They aren't gonna react that fast osuna:v: I was stating that under the assumption of them reacting to it as a tick setup and throwing the 5B when they would be jumping. Given human reaction speed, that's not an irrational concept

Why would we have to forget using 5A for a VTC>720 tick??? +4 on it makes it great for that now. Means people will be less willing to try and do anything about how plus his normals are. They're gonna have a hard time trying to find spots to jump out with Air Unbloackable 5B>5C now comboing which means the upback strategy is out the window as there are so many things that can punish it and reset them into it again. Shit just go 5A>Walk>5B and you'll probably catch them jumping. This in turn also makes 6A>RC way better for pressure. 6A>RC>5A>5A>2A>2B whiff>360 or 6A>RC>5A>5A>Wait>5B to catch a jump is gonna be really strong.

OK So I am finally back to being productive and have updated the first page with everything from the past 3 weeks. Matches were added to most of the cast so that means more for us to watch. I am also gonna have a talk with one of my good friends who has some fancy recording equipment to MAYBE hook me up and record some Valk stuff for the forums. Not sure if it'll be combo video status, but what I'd really like is to have video references for combos which would also entail renovating the Combo Thread and putting some visuals with the wall of combos. Just a thought now so we'll see :3

I realized that maybe keeping a beginner thread open would be beneficial for new players to start so I'll either just keep this how it is or make a new one with some actual beginner friendly starting points. To answer an earlier question, ending combos midscreen with 6C or Rozen is possible in some cases. Its usually not a good thing cause despite the good corner push, you lose your oki which is bad cause Valk has some of the best oki in the game. 6C is more doable than Rozen due to how Rozen usually makes them fly the wrong way or whiff entirely cause of how far he moves. As for normals that can cancel into Wolf, there are 4 that cancel on hit and and 1 that can cancel before its active Frames. On Hit, you cancel these normals: 5A, 2A, j.A, 6B(2nd Hit) You can also cancel 6C before its active Frames begin for mixup. As for combos off of these, there is only one that lets you combo off of the Wolf Cancel and thats ONLY if you can hit a 6B Fatal. FC6B>3D>5C(Brake)>j.A>Land>5B>JC>j.B>3C>j.A etc etc etc. Surprisingly, going for 3D off of 6B isn't a bad idea most of the time. At worst, you could be at +5 off of 6B. The huge amount of blockstun makes it really hard to mash out against a Wolf Cancel especially if they don't have a reversal. It automatically confirms its own mixup/combo should you hit it Fatal or they block it. And you don't even have to Wolf Cancel it if you don't want to. If they're still close to you, reset your pressure into 2A if they don't IB cause its pure blockstun and mix up up from there.

I've been calling NorCal time for the past 6 months. We haven't started earlier than 2 hours late in almost 8 months:v: -
That may have been a proration problem as there were quite a few hits before the 6C. If sny of those were [W]5A, I'm not surprised it dropped. That prorated the combo to all hell.

I can't believe they removed the head invul on [W]5B entirely:v: Thats our one legitimate Anti Air and we already had to put ourselves in a risky spot just to use it so now we're fucked even more in the defensive department. Looks like we're gonna have to either force it to trade and hope we can get a [H]5C after it or go back to hoping 2C trades good. And if the untech time reduction on 2C makes his combos messed up, I'm gonna be pissed.

Try throwing 4D as a meaty. 5 Active frames and its even on block so hitting it meaty puts you at a good advantage. Most people who are used to mashing after given Tager's slow normals to use after, you can hit them for it. I try to throw it a lot on corner neutral techs as it puts them in a really awkward situation.

So does anyone know this damn matchup? I played against a Rachel yesterday and I was just confused as to when I could do well...Anything! Everything she can do is freaking safe so I have no clue when I can try and hit a damn button:v:

For the IAD thing, midscreen especially, the j.B won't connect unless the 5B is point blank if you just jump cancel it. The IAD will always allow the j.B to connect and then 3C>j.A follows suit with no other troubles. As for Makoto, she has an interesting Hitbox. It's not that it's small or anything like that, but whenever she gets hit in the air, she bounces higher from the hit than any other character in the game. So because of this, you have to adjust her height somehow(Not much, just a very small tweak) Try delaying the [W]j.B just a bit in the corner. Doing the IAD should readjust her height naturally and everything should work just fine after that

I've noticed he has a very long Wolf ender that involves a whole bunch of j.A and j.B which may or may not give him more heat than the normal ender and it looks like when he ends on the [W]j.B, hes able to get them to end on an Air Tech which prevents any type of roll to be possible instead of dealing with roll outs and OS's off of those.

Green command grabs during combos and block strings I understand, but my only issue is the illogical nature of it. You'd have to make command grabs catch out of the air or else there's no point in cause all of Tagers combos need to be off the ground for the most part.
