[CSE-CP] Jin General Thread "Jin it to win it... again"
Chris Chaos replied to Yuushiro's topic in Archive
Jin's birthday needs to get here soon so I can finally get my copy of the game. -
All this talk about Mort's sister... she must be a looker.
-
I rarely play Tsubaki anymore, a lot of Tsubaki players showed me I suck with her so I pretty much dropped her I may be dropping Bang in CSE and pick up Makoto since she's low tier now, or I might pick Tsubaki back up. I've used him more than "A couple of times" against you, I'm sure of that. I'll admit, I don't use him often against you but I'm sure it's enough to gain something.
-
I guess my Bang isn't good enough to gain experience because I use him quite a bit against you.
-
I love this fucking thread.

I've relocated but im too tired to care right now...

Thanks Skye, I feel much better about my day, lol.

I thought my day was bad, but damn! Drake, WTF did you do to have Common go off on you like this?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Aw7fLb-3gw Common is probably the most chill rapper out there and beefs with no one up until now, you have to be a complete asshole for "Common" to blow you up like this.

I am BORED of this drill weekend and I'm only halfway through it... someone punch me in the face!

Wait, episode 11 is out?!

LMFAO! Shoutouts to women breaking fighting game mechanics!

That I don't agree with. I'm sure he still has bad match-ups against zoners. Even though CS has projectile invulnerability, it helps but I doubt that change is a game turning factor.
-
Well, with that being said, that numbers lead to Jin and Litchi being the best characters (tied) in the negative factor. That at least sounds right. Decent characters that can hold their own against those on top, making most of their match ups even or "slightly not in their favor" (At least for Jin).

I've been gone from this thread for too long then...

WTF is going on in this thread?

[CSE-CP] Jin General Thread "Jin it to win it... again"
Chris Chaos replied to Yuushiro's topic in Archive
This is all true, and crazy enough, you can still do j.C (CH) 2D in Extend, it's just that you have to be ridiculously low to the ground. Also to kill the question before it comes up, it was red, I did it at FF and was shocked that it worked but the chance of it happening often is slim to none because of how low you have to be when you connect with j.C. -

Yeah, I can get with the program of Playing Extend with 5 minutes of practice. I can do practical combos and get good damage once I get a few games in. The changes to me aren't that extreme to me at least. There was a point where I thought so but after playing a few games at FF then going back to CS2, then doing casuals on CSE 2 days after playing CS2, I felt fine. -

I can agree with you guys. I literally learned everything about Extend by watching the videos and I did pretty well against others who've been playing the game for awhile now. Converting over from CS2 to CS:EX is not that bad, as much as I hate to go back to CS2 because that's all I have ATM, I can easily get back into the swing of things playing EX for a bit. But I will say this, watching Jin and playing him are 2 different things, watching may be boring but playing him is fun. -

@Sanoshi, Illinois does not have a BlazBlue scene, that I can vouch for since I live here. The only place close to Illinois that has a BlazBlue scene is Michigan. Even with that being said, these are some great idea coming out of this thread and I'd like to thank shtkn for re-opening the thread. -

I'll say this: Going with the "Fuck EVO" attitude is definitely not the way to go about this. People got caught up in the wave and grabbed their pitchforks (myself included) and started thinking irrationally. Now that things have settled a little, let's move forward with this thread with a little more sense. I completely agree with what PoserWolf says here, especially with the comment on BBR. The announcement for BBR is too soon for people who REALLY want to go but can't afford it on due to it's short notice announcement or have jobs they have to let know a month in advanced that they want these days off. This has been a problem throughout time from when I got into BlazBlue as my main fighter, some majors/regionals/tournaments are announced months ahead of time and the advertisement for them are everywhere, and some of them; come out of nowhere surprising people who really want to go but it's either last minute, or there isn't enough advertisement on the event to have it noticed by the public. I looked into the Event Announcement Thread and there IS a thread on BBR but there's no solid information there to inform those who want to go, so I feel that BBR might be a bust due to this, especially since it's happening in February. What's sad is that this event is for BlazBlue and for there to be no solid information on Dustloop, the date is being thrown around by "Word of Mouth" and some people have no idea where this tournament is being held. This shows that those advertising the game did not put much time into it (or were told on short notice themselves about an overseas qualifier) therefore the effort and the turnout will be lacking overall. People like myself would love to go to BBR but due to the fact that most people didn't find out about it until maybe the beginning of this month, and the tournament is next month, kinda proves my point. Maybe with a two month heads up, a lot of people who want to go, could but this thread was made on January 2nd of 2012, and that is nowhere near enough time for anyone to get the money to wherever this tournament may be (I hear its going to be on the west coast) nor is there enough information to promote the tournament. 1 month may be convenient for West Coast players but what about players on the East Coast? It seems a bit unfair to them since these guys have to travel across the country to participate and we already got into the whole demographic of the groups that play this game. As Poser said, Aksys of America appears to appeal to those in California more than anywhere else (and it wouldn't surprise me if BBR was being held there) so how do you expect your companies game to grow when you focus on a single area? Is there a reason for that? Maybe. Probably because California has a bigger turnout for BB than any other state probably, but that's just me making an educated guess. In the end, we should just focus on the upcoming tournaments and find one that supports the BlazBlue community, go there and make an attempt to having one of the biggest BlazBlue tournaments there. An Air Dasher Major is way too big to plan ATM for any of us, but we could look into that and see if we could make it possible, the idea itself is BRILLIANT but to make an event and try to focus on that as BlazBlue's biggest major ATM is too soon (After sleeping on it, I had to think twice about this, lol). -

First thing's first, I'm glad the first person to say something about this wasn't me, because if someone who had been involved in the community longer than myself wasn't going to say something by Saturday night, I was going to post up a V-log stating the same things Alan pointed out. I'm not sure if what I had to say would have gotten such support because I fee that I'm not that big of a player in the BlazBlue community that anyone would take me seriously. I read Klaige's post on SRK the day he posted it, and I talked to him at Frosty Faustings and I wholeheartedly agree with everything he said and everything Stickbug posted here; the reason the community isn't getting the recognition we deserves it should get is because we as a community aren't supporting the game as we should. We can all sit here and get mad at those who hate on BlazBlue but at least those guys are doing what it takes to get their game the support it needs for recognition: GOING OUT TO TOURNAMENTS AND SUPPORTING THEIR GAME! People are going to crap on games they don't understand especially if they're in the same genre, that will never change. We as BB players crap on other fighters as well, and to make matter worse, some BB players even crap on BlazBlue as well, but the one thing we cannot say is that those guys support their game and go out to make it apparent that they want it at EVO. On top of that; people playing this game have the wrong mindset when it comes to local (or non-local) tournaments, or they have sad excuses because of it and believe me, what I say is true because I was here at one time: Sad Excuses "I'm not going to enter a tournament if I can't win" This should not be the deciding factor of going, even if you feel you can't win, you can learn something if you're serious about the game, and if not, you can meet up with some cool people that you can play with and build a casual scene. This applies to going outside your area, you could meet up with people you think are cool and have someone to chill with. "I'm not going to show up because I know I'd win" How do you know that you're going to win? If you have a reputation of being one of the best, show the heck up and show us why you're the best. Who's to say you will win, you just might meet your match at that tournament, as the old saying goes: "There's always someone out there better than you." You just never know what will happen. Hey, you might win it all, or you might get put out early, but that's the thrill of entering a tournament setting, you never know what to expect out of your opponent unless you've been playing each other forever. "No one I know is going to be there"/ "I don't think I'd fit in More reason to go! Meet new people who are interested in the same thing. Maybe your anti-social but guess what? You have something you can talk about to make things easier on you. You gotta get out of your shell if you want this game to get big, and the best way to do that is to meet up with people you have in common with, even if it's one thing. "I'm not good enough to play in a tournament" You never know unless you try. Hell my first "official" BlazBlue tournament outside of casuals or RANBATS was EVO 2011 and I almost made it out of pools into top 32! I had 2 chances, one of them I got beat in a close match, and the other Kid Viper blew me the heck up... I almost got in the big dance and if this Netplay Jin can do it, why can't you? "I'm afraid to get Blown Up (on stream/in public)" Who want's to get blown up? But guess what? It happens to the best of players; look at EVO 2011 Grand Finals, NO DISRESPECT TO LORD KNIGHT BY ANY MEANS!!! It happens to the best players and they cope well, then they move on to bigger and better things. People get blown up, it happens, but that's part of the fighting game community, I'm sure you've had your chance to "Blow Up" someone online, why not try it offline? "It's not worth my time..." This is the saddest of all excuses... How do you know unless you show? You don't know, you might have the best time you had in awhile if you do. Meeting new people, exposing your skills to others, and playing stronger players should be the reason you go. Don't go in having this attitude otherwise you may miss out on something amazing. Legit Reasons "My job is not allowing me to go" This happens to those who have jobs and want to keep them. It's happened to me more than I would like to count and has kept me from going to Michigan Master and NEC. I had plans but my job called me up and I just couldn't avoid work. Valid excuse is valid. "It's too far" This one is 50-50. If you don't have a car but the venue is in your state, or a few miles out, I'm sure you could discuss a plan to talk to someone to help you out. But if it's the case where you have to go across the country, completely understandable on why you would pass this up. "I'm broke" Times are hard in this economy, but if you really want to go, I'm sure you could find a way to get where you need to go and play. I will say this, sometimes, you just don't have the money and can't afford it. If you're at least over the age of 18, please get a job and make it out to something because the support is needed as you can see from Stickbug's post. "I'm 15..." Self Explanatory... All I can say is that you can try to sweet talk your mom or talk to your dad and see if they can accompany you to the event. Sweet talk mom into going by saying "When I win, I'll share the prize money with you" or macho it up with dad "When I win, I'll make grown men cry and take their money" Who doesn't want to see their child win money and give it to mom or watch their kid take a grown man's money, make them cry and laugh in their face? If that's not the case then there's no helping it, sorry kids... "Too soon to plan ahead" I can't stress how much this happens, and this falls on the tourney organizers. Tourney's should be announced months in advanced and advertised on all major forums that have the game(s) for that site. Last minute organized tournaments will never do well, especially if you're not advertising it enough to grab the attention of those in the area. Announce it months in advance and go out to get some people to show up. There is literally an answer to all bad excuses and some are legit, hopefully this opened up some eyes/ears to those sitting at home being NAH's. Now moving on to something that REALLY caught my eye: This is probably the greatest idea to come out from those who support the article. Why complain about not having BlazBlue at EVO when a lot of people crap all over the game? Forget them and let's put together something for the airdasher community. I fully support the idea of having an AnimeEvo Major supported by those who are willing to work for it and (KEY POINT HERE) can back it with the proper finances to make it happen. It's a great idea to begin with, but the question is, where and when can we organize such an event that's not too soon and give enough time to plan effectively? I'd love to help out, and even though I almost never have money, I still find ways to get where I need to be unless the Military calls me up for work (Pretty much what happened to me for NEC...). Hopefully this "Finding a Job" plan works out for me and I can get some extra money in my pockets soon and show up to more tournaments than EVO and Frosty Faustings. There needs to be a serious discussion with those who are willing and wanting to make this happen, Moderators, Admins, top players, and supporters of the game(s) should be the ones to get the wheels going on this and I would love it if I were involved as well. Location needs to be discussed, gaming roster needs to be put together (though I'm sure that part will be easy), and a catchier name than AnimeEVO (Sure there's a copyright issue there) would be fine too, LOL! If games are imports, we need to bring systems that can support the imported game, and there are more issues I'm not noting along with the ones I already brought up. Can it be done? YES IT CAN! Will it be done? Only if the community as a whole get's together and is able to find a way to make this happen. We need to have the community support the idea in many ways possible. Scenes need to get together and get their best players to show up (Offline/Netplay, it doesn't matter), so that the event is hyped up to the max. I have a few ideas I want to pass on to those who are interested in doing this as long as those who want to get involved are serious about it and are willing and able to assist in ways to make this thought into a reality. Sites like Dustloop/Homing Cancel/Melty Bread and many more should get together to try and figure out something to get this plan swinging because Dustloop alone can probably get it done but it would be even better if we had other outside sources to assist with such a plan especially if it means creating "THE" Major for Air Dasher games in the US. I mean, it will be hard but with enough help and with the right people doing what needs to be done, I'm sure it can be done.
