PS3 vs PS4 GGXrd Graphics/Sound Quality Comparison?
Epic replied to HGhaleon's topic in Guilty Gear General
Yeah heard exactly the same claims from my opponents. I had 12f, they had 2... Something is screwed up right now and you get desynchronised from the match, but your opponent doesn't. They can move freely and for me the game is unplayable. Well let's hope the new patch fixes something this time. -
EU PS4 and online is still unplayable. For some reason I'm getting either 6 or 12 frames delay against everyone while the people I play with sit at 2. Does this have something to do with the synchronization? I initially thought it was the broadband we have over here since it's not the greatest, but people with much better internet report the exact same issue. So I have no idea what's causing this.

Dark Angel is pretty much useless in Xrd for the reason you mentioned. You'll have more luck abusing the crap out of YRCs. Double Head Morbid in to RC is also a great option to spend your meter. Basically I always thought of Venom as a character that's supposed to piss your opponent off. Like you've said he doesn't have a lot of options to open someone up. So you just sit on someone until he runs out of patience and makes a mistake, then you punish. Unless you can land a hit yourself of course. In example a simple blockstring into Carcas Raid that leads to a counter hit, dash, combo. Back in the day you only could go for knockdowns out of hits until you reached the corner. In Xrd he finally has a reliable corner carry that's easy to set up. This is his go-to combo most of the time. The damage you get from it is also something that he never had outside of Dubious Corve loops. As for formations, besides the most common ones used for pressure, you can pretty much freestyle with them as long as you have some distance and know what you're doing, with the goal to cover as much screen as possible with them to to narrow the space where your opponent can move freely. For the same reason as above. You use balls to force the opponent to make a move and then react to what they did. In the corner you can use them to help you link normals that normally wouldn't although this was nerfed a bit in Xrd with the change to how stinger shots colide with other balls, but it still has it's uses. So I think you could divide formations into those which put your opponent into a bad situation that requires them to move or to cover your own approach after a knockdown. The more knowledge and experience you have about this character as well as the game's system, the better you get at mixing this up and figuring out new ways to use his tools.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Epic replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
Before the patch the delay used to fluctuate up and down all the time. The game itself had to adjust so it kept speeding up or slowing down to sync properly. After the patch it somehow picks one frame of delay and keeps it throughout the whole match. It's better in a way that you don't have to worry about the slowdowns anymore as the game is not sluggish anymore, but the delay is larger than you were used to. Although it's easier to adjust to it after a few games since the speed will always be the same with your current opponent. At least that's how I understand it. -

I'm not sure where it was mentioned, but someone said it already that you have to take several things into account like character weight, their defensive rating, their hitbox while in the air etc. You can't just learn class weight combos and call it a day. For some characters you have modified versions of your standard b&b that only work against them. Ky is a good example, as even if he's not a heavy character you need to change some of your combos specifically for him, because of the way he falls. -

In the JP PS store it said he costs 800 yen, unless somethng changed. -
If he's using it a lot you can safely IAD over it and do a standard air to ground combo to punish him for it. I've seen Japanese Venoms do that a lot. This of course works when there's some distance between you two. I don't think regular jump will work since Sol can recover fast enough. Of course he can YRC it to be safe. If he's on you there's not much you can do besides blocking. Fortunately most of the time he has to YRC it to keep pressing on so sooner or later there should be a gap open. Just be cautious, because almost all of his normal pokes have +frames for him on block.

It's easier for you simply, because 966 is slower and it gives you the required delay. You need to delay the jump after c.S(3) hits to let the other char fall down a bit.

Are you sure the problem isn't on your side? I've played from the UK with people in french/german lobbies and the delay was 2-4 almost all the time, unless someone used a toaster instead of a modem. -

Oh you made a funny. -
It depends which method you'll stick with. I personally just do 96 and have to delay the jump cancel a bit for j.S to hit. But if it's easier for you try 866 or 766 since it comes out a bit slower. Me personally had problems with those two options as j.S wasn't coming out most of the time so I stuck with 96. But yeah you justneed to delay it the jump for it to work like it's supposed to, as the character needs to fall a bit after the initial c.S(3).
-
I might be rusty, but was there any trick to do c.S(1), CR?
-
The delay on c.S[3], IAD j.S was confusing as hell at first, but I think I've got the hang of it now. What's amusing to me is that, as a person who always had issues with IAD, it seems I picked the best character to finally learn it, because almost all of Venom's longer combos have 1-2 IAD in it. Fun times.

Heh just like I thought - two characters. I don't know why people expected more. This is like 2D fighter demo 101. Not worth the trouble. -

So what if he did? He enjoyed a certain aspect of the gameplay and when it was removed he lost interest. Same with me and Axl - rensen FRC and hachisubako were removed in Xrd and because of that I lost interest in him as those two thing where the most fun aspects of the character for me. I think Ogawa quit playing in Slash, because Eddie was a trash can character that he did not enjoy playing and refused to swap to a different one, so I guess according to your amazing logic he's just an opportunist raiding the S tier train. If Zato wasn't present in Xrd I highly doubt he'd even touch it. Some people just like their character to a point where they don't want to play anything else. What you're doing is basically telling people to pick characters that they don't enjoy, nor are remotely interested in and play the game for the sake of it or they aren't real fans, despite following the series for over 10 years. Give me a break. -

Nooooooooo......... or rather yes! that he plans to, his character choice just sucks (as I simply hate the doctor). They should just say that they'll release most of the missing chars as DLC somewhere next year. I'd pay $5 for Testament in a heartbeat. -

Good question. A lot of the old killers didn't even pick up Xrd. I guess they just moved on. -

If it's anything like a typical fighting game demo you'll get two playable characters so don't get your hopes up for a full game. -

Last time I ordered stuff from the US to Europe I used a middleman type company. You tell them what you want, they order it for you, it gets delivered to their location and then they send it to you. Don't if such entities still exist, but I'm pretty sure there are some that would be willing to do that. -

Is it too optimistic to assume that 4th December will be a world wise release? Famitsu is a JP only magazine so I doubt they'd have any intrest talking about NA/EU release dates. -

The stick that Markman showed during SEAM had a switch between PS3/PS4 modes so you can say that the new stick will be backwards compatible, but not the old sticks unless something changes. In all honestly why would they change it? Forcing people into buying brand new sticks is great buisness for them. -
True. But I think you linked a video some time ago where it seemed like Venom was repelled after a ball BS so I don't know if it applies differently to specific moves or do summoned balls only get such treatment. Maybe something else happened in that situation. http://youtu.be/ySZeqT3r9FA?t=3m55s This new forward dust wall stick mechanic seems interesting.
