  1. The way I play neutral game is pretty much fish for hits with 5C. Footsies work in his favor considerably as few characters outrange him(Litchi and Hakumen being the only ones.) If find a good chance to get in, I tend to take it as Valk gets 100000x more scary up close. I have a few ways of getting in but he can do pretty much whatever. Wolf Form jump>Air Dash>D>[H]j.C is a pretty standard way to get in. Its fast, goes 2/3s of the screen and his j.C has really good priority. If they catch on, mix it up with Wolf Form Air Dash and j.214A if you think they'll try to AA you. this will beat most AA if you delay it right so it make them think twice about it. On the ground in Wolf Form, you can get in with 236A as its +2 on block meaning its a relatively safe approach if you pick the right follow up. Spaced right, they can't punish it on IB and if they try to mash, do it again for a CH. As for managing Wolf Meter, the only thing that burns any real amount are the C Dashes. My rule of thumb for Wolf combos is 3 Dashes if you're lucky, but you can always get at least 2 from Full Meter. I tend to go for 1 or 2 Dashes per combo and go for resets into ground pressure as while you're on the ground, you're getting back your Wolf Meter. Example being something like crouching [H]5B>5C>236C>9D>[W]j.AA>j.B>3C>j.A>Land>D>[H]5B>JC>j.B>j.C This particular combo actually uses very little Meter, only about 1/3 and gives you a basic reset. I tend to just run these till I get them to the corner so I can start more ruthless pressure and know I'll have full meter if I decide to go for max damage and heat gain. But its pretty much a give and take for the Meter, the more you use, more meter or damage you can gain anywhere. But one thing that should be known is the amount of meter each combo in Wolf Form uses so you can adjust your combos on the fly should you get a quick hit on a reset.
  2. He can only Counter Throw you out of 6A if he is canceling his 5A or 2A into Throw which you wouldn't wanna try anyway. You can 6A anything not a low off of Ragna's 2B. Get them into the habit of going into sleeper low blockstrings and use it to your advantage. If you have the meter, you can IB>Sturm Wolf through almost anything.
  3. After a great 13 hours of sleep, I'm feeling better. I'd like to apologize to those who I may have been salty too given my terrible performance on Stream in Top 3. It was a real spirit breaker to have only lost 1 set the entire ranbat and then scrub out in the end. Doesn't help that I couldn't get a single CA to come despite having tried over 10 times against Jared in Loser's Finals. But I've slept it off and I'm feeling better now. Other than that, I had an amazing time. It was very hype and it was great to see everyone playing well. Shoutouts to Vineeth to hitting 2nd, you definitely earned it. Shoutouts to Rin for doing well too. Running the Stream and playing well made you quite the happy kitteh :3 Shoutouts to Coopa, always good to see you. Hype Tager mirrors with Nate were great too. Shoutouts to Mystic and Nate for rides. Always good to see you guys. Extra shoutout to Mystic for driving over the concrete island at In N' Out :3 Stay off road nigga! Shoutouts to Koogy for the awesome shirts :3 I'll be sporting these bad boys for a long time. Shoutouts to Dabbit, again, sorry I was salty. Not very sportsmanlike of me. Congrats on 1st, you earned it after falling back into your groove. I'm taking 1st next time! Shoutouts to Willy for redemption and being so damn awesome that I'd accept an HnK MM with him for various reasons:v: Shoutouts to Crosell for not getting that free dinner :3 I'll bring the cables and the free dinner next time :3 Shoutouts to Tone and the Ramnation Crew, I'll be sure to scrub it out in SSF4 next time you show up. Shoutouts to everyone else who showed up! This was a bigger turnout than normal. I wanna see this every month :3 Special Shoutouts to Chun and Batman for getting the Venue situation worked out. Saved our asses. See everyone either next month or at Clocktower!
  4. The Wolf Cancels are very committing in CS1 as you can't Transform the same way you can in CS2. Using Wolf to bait DPs is quite risky. Since you can't do anything about the Cancel until he starts dashing forward, if they IB 236A, its a free punish on Cancel. In my opinion, best option against DPs is [H]6A. Time it to make the DP hit the guard point. Option select 5C/2C on Clash depending on the Character as if they don't know its coming, you'll get a free CH combo. If the guard point takes the whole hit, you'll get a CH 6A and them out of your face.
  5. Ok so I remember the first NCI that was at Taylor Hall and I remember getting my ass lost trying to find it since the address doesn't exactly specify the venue. Where specifically is it at the DeVry campus?
  6. Oh damn...That sounds like "Get hype for Koogy coming" :3
  7. I've only got 2 tech traps right now. Haven't really tried them out much but I imagine they'll be good to throw out every once in a while. Do your combo into Rozen and you can make a trap out of the following combo: starter>Rozen>9D>[w]j.AA>j.B>3C>j.A>Land and just wait a second and if they're mashing tech, they'll air tech in which case you TK a Command Grab and it'll catch them. Or if you have you combo into whatever starter>[w]j.236A>j.236B>5C>j.B>j.B>Land and wait. If they Neutral Tech and don't know its coming, you can land and go straight into a Command Grab and they should fall right into it. So in the corner it may be something trying every once in a while to keep them scared Also throwing this on here. [W]j.214A/B is a really good move to stuff an AA. If you know a Ragna is consistent on his 6A, throw this out to beat it since the delay should mess up the invul frames. Also on CH, they bounce on the ground a tiny bit and can link into [w]5B most of the time which picks up into 236B>j.236>enders. If you think they're too far to hit with just [w]5B, walk a bit and go 5A>5B. The combo will still work just fine.
  8. Someone is just BEGGING to not get his stuff back :3
  9. Brackets are pretty easy to run when you have 3 or 4 people running around making sure everyone is playing and reporting. Making them is another thing...I'd actually consider running some of these if I knew how to make the damn Brackets :3
  10. I've got a friend who plays a great Tao. He gets fucking annoying sometimes since Tao has so much bullshit she can do. I've played him a few times but not recently since hes been gone for winter break. I'll be playing him later this week. Gonna be hype to pull out all the crap I've figured out :3 Also just throwing this out there. [w]236A is the MOST vague crossup EVER. if you wanna go for a quick reset and you get something like etc>5C>Rozen>9D>[w]j.A>Delayed j.B>Land and wait a second. You can meaty a 236A in Wolf form and if you time it just right, it becomes a crossup. Its very easy to pick up too as if you hit it, just go into 236B>j.236B>ender. Best part, its insanely vague and near impossible to determine if its a crossup or not. Worst part. its hard as FUUUUUUUUCK to hit it right. there are only about 2 active frames that'll cross up like that and its hard as shit since you have to take spacing into consideration and all that crap.
  11. Don't ever use that in match. If you add in that 5B before the ender, they can tech immediately after the last hit of the Super which means Tao gets a free 6C CH into 6.6k Taunt Loop and Hakumen gets whatever damn punish he wants. He could probably Mugen into a 100% if you did that...
  12. Wow double the size?? Holy shit...Thats great. The old room was about the same size as the CS Clubroom for anyone who was wondering so twice that is gonna be great. Assuming this falls together, I'll be Santa and bring some drinks so people don't die of thirst :3
  13. Ok heres the thing, Yes, Tao can Crawl under most of his options. But if you have a good Fuzzy Guard setup, then she won't be able to Crawl cause she won't know which way to block, let alone whether or not Crawl. The point of Fuzzy Guard is to put them in a situation where they don't know where they have to block. 2B is good because of his options after. 2B>3C or 2B>5B>JC>j.C>RC or 2B>Rozen>RC>etc. Also note, you don't NEED to get a big combo to make a point to the opponent. If you hit with an instant j.C overhead, thats instantly one more thing they have to worry about. Its NOT as easy you claim it to be. Also for the record, 5B/2C>JC>j.C overheads are airtight. She can't crawl under the j.C. And Crawling under Rozen is quite hard if its off something like 6B or 2C as there is a very small window where she can crawl. Its not a Frame 1 thing, She doesn't actually Crawl till Frame 4. If she decides to try it at the last second, she'll get hit. And if it isn't telegraphed, you won't react to Rozen right away especially since everyone's gut reaction is to block, NOT Crawl. Rozen is a 21 Frame overhead. Thats rather fast for an overhead when you compare it to Ragna's 24 Frame 6B. Also when the Startup is less obvious since all he does is idle for a second then charge at you, its not so simple. The reason why people block it now is cause they see the same damn blockstring and they know where the overhead is. Also Note if you think shes gonna try and crawl, stagger your blockstring or end it and punish her for it. Abuse the fact she can't Crawl under Valk's [H] 5B and use it a lot in blockstrings. She'll have a tough time finding the need to Crawl.
  14. HumanForm overheads are extrememly hard to deal with when you don't have a DP. Tao has no DP. To try and mash out of Valk's FATAL status 6C is retarded. She squeezes a 5A in, she gets like 2k, Valk beats it and Fatals, Tao eat over 6k which more than 2/3s of her health. Risk/Reward is way too off scale for Tao to take that kind of risk on defence. As for not using Wolf overheads, yeah sure, you can throw one if you want. Problem is that if she reacts to you using WolfDash as an approach, she has no reason to stand when Crawling beats both Normals the Wolf form has. With theTao matchup, its VITAL that you keep Tao on defence and on theground or else she can start to out manuver you which will be an issue. EDIT: Also don't neglect Valk's instant j.C overhead off of a blocked 2C or 5B. 4 Frame jump with a 12 j.C is a 16 frame overhead and with 50 meter, that means about 4k damage. Rozen is a good overhead too its just telegraphed cause everyone goes 5B>5C>Rozen and calls it mixup. 2B>Rozen is very hard to catch. If they block it, 1D Cancel and put a bit of space between you and the opponent. Valk's Human form overheads are quite difficult especially if you don't make it obvious.
  15. Assuming its the same room from way back then, we had about 40 people in the room at once, fit everyone somewhat comfortably. There was already an HD TV in the room that we were able to use too I believe.
  16. OH GOD...HIDE THE PING PONG TABLE!!!! :3
  17. Is this the same DeVry we used waaaaaaaaaay back at the very first NCI back when John started all of this?
  18. Don't do 7CD, that makes the angle all funky and shit. Since you're using [w]j.236B before the Dash, use 5CD, that'll be a lot easier. But depending on the height of you relevant to the opponent, delay the 5C as needed. Its way easier this way midscreen and in the corner.
  19. Don't use Wolf for overheads against Tao. Make Wolf mixup between lows, Command Grabs and anti jump out moves(Wolf's 5B). Overhead mixup on Tao should only be done in Human form since its a lot harder to deal with.
  20. I think moving it back to the last week would be the worst option. I'm sure by now most people have gotten the necessary days off from work or whatever to go the first weekend. Canceling it for the month does suck but if thats what needs to be done then no one has the right to complain. A last minute venue with a bit of price could work depending on if people are willing to pay of course. I personally don't have a preference either way but if I HAD to pick, I'd go with the last ditch venue if we can't get SJSU
  21. Interesting. Sleeping in the CS Club room doesn't count as trespassing?? Also I can't imagine that being the most cozy room in the world...No heating and tile floors...Sounds like a dream for me but a nightmare for most
  22. Downtown San Jose ain't no camping area. what you need is an Anti-mugger computer :3
  23. Rin! HI :3 Please tell me you can make it to NCI this month. I got everything I need for the Valk recording. Its gonna be hype as hell. Also Happy New Years!!!!!

  24. You were canceling 5C Dash into another 5C Dash. All of his dashes can cancel into themselves if need be. But I do know whats happening. You see, whenever you do a C Dash in Wolf form, if you hit 5C again, he'll stop dashing altogether. So for instance, if you're in Wolf Form and you jump and just hit C without any directional inputs, you'll doing 5C Dash>Cancel>5C Dash>Cancel and he'll start go lower and lower cause after he cancels he rolls towards the ground. BUT if you hold 6C and just mash on C, you get 5C Dash>5C Dash>5C Dash>5C Dash and he doesn't Cancel out of Dash altogether, You can do this with all of them. You can mash 8C and he'll keep canceling 8C Dash into another 8C Dash. Pretty much whats happening is by holding 6 for your Dash input, you're getting the 5C Dash. But if you go say 5C>6C, Whats happening is that the games system is reading that as a Forward Dash Cancel or 5C Cancel but using 6 as the command input since 5C during a Dash is a straight Cancel with no other Dash occurring after it. Its a bit confusing I know. So TECHNICALLY, you can say theres a 6C dash but in the context you're using it, it has no meaning, its a 5C Dash. 6C would only apply to Canceling one Dash into the 5C Dash.
  25. Are people so angry about someone's choice of game that someone needs to have the name AirDashersR4Fgt???? I mean...REALLY? I understand having differences in styles of preference but playing an air dasher doesn't have anything to do with someone's living situation nor sexual preferences...And calling someone a faggot doesn't win you an argument, it simply means you resort to ignorant insults before any thought gets through your head. Why hate on someone for having a PREFERENCE of gaming style?? Thats like me hating someone for liking Mustard and saying Ketchup is a REAL condiment. Doesn't make any sense you idiots! I dunno why Kurokun is getting this crap but he surely doesn't deserve to be called a faggot for no good reason by an ignorant piece of shit. TLDR Version for retards: DON'T HATE ON SOMEONE FOR HAVING A PREFERENCE. ITS IGNORANT. IF YOU'RE TOO DUMB TO KNOW WHAT THE WORD "IGNORANT" MEANS, LOOK IT UP! And to think...I just came on here to call Mystic D free for the first time this new year...Yaaaay first fight of 2011...
