends again. They all play Skullgirls, but I'm not sure if any of them is going to enter the tournament, unfortunately.

  7. Does anyone know why Plat can do 22C after a back throw?

It appears that Platinum may be effected by the wallbounce glitch shown in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvLVbtnqf9A&feature=channel_video_title Her back throw fails to bounce the following characters off of the wall: Bang, Hakumen, Hazama, Tager, Litchi, Tsubaki, Valkenhayn, Lambda, and Mu-12. Sorry if this is old news, or if its actually just some character-specific circumstance. I searched this forum and didn't see anything about this. Thought it might help some people out to at least know that this happens, glitch or not.
  9. My friend did get those vids up, but there's nothing noteworthy in the trials he's done so far. Also, he's not all that good with Jin, so he might not be able to get to the last few combos recorded soon.

  12. I think he's saying that the trade with 6D puts them into the air, so they won't be able to normal block the 623D after the trade.
  13. I'm not sure, but I thought that 1/2/3A > 5B was the standard for catching tech rolls.
  14. souseta, you probably have to delay the second 5C (the one right before the j.2C). If you don't delay it, they'll be too high in the air for you to air dash and not fly past them. Or you might delay the air dash>j.2C too much, and the opponent will be grounded, but unfrozen, by the time it comes out.
  15. Jin can be hit out of the Astral in CT too. Tested with Bang. Like smoosh said, it has no invincibility frames. So a character with an attack that doesn't disappear or stop if the character gets hit (like Bang's nails) can knock Jin out of the astral, even if they're already frozen in it.
  16. The following is the opinion of a scrub It feels like Jin's mid-range air game is not as effective as in CT because j.B's too slow to beat Ragna's j.A. It might trade with Ragna's j.B if spaced correctly, but it feels like Ragna's j.B is slightly faster than Ragna's. j.C probably beats out most of Ragna's air attacks, but if he's a little bit below Jin, Ragna usually gets a CH. Jin's options on reversal aren't as good as before since CH623A has a lower damage cap than before (if I remember correctly), and larger recovery window, while CH623C has more recovery, making reversals more dangerous for a lower gain (not even talking about the difficulty of combing of off CH623C). While Jin's pressure is still decent, his mix-ups are still shit. And we can't forget the decreased firepower, either. Since Jin's reversal options are more punishable, Ragna can either bait and punish, or go straight for combos with high damage and/or heat gain (both options giving him heat and control of the match), while risking a small combo's worth of damage and losing control of the fight. Arguably a higher reward for Ragna if he guesses right than for Jin. Combine that with a free rapid after a couple of BE combos, Ragna can play it safe, wait for Jin to come, and reversal through pressure and RC if it's blocked. Or he can rush in and do high risk, high reward mixups, and RC if they are blocked. 40-60 seems plausible to me. Sorry if I mostly listed what Ragna has going for him, but it doesn't feel like Jin got anything new that improves his matchup vs. Ragna, except for new pressure methods and the corner loop. Then again, I'm just a scrub, so this is all probably bullshit anyway...

  19. souseta, I doubt it has to be counter hit. Since, IIRC, the extra hitstun from a CH doesn't carry on to the next attack in a combo (save for FC), they simply need to be crouching.

  21. I've started using 2C>214C in the corner, instead of 6C>214C. 2C launches them right up to the level of the icecar, and I like the options that you get off of it better, if I want to mix it up. Also, souseta, the combo did 2804, which I think is a little bit more damage than he could have gotten if he'd left out the j.236B. If the 3C>2B link still prorates as much as it did in CT, then that explains the low damage. If I get the opportunity to go through arcade mode tomorrow, I'll see if he can tack this onto his normal air combo (maybe j.236C might work) and other things with the j.236 series.

  23. Haku-men's 6B is an overhead now. Well, at least the first hit is. So far I've only seen people block the whole thing with a high block, so the second hit is either overhead or mid. On-topic: Really love j.B's lower blockstun. Yay for more pressure options!
