All this waiting, all this anticipation for finding the lyrics of Heavy Day, until you are reminded that Engrish will always be Engrish. lol
-
You an incredible looking Kaguya, mate.
-
Do you prefer the English or Japanese voices?
Tsuki Garyuu replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Zepp Museum
If the dub of a fighting game is good in the first place, then I stick with it. You'll need skill to make dubs that are worse than every KoF game that was ever dubbed. This thread won't be out for too long, given the very nature of this topic. -
Is it just me or was BBCP's localization job rather sloppy?
Tsuki Garyuu replied to Jotamide's topic in Zepp Museum
This. Whether it's a fighting game or any other genre of game, whether you value the core functions over the overall package, the overall package still matters. A product is still a product, and ASW has shown us enough times that they disregard that almost blatantly. Sloppy localization is a factor that minimizes the value:price ratio of this game, or any other game for that matter (see: Koei's recent localizations); especially at full price. -
Ladies and gentlemen, your new death cry. "MY TEQUILA!" *faints* Thank you, Grant George.

Rising the Clouds is admittedly not quite fitting, unless you consider him siding with That Man. Ricochet...I'm mixed on this one. It seriously shouldn't fit Baiken, but contextually speaking, it kinda does. A low-tempered, highly aggressive avenger who will kill anyone just to get to That Man. I guess it's because the artist chose the wrong instruments for this. Tears are Forever. Necro's theme. That is all.
-
Yeah, definitely not. Still irking, though.

I heard Celicia in tutorial mode and she sounds quite nice. I believe it was because Tony was doing ADR work at the start of the dub process and couldn't afford to leave them.

Well, even if you don't like Chipp's or I-no's KR themes, as character themes, I honestly don't see how one would say "no" to Eddie's Dementia. It's just as compatible to his character as Feel a Fear, just with some added tones of demented "spookiness." Hell, I associate Eddie with the former than the latter. Also, thanks for that. That even more safely confirms that english vocal albums tend to have mediocre written lyrics, and you can thank these guys. I'm looking at Blazblue's and I don't see any indication of a lyricist except the vocal arranger.
-
"Oh do NOT tell me MY ICE CAR'S ON MY F**KING ROOF!" Oh yes, do that before Daisuke makes another...L.A./N.Y. vocal album. He was the lyricist, right? I mean most everyone could tell how literal English those lyrics were, more apparent in the Blazblue album.
-
Yeah, I forgot it actually did have a vocal version. Never mind then.

The thing that makes Kagematsuri a fitting theme is how it leans towards to the sexy and kinky side of her personality. The kind of metal song that, if it had lyrics, should tell you what a devilish little bitch I-no is, who's having a lot of fun with what she's doing. Then we have Blacklight Babe, which conveys pretty much the same message, but on the electric rock side. With this new theme, I get what you're saying, but I don't think it portrays I-no well enough even with those standalone qualities, making this a dud. You can give it to some other new character in this game. It really all comes back to how incomplete the OST is. It has the skeleton, but not the flesh.

Guess I'll make my own input soon. Makes for good replacements: Sol - Love this theme a lot and even though it seems to be entirely different, it is still made so that you do know this is indeed Sol's new theme. One of the few themes that are as good as the previous ones. Axl - You can just feel he went back through time to adapt his first theme, March of the Wicked, into something great. Retains (or probably adapts) an old-school rock feeling, which I like a lot. Fits Axl like a glove too. Wouldn't mind liking this over Make Oneself. Chipp - Suck A Sage was one of those themes that fit a character, indefinitely, yet I still feel indifferent towards. I grew to not like it as much as I used to, but I don't hate it either. I guess the same can be said for Chipp's new theme, which also fits him, but I'm starting to actually like it. I do like Child of the Wild more than both, however. Slayer - Way better than Don't You Have Eyes in Your Head. As good as that track was, a new theme with an ever-so-sexy saxophone will make me want to play in his stage over and over again. Potemkin - Oh...hell...yes. It's a good replacement if you look at it continuity-wise. A theme that I think he deserved at this point in the series. Millia vs. Zato-1: Still in the Dark was a nice VS theme for these two, but you know what? So is this. It's like the perfect continuation of a cursed and very demented love story. Mirror Match - Mostly because I don't have a thing for Mirror themes, so I don't mind having this new one. It doesn't replace the Mirror EX theme from GGX2, Fated Duel, though, but that's assuming we don't get a new version of that. Good, but not replaceable: Millia - Like Potemkin's, a theme she deserved at this point in the series, but I can't say, just yet, that it replaces Writhe in Pain, especially not The Great Empress. May - Slightly better than her old theme. Slightly. My impressions of it waver a bit seeing as Blue Water Blue Sky wasn't a theme I listen to a lot. Impressions may change over time. Zato-1 - It's pretty kickass, but for a character theme, doesn't quite do him justice. Not menacing enough compared to his old theme, especially compared to Dementia. Yes, I keep bringing up the Korean OST. They are just as important for comparing the new themes. Venom - Split between thinking it's a theme he deserved and one that's a good replacement. Pretty badass, yes. Replacement? Not sure. Sol vs. Ky: Noontide and No Mercy are just too good to be replaced, but that doesn't mean I don't accept this new VS theme. It's still retains the feeling you get when listening to a Sol vs. Ky theme while adding a few touches of The Recoming. Duds: Ky - Ky, Ky, Ky...why? This is so unlike him, even from a continuity POV. It's too...light-hearted...if you can call it that. It's even weirder when you consider the fact that Holy Orders III was just thrown in there for dynamism. I-no - A good theme, but not a good I-no theme. Faust - This is not a theme you listen to and instantly think "Faust." More like "Slayer" than anything. Assassins - Not too much a dud, it just doesn't do justice for the previous Assassin theme to me. The soundtrack one hit-or-miss too many, but it's still alright. However, after listening to the themes a lot, the whole soundtrack feels...beta...incomplete. As if the compositions miss so many marks that would've made them even greater, especially the ones that make good replacements to me. You will hate me when I say that there are some parts of GVG's remixes that are better than the originals, particularly Sol's and I-no's. Oh yeah, I said it. Still, as far as impressions go, the OST has its duds, but again, it's still alright.

From what the commentators of that ArcLive tournament keep shouting, the opening line sounds more like "RADIO."
-
Aye. I was still a little too caught up in the Engrish of "RET IT OOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUT!" Though I think it's "Guns and steel."
-
This should be the main menu theme too once this game is on consoles.
-
Just discovered this remix of Ky's new theme. Nothing to write home about, but it's alright.
-
This could just be me, but does anyone notice there's an air of dynamism in how the soundtracks play in-game? Like this fight here. The moment it goes to Danger mode is when Sol's theme shifts a little bit before going back to standard. Or that's just a part of his theme and it's just mere coincidence that it feels dynamic. This fight however shifts from Ky's new theme to Holy Orders III when Ky's hair is out. Why the exact same Holy Orders III theme, I have no clue. There is the Dragon Install music, of course, but that's a power up theme to be forced in, just like Bang's Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan.
-
Just heard the Sol remix before coming here. Well done, man! So you really had Arc's permission to make this?
-
And you'd be right. http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Erin-Fitzgerald/

Same deal with Junko, apparently...guess that's spoilers in its own right, but that's as far as I'll go...
-
Guess we'll find out as we hear her roles in Danganronpa...of which we have no idea if they're hers or Erin's.
-
Not at all. Bullet sounds 99% as I would imagine in English. Tomboys are simply Erin's forte. Still could've been voiced by Miller, but what can you do?
-
Not gonna lie, I thought Ragna's "YOU LITTLE BITCH" voice clips was for Jin at first; and why wouldn't he say all that? lol
-
Huh? I thought it was gonna be developed for another two years. But really, I was expecting more previews.
