Holy shit, 24 entrants for Xrd?! Kinda sad I was way too burnt out from NEC to go (I passed out at 6PM...). It would have been fun to play in that! I also edited the first post with your results. Thanks BFH!

I'll get right on it boss!

Been talking to some of the GG players here and they're highly interested in holding ranbats for Xrd and wouldn't mind paying a small fee to do so. If Noah plans to run an Xrd Ranbat alongside USFIV RFR, I would say not to worry about a 2v2 format for Xrd at Ignite. Because of Xrd's possible inclusion of the ranbat season at Ignite, I wouldn't mind Option 1 with the rotation of UNiEL, DFC, GGAC+R, and P4U2. Four games to rotate around through the month and it keeps GGACR around. With the OG's being a bit more active for an Xrd ranbat, they would more than likely be involved with the +R Free to enter 2v2 since they would be there for the Xrd Ranbats (If this were to happen). I also like the inclusion of a Love Max 2v2 if enough people are going to show up for it and if for some reason people lose interest in one of the other 4 games being hosted (Same reason for dropping BBCP out of the lineup). As much as I'd hate to to drop BBCP, it's numbers are significantly low for it at Ignite and if it needs to go, let it go. We still have GGA and various monthlies to play BBCP (Since BBCP did have the most entrants at Nani Sore, mostly due to people who don't show up often, being there). So the game isn't dead, just not very active at the Ignite venue.

I updated that for you. Thanks! If anyone has any outdated info that needs to be changed, let me know.

The NEW Michigan Thread - Salt Mines and People Power! ... Kupo.
Chris Chaos replied to LunaKage's topic in Midwest
It's been awhile but I wanted to say thanks for the hospitality at Michigan Masters (I FINALLY MADE IT TO A MM!) All the Chicago players enjoyed themselves that weekend, Youmacon is always a blast when we come down! With that being said, Chicago will he hosting quite a few events: GGAnime Main Event Saturday November 22nd 2014 Galloping Ghost Arcade - 9415 Ogden Ave, Brookfield, IL 60513 An upcoming event we have really soon at Galloping Ghost Arcade! We'll be hosting UNiEL, BBCP, P4U2 and DFC! We're willing to add more games if people show up and support their game. The Fight Before Christmas Saturday, December 20th 2014 Ignite Gaming Lounge - 3341 N. Elston, Chicago, IL 60618 This will be the first event Chicago will host a Guilty Gear Xrd Tournament outside of Frosty Faustings VII! We will be hosting USFIV, UMvC3, GGXrd, UNiEL and many more to be announced! Frosty Faustings VII January 23rd - 24th 2015 Crowne Plaza Chicago - Northbrook - 2875 Milwaukee Ave, Northbrook, IL 60062 Obviously a Guilty Gear based event but expect anime to be represented there well! List of games will announced soon on the @@FrostyFaustings Twitter account so be on the lookout for that! Once an update is announced, I'll update this post! If any of you guys can make it let it be known, I can house about 4 people comfortably at my apartment so housing wouldn't be an issue (I could squeeze two more if necessary). If any of you guys are willing to show up and play that would be great! -

After playing BananaKen in a recent session, I'd have to say this MU is not that bad, More than likely; Slightly in S-Lab's Favor. A lot of what mixedmethods says is right, but as Shabrys has a ton of things to deal with Yukari, Yukari has tools that work as well. As stated before, if you know what Shabrys can do, this makes the MU go much more smoother. The round opener is the most important in this MU, but Yukari has a simple answer; 2C. This forces Shabrys to block herself and the Persona needs to block or, she loses a card, and luckily, you can jump cancel it on block so you can get away. If you happen to hit her, you can combo Shabrys and gain the life lead. This will force S-Lab to make an approach and you can stop her with a 2B/j.B and if she happens to be entering with j.B, that's a CH and you can get 3K for following up with a combo. Most of your combos SHOULD end in Silence against her. You limit Shabrys from using her Persona based Moves, along with her not being able to burst. Doing this favors you a lot since the Persona does get in the way of Yukari's offense. You can rush her down and open her up easier doing this, be sure to cross Shabrys up in the process. If you bait a DP and she has no meter, punish her. If get it to whiff, HURT SHABRY! When you have the life lead, Shabrys is forced to go on the offensive. Shabrys will try to break your Persona if you're zoning her out effectively so you have to be careful of placing 5D/2D, but if you don't want to risk your Persona, you can throw out Magarua (214C/D) or jumping Magarula and zone from that. Bombs are your friend here. Shabrys will more than likely approach with IAD~j.B so if she takes the risk of jumping in at you, trigger the bomb and that's a FC if she's swinging. Pick the combo up since there's so much untech time for it and make it hurt. If Shabrys is Persona broken, that's the time to rush her down. Just be aware of her normal and approach quickly yet, cautiously. When Shabrys has Titano available, it's quite frankly, her turn to play the game. Look at the count to see how many inputs you have to worry about. If she's low on cards and you have 75 Meter in awakening; challenge Titano with SB Mahagarula, It will take out the persona, and force Shabrys to block and allow you to mix her up. If you have not met these conditions, your movement and defense will be tested. Keep a safe distance from her to avoid a possible cross up from the ender. Even if you defend yourself from her onslaught, but get tagged by the ender, it takes a significant amount of health away from you. Another note: *If you use Mahagarula Super and both Shabrys and Asterius are blocking it, the duration of the Awakening super is HALVED!* Unfortunately, if you don't have a life lead, things get hard. A good Shabrys will lame you out which forces you to go on the offensive by taking risks. If you need to go offensive: - Do NOT IAD~j.A her! She can 2B you for it and get a FC combo that hits for about 3.5K + Knockdown + positioning. - Be aware of where Asterius is on the screen. If you're not paying attention to the Persona, you can get hit or even CH by something and Shabrys will pick it up for another combo into knockdown and favorable positioning. - Toss bombs on the screen to create dangerous space in the air so it's risky for Shabrys to approach you from the air. - Silence her if you hit her and keep the pressure going. Bait the DP or get a knockdown and place a Garu on her to keep the advantage, especially if she's in the corner. So far, this is what I came up with and it's gotten me a lot of success against BananaKen, I'm positive there are other things I may be forgetting since I'm at work ATM, but this is the brief summary I came up with on my break.

Thanks! I got paid earlier than expected so I'm pre-registered for NEC. -
To get the double arrow super (SB Hyper Feather Shot) after Mahagarula, you need to TK 214CD (SB Mahagaru) and after the recovery, input Hyper Feather Shot (236236AB). Both arrows will hit each separate orb and track the opponent. This costs a ton of meter though so if you're doing this, make sure it will kill. Mahagarula (Awakening Required/50 SB) + TK SB Mahagaru (25 SP) + SB Hyper Feather Shot (75 SP) = 150 SP You're utilizing all of your meter to do this to get a bit over 4K worth of damage if you have to mix them up within Mahagurla so as stated before; don't go for this unless it will kill.

I've had a lot going on in the past few weeks so Friday's have been out of the question for me. However, things are slowing down after Youmacon so I'll do what I can to show up. I may have to take wiredgod's offer for a ride to GGA because sometimes the car is too full for everyone to ride with Exia. Sorry that I haven't been able to show as of late but life happens.

Okay so NEC is looking possible for me to make it however, I won't get paid until the 1st of Nov. I don't see a cut-off date for pre-registration on the site, or on the first post so is Nov 1 too late to pre-register? I don't want to fight any of my local players 1st round if I can avoid it. -
GG's to OmniSScythe and everyone else I played tonight. Can't remember names but I had some pretty good matches.

*Double Post* I usually don't double post but, people should be aware this exists. There is a collection of Nico videos dedicated to Yukari Matches that are organized and updated regularly. If you have a Nico account and can't find some matches on YouTube, this is a good source to find matches and combo videos. Nico Yukari Video Collection I've also updated more info on the first post by adding some matches in each section (Except for Labrys and Yukari Mirror since I can't find any 1.1 matches on YT LOL!). So please, if you find more videos, post them up so I can add them to the first post.

Well, I saw Tahichi do this combo on Mix-Up night when he switched from Margaret to Yukari, Thought I'd drop it in here, along with the *Video Link* for a visual reference: Corner Combo: j.D > A+C~66 > j.A > j.A > (Land) > 2AB > OMB > IAD~jA+C~j.2 > 66~2B > 5 > 214B > 5B > 2C > j.B (Bomb Explodes) > (Land) > 5 > 2 > j. > j.c~236236A+B = 5300 Damage; (75 Meter+Burst Requirement)

You're right on all of those things. I'm still at the stage of "OH! I got that hit! But I'm too late to confirm" lol. I'll keep working on all my issues that you've stated for sure. Thanks for taking the time out to help me.

Made a few adjustments to the Video Boards to make it look cleaner. I also added these TGS P4AU Tahichi games: Mad Catz @ Tokyo Game Show (TGS) - Tahichi (Yukari) vs Die-Chan (Minazuki) - Tahichi (Yukari) vs Koichi (Ken) - Tahichi (Yukari) vs Mui (Aigis) EDIT: And for some miraculous reason, most of the videos on the front page have been unlinked... Looks like I'll have work to do later on... EDIT2: I'm headed out the door but this is a Tahichi match at Arc Revo I was linked to vs Yosuke: Arc Revo Cup - First Round, Game Six: Tahichi (Yukari) vs ??? (Yosuke) (Video is currently private Should go public soon) I'm not sure if this is Kameten (Yosuke) so I haven't labeled it. I think it's him but I'm not 100% sure. If anyone can confirm this, please do. Arc Revo Cup Qualifiers Yukari vs Teddie Yukari vs Aigis

Just played this MU and it is a pain... It got so bad that I had to ask Tahichi what to do here. He quickly replied with this: 花村に対しての置き技はダッシュ5AやJAにする。弓はダメ。 駆け上がりガード後は花村が跳ねた方向に微ダッシュして2C。 花村5DやJDはJAで壊す。 クナイは見てからQEして超弓確定。 滑空は気合いでガードする。 ネイマール骨折コンボに気を付けろ。 I'm in a rush ATM, but I will translate later when I get back. You want to use j.A and 5A a lot, Arrows are useless Dash 2C is a good option to use against him, even if he blocks, you can jump cancel. Break Hanamura's j.D and 5D with your j.A Quick Escape Kunai on reaction, you can punish him with Hyper Feather Shot Believe in your blocking when Hanamura glides... WATCH OUT FOR NEIMARU Fracture Combo! (Random Starter >Garudyne > OMB > Sukukaja > Auto-Combo > Sukukaja Super Ender: [unburstable(?) 6K+ Damage Depending on starter!] This is what I got in translation so if I'm wrong somewhere, please let me know, I will correct it.

Alright, I'll go first! Let's discuss a few MU's I've played! I'd like to hear how others feel about what I'm doing and what I could improve on. So let's go! ShinSyn (Yukari) vs SuzukaJanJan (Yosuke) I got wrecked here and I have a few answers as to why, but I really need help here. Anyone have any success with this match up?
-
Honestly, play her if you like her. She has good strength's with her zoning options but as with most zoners, she has the glaring weakness of what happens when she get's rushed down. However, her movement options help compensate for that weakness. Also, you gotta remember that you're going to do a ton of hit confirming with Yukari from a distance so just because you threw out something (ex: an arrow), doesn't mean you can immediately follow up, you gotta wait for things to hit the opponent, which is what throws a ton of players off. Understanding that makes things much easier in the long run. Just don't be discouraged when things aren't going you way, the work put in will show in time since she is what I like to call: "A High Maintenance Character." Hopefully you like her enough to stick it out and enjoy the game with her.

Made it to the last two and with Xrd announced as a main game, I fully intend to make it this year and getting a ton of Chicago Guilty Gear players to Final Round XVIII! Would people be down for doing a High Stakes Guilty Gear Xrd 5v5 Teams Event on Friday? $20 per person ($100 per team) winner takes all? I think it would be something to hype up Xrd before the tournament on Saturday, if we gather enough interest for it. We CAN make it a Region vs Region event if enough people from each region show up for it so, would people down for doing this?

I got a few notes from Tahichi for this match up: 完二の特性上、ゆかり2Cが機能するのでどんどん使う。 相手の起き攻めにはハイジャンプ仕込み直ガがリスク少ないのでそれを中心に。 耐えてをしゃがんで避けた後は2Aでもいいから必ず反撃! 弓をタックでGPとられても、ゲージがあればsc超弓で貫通する。 I'm quite out of it ATM but if anyone could translate this, it would be awesome. EDIT: (Thank you Omecross and OmnixTSC for the assist on Translating) Abuse Yukari's 2C since Kanji uses the air a lot. Use falling j.D after Super Jump arrow enders for safer okizeme. Always punish Kanji's Dive attack with 2A. When you have meter, Super Cancel Arrows against Primal Force's Guard Point to punish.
